There is no way that Matej is match fit. At times he was struggling to hold his line on the bends in The Stockholm GP. -
The stadium manager told me earlier this year that Central Park were hoping to have NL on Mondays and EL on Fridays next season. that was why they applied for planning permission for a later finish on Friday nights and this application was approved.

Poole Vs The Aces For The Title

All I want is good weather , a well prepared track and two teams giving their all. The cherry on the cake would be Belle Vue winning on aggregate. I do believe that both teams are capable of taking the trophy...... It is all to play for -
National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale
KIRKYLANE replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The track is certainly to FIM standard irrespective of what anyone has said on this forum. if it wasn't then BSI would not be in negotiations with Belle Vue regards a five year contract for international meetings. BSI visited the site recently and further talks were completed. the straights are 13 m wide and the bends are 17 m wide ......with banking. -

If you read the planning application for Belle Vue Sports Village which I have , then you will see that indeed they did require International Speedway and discussions between Belle Vue Speedway and BSI took part in order that it could happen. The World Team Cup for 2013 was originally penciled in but long delays scuppered the original plans of having it ready by then. They also insisted that it should be the National Speedway Stadium... ..... when Belle Vue approached the BSPA over this they agreed. On a side note , Manchester City Council should be given high praise for being behind the Belle Vue Sports Village from the word go. It has required an enormous effort on the part of the Council and Belle Vue Speedway to make the Belle Vue Sports village come to fruition. I should imagine the likes of Cradley , Bristol , Hull and other places wanting to have Speedway resurrected wish they had such a forward thinking Council as Manchester.. Sadly , many councils are anti Speedway.... it took a lot of effort to finally persuade Birmingham to allow Speedway and Kent had to appeal against the rejection of Speedway by Kent Council. -

Part of the Council's requirements when funding the Belle Vue Sports village was to have International Speedway events, Ongoing negotiations are taking place for a five year contract to yield such events. Hopefully they will be successful. -
leaving vacant dates for potential rain offs to be slotted in was a complete nonsense. how many times was it a beautiful day with no match and no teams available to fit a league Match in. Put al the league fixtures in within the minimum time scale. And deal with rain offs as they occur.

Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
KIRKYLANE replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
if there was a separate play off trophy perhaps sky could put up some serious money for those taking part. They get Speedway on the cheap compared with what they pay other sports -
Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
KIRKYLANE replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Whilst SKY are involved there is no way that they will be scrapped. as SKY rule the roost and the BSPA does as it's told. I have always believed that the league champions should be the team that tops the league,,,,,, but I have no problem with having a Play off system with another trophy to go for,,,, the SKY Speedway gold cup or whatever they want to name it. -
The Premier league draft system is a possibility but as Rob Godfrey has pointed out recently there are those Promoters in The PL that want to stick with a strong no 6 and are opposing the draft system. We will have to see who wins the battle ... status quo or breed more young Brits Personally , I would love to see the PL have a British draft system as were are long overdue a stint of breeding our own riders instead of being a learning curve for Young European riders.

Steve Worrall improved enormously last year from the reserve berth to No 2 in Edinburgh averages. This year he established himself as No 1 at NEWCASTLE and proved his heat leader status. There is more to come from this young man and I am sure that he will be on Newcastle's want list for 2016,

Peterborough Panthers 2016
KIRKYLANE replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Peterborough is a super race track and the standard of racing is not about which league you are in at such a good track. The World Team Cup a number of years back was the BEST meeting that I have seen in the last decade. Fabulous racing that day At the Fours this year, someone was saying that Peterborough have home advantage today. I rebuked them since the track is so good that there is not a home track advantage..... all that is required is a well prepared track and REAL racers on it. -
I do not know what the crowds are. I have been to Leicester four times in the last two years ..... and the crowds seemed much slimmer on the bends and the back straight compared with the first couple of years that Leicester had.

When I started going in 1963 , only the top world class riders were employed as riders only. The majority had their own business or their employer allowed them to book 1/2 a day or a full day off work .....Speedway was their hobby. A small number were allowed time of work at their employer's expense.

Swindon End Of Era Meeting.
KIRKYLANE replied to a4poster's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The people working at the stadium told me last night that the starting gate , lighting and all Speedway related property will be removed on the 12th October. Whatever happens there will be no Speedway at the present stadium in 2016. -
