  1. Max will very soon be above that... Putting Jedd at reserve
  2. We're just waiting for someone else to snap him up... And then be like "there's no one available" that's what we usually do... No offence to Simon but there's nothing to lose... I like Simon but brough is not his track at all
  3. Lambert's ability was made long before he joined the championship, even before the NL... Probably when the Germans gave him a chance when Britain didn't... Because he was 'too young' Same goes for the Spillers (Either one being a nice number 7 rider?)
  4. Not sure if George or Martin should be beating Chessell like... Danny maybe
  5. The next time you turn up to a meeting, wait for 30 minutes after the initial start time while they try to fix the track, and then eventually it gets called off with all the riders and fans already in attendance and waiting..... Don't complain
  6. Them 3 were joke suggestions... Just kinda proving how bottom of the barrel we are looking at... Not much out there, but there's also nothing to lose, any of these riders are worth a gamble imo...
  7. Not sure how likely Danny is to be dropped though... Must be really difficult for Martin, and it's understandable Does Joe Lawlor still ride after being dropped by Glasgow? (Just don't let him in any hotels) Also heard rumours of Jack Parkinson Blackburn coming back, but how many meetings would he do before he retired again? Maybe Paul Bowen can be given a chance, on the promise he brings the whole team a half time pie... Interesting times ahead...
  8. Depends on whether he'd then be a better or worse option than our then discarded 2.00er
  9. I really really like Dan Gilkes, watched him a few times and love his style... BUT with the few points already raised about his exams, location and such and the stage he is at in his career, it would be a year too early would it not? Dan rode in an NJL meeting already around Brough and although I'm sure it was his first time there and he will have improved since, it's probably too early for him, Josh was beating him and he seemed to struggle a bit with the track... Although I do admit, he IS the next big thing in British speedway, and relatively unspoken about... Would be a great asset for 2020... As for Jedd List, all comments apply... He seems very fast around the big tracks, but Newcastle? I dunno... Although he did look comfortable enough in his second half laps (by himself) could that have been the promotion inviting and watching him?
  10. I'm not sure how much Simon wants to be at Newcastle like... I dunno, maybe he does, but it doesn't strike me as his favourite place to be, not saying he'd betray the club, but it's not ideal, just the only club left for him... At least Danyon is young... And Hopwood is solid... But even if not Hopwood, just a gamble on a 2.00er like Wallinger, Embleton or Luke Harris would be nice... Alex Spooner seems to have started the season on fire? (Not a hair joke) BUT if we went for just a 2.00er rather than Hopwood, might as well get someone like Tom Perry or Carl Wilkinson (If not retired?) At least he likes our track
  11. Now too late to fit Danyon Hume and Ben Hopwood in for Danny and Simon... Unless Danyon would qualify for an injury reduction? Danyon seemed to do well at Sheffield today, and no offence but Ben would only be an upgrade on Danny
  12. Yes it does... But some people still feel the need to complain... Typical speedway fans I think, always negative and always have something to moan about, no matter how positive something is... THAT in itself is killing the sport just as much as the BSPA is... Negativity spreads like wildfire
  13. Just in case anyone missed the meeting last week, great race... Lasse Bjerre is such a good team man, giving Matty an earlier win too, really pleased with him so far this season... Puts tonnes of effort in and is willing to make sacrifices (race wins) for the sake of the team
  14. Don't see why anyone can complain about Bjerre... Yes he started the season off slow, but the last two home meetings, particularly the last one, he's been great... He seems like a big team man too... Gifting Matty that win and slowing down to help Max, just to be passed on the line by Josh Pickering... I think our heatleaders are strong and don't need to be touched, I like Matty at 4, he's impressed me in a much harder position than last season, obviously Max is performing very well at reserve and looks like he'll be good enough to step up... It's just the other two... No offence Rob is generally the first to publically shame teams for making similar moves... One rule for one and another rule for another
  15. Vaguely... And I think Clegg would do good in the main body - Yes, just good, not GREAT (Especially at home)... A bit like when we had Lewis Rose at number 2 the year we had Danny King, plus it's a much weaker league now... With other number 2s including Danny Ayres, Tobias Thomsen, Ben Morley, James Sarjeant, Ellis Perks, Tom Bacon (Is he ok after his crash?) Etc... All rider Max could easily beat or mix it with
  16. Please read my post in the Newcastle Vs Edinburgh thread, completely different circumstances
  17. Because it was completely different circumstances, it was after the deadline for Scunthorpe, so they had to keep him... If it turned out tomorrow, for whatever reason, Newcastle HAD to keep Danny I would support him all the way... But for now, in best interest for the team and himself, while the rules allow, we should replace him
  18. How about Danyon Hume (3.79) & Ben Hopwood (2.46) in And Simon Lambert (4.18) & Danny Phillips (2.00) out Team would be 1. Steve Worrall 7.97 2. Danyon Hume 3.79 (Yes, a bit weak for now, until Max comes into the main body, feel for Simon, but Brough is just not his track at all) 3. Lasse Bjerre 7.08 4. Matthew Wethers 5.78 5. Thomas Jorgensen 7.66 6. Ben Hopwood 2.46 (Solid enough rider with experience... Will do better than Danny, no offence and would allow Danyon at 7, which would be strong) 7. Max Clegg 3.17 (Will soon go to number 2 and can really kick on well imo, impressed so far this season) Total: 37.91 Still also like the idea of someone like Mikkel B Andersen for Simon and a gamble on Jordan Jenkins (Or similar) for Danny
  19. Nathan Ablitt and Jordan Jenkins seemed to do ok tonight... And Connor Coles done ok (Consistent points at least) at Stoke the other night... Has experience at Brough...
  20. But when we do it the whole speedway world goes into an uproar... Even making the news in Poland that Newcastle dropped a rider because another rider had to retire... It's a numbers game in this country...
