  1. Personally feel that an MDL team would be more suitable this season? Surely it's too early for Danny Smith, and maybe half a year or so too early for Archie also... If Belle Vue are in the MDL why not Newcastle? An MDL squad of Kieran Douglas, Josh Embleton, Joe Alcock, Archie Freeman and Danny Smith would be good... Spread out the trips to the IOW and Plymout between them!! Would also really like to see Jamie Halder get one of the spots as it's one of the crimes of the century that's he's unable to find a team place
  2. 1 Ben Morley 9.18 GBR 2 Joe Alcock 4.36 GBR 3 Rob Shuttleworth 6.05 GBR 4 Josh Embleton 4.83 GBR 5 Tom Perry 8.50 GBR 6 Kieran Douglas 3.00 GBR 7 Archie Freeman 3.00 GBR Wouldn't be a world beating side, but it would give a few young, local lads a leg up and a bit of experience... Would be a nice side to watch... Can someone explain to me the format of the NL trophy, how many meetings will there be? Are they full 15 heat meetings? Also will there be a NJL team next year? Or maybe even MDL with Josh, Joe, Archie, Danny being the main four 500s
  3. Josh, Joe, Archie, Kieran as the second strings/reserves Max Clegg can't do NL as far as I'm aware, same with Connor... Not sure about James? Danny Phillips no thanks, think he'll end up retiring, Connor Coles already rides for IOW. It will be interesting to see who we put together, by the sounds of things Rob has already got a good idea of who he wants... Maybe a few more ex-Stoke riders? Luke Priest, Rob Shuttleworth etc... Would like to see Ben Morley, always liked him as a rider and as far as I'm aware he is not hooked up anywhere for next year yet? Be a great number 1 in the NL
  4. STILL waiting for the fixtures to come out
  5. On offer, we have everything you might expect from a typical race night, with the added bonus of a couple of cracking games of bingo! Also, look out for the possibility of some special guests in attendance as well!Admission is set at £5 per head and includes a finger buffet, as supplied by Grants Catering Services.Tickets are available through the Supporters Group! This text taken from the website suggests to me that you need to book a ticket in advance... I dunno for sure though...
  6. Race bingo... Sounds interesting On a serious note, glad to see Rob arranging such events to get the fans together outside the season, and really nice to see the new signings showing their faces Especially the Czech and the Slovenian!!
  7. And all football fans are taking to the Internet in protest Please tell me what Robert Lewandowski has achieved in the past year which outdoes Bartosz... Yes, I know he's one of the best players in the world... But Bartosz IS the best rider in the world, no question about it... Just because football is bigger than speedway, does NOT mean Robert deserves it over Bartosz... Football dominates the world, they don't even have to achieve anything anymore... They're all saying stuff like "What more does poor Robert have to do to be awarded" How about win something? Haha... No one ever recognises speedway, even in it's biggest nation Congratulations Bartosz on your well deserved and well earned award... Hope for more of the same in 2020, world champ again?
  8. Probably because King's Lynn's last 2nd tier year was 2010?
  9. I know he rode for us at one point, but not this last decade... I did like Jason Lyons very much that year when he guested all them times
  10. Bullsh*t... Poole have been doing it for years with plenty of success Tbh I never realised it was a converted average as he was JUST before my time watching the sport... Hmmm, I bet I can still find some team or another grrr
  11. I know my post wasn't exactly on the point, but I thought it would be an interesting variation for people to talk about... My guess at highest averages for the last decade would be Glasgow or Edinburgh... I'm gonna go look now Glasgow Tigers 1 Travis McGowan 11.72 2010 2 Craig Cook 10.45 2018 3 Joe Screen 9.80 2010 4 Richard Lawson 9.12 2015 5 Rasmus Jensen 9.05 2019 6 Aaron Summers 8.57 2016 7 Richie Worrall 8.52 2017 67.23 Edinburgh Monarchs 1 Craig Cook 10.52 2013 2 Ryan Fisher 9.69 2010 3 Sam Masters 9.03 2019 4 Kevin Wolbert 8.61 2011 5 Erik Riss 8.58 2018 6 Ricky Wells 8.40 2018 7 Max Fricke 8.07 2014 62.90 That's a no to Edinburgh but Glasgow are higher... Wonder if anyone else tops it? Doesn't help that teams like Somerset and King's Lynn haven't had full decades When Danny King first came into this league he was 11.something... Which is much higher... And I thought Kenni was in the 10.something at some point in 2010? Probably wrong though
  12. Favourite Visitors 1. Craig Cook (Any year) 2. Josh Pickering 2019 3. Aaron Summers 2018/2019 4. Lee Complin 2010/2011 5. Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen 2018 6. Broc Nicol 2019 7. Luke Ruddick 2019 Not many spring to mind for this team, don't remember individual performances over a team rider, but these few names spring to mind for me at Newcastle since I started going half way through 2010 Ooo Nico Covatti is also good value for money at Brough too
  13. 1. Kenni Larsen 2010 2. Derek Sneddon 2010 3. Stuart Robson 2011 4. Rene Bach 2010 5. Tero Aarnio 2017 6. Max Clegg 2019 7. Matthew Wethers 2019 Claes Nedermark, Ashley Morris and Ludvig Lindgren unlucky to miss out. Anton Rosen and Andrew Tully were also fun to watch, 2013 was it?
  14. Thanks Dave Need to decide when I go on holiday... And yes, some people might think I'm sad for arranging my holidays around who the Diamonds are against... But they're my team and I support them, don't want to miss a meeting, although that happens far too often Plenty of football fans are like that, but as soon as a speedway fan is, they're shot down and called sad... No wonder we're dying, we're all pessimistic and miserable
  15. This is why I've stayed away... All the gobsh!tes are in force at the minute because there's nowt to say... When's the fixtures coming out anyway?
  16. I am kinda interested to who THJ is now... Other than a poster on this forum... Seems to do a lot for the riders at least... Even if he does keep... Ummm... Cropping up on here with some rubbishe
  17. Went to Plymouth last season for the first time and I was impressed with the facilities, especially for such a small track... Was a nice little cosy home imo, food facilities were good as well, felt like I was walking into an Ekstraliga stadium when I was walking into the entrance to the stands on the 1/2 bend Haha
  18. At reserve I would like to see George Rothery get a permanent spot at number 6 and the Millar brothers share the number 7 spot. Gives them both experience and a friendly rivalry between them, without putting a whole season's worth of pressure on them. Especially considering there will be A LOT of travelling to the likes of Kent, IOW and Plymouth... They can share them rides between them. In the main body I would like to see Leon Flint and Willie Lawson at 1 and 5. Would have been nice if Luke Ruddick and Connor Coles were involved too, but maybe staying at one track season's on end isn't their goal in speedway. Be interesting to see who the final 3 riders are, whether Ryan MacDonald might pop over the country from Glasgow? Look forward to seeing a good and competitive team from the Devils, good luck to them
  19. Skorja is a massive asset for a club like Newcastle... Very impressed... Look forward to seeing ondrej also good luck for 2020 lads
  20. Of course... This actually happened and it wasn't just a story he made to make anagrams for us to guess...
  21. If we've signed nick skorja I'm going to freak out but isn't he Slovenian? Suppose he could have been on holiday in Prague too... Easily number 5 material imo... I'm excited now...
