From what I recall, the semis and finals are there to create a climax to the meeting which is greatly favoured by those filming the series and the sponsors. in the old format two bad rides and there would be no chance of getting in the top 3. if we are having a series, then I think the present format is fine

Delighted that Robert got his first SGP win. Looks like he can get silver in the overall standings… hope so

Go back to the old one off World finals…. Vojens would be grippy at the practice then At the final they took the dirt off for a slick track to suit the Danes… check with Joe Screen .. Looks like Deja vu…. Tatum tonight said…. I don’t know why they have taken the dirt off from this afternoon

Most enjoyable meeting with good racing from both sides. Over the season I must say that Ashton Boughen has been the most impressive British youngster who is very early in his career. He has produced some excellent moves to pass experienced riders. Oxford have a great prospect on their books.

Leicester must be favourites for the aggregate win. They have recently hit good for as opposed to the inconsistencies of early season. Ipswich yet again hit by severe bad luck to say the least.

Impressed with Ashley Boughen…it must be his best away performance in this league. He is definitely a rider with great potential

I remember a quality rider being quoted as saying. “ the one thing you do not do is try and go round Nicki Pedersen “ Pedersen would see a gap and go for it irrespective of any consequences of a possible crash as the gap would be regarded as too risky by most riders.

As much as it is obvious that the NSS would bea great venue and racetrack, the FIM would not sanction it due to the low capacity attendance

As much as I admire Scott, I felt the decision was correct. Two riders giving it there all in the final. Scott locked up slightly on the bend and it left Charles with nowhere to go. Great shame that it ended as it did with the crash… I feel sure Scott could have got second… but then the result would likely be 6 - 3 to Redcar anyway. There is bound to be a lot of people on both sides of the fence.

Not unexpected…one of the poorest tracks in the country by far. biggest track in the country coupled with a complete lack of any quality racing. only passing occurred when a rider left an outside gap on the bend which allowed the rider behind to go round and pass.. otherwise ride the boards and no one will pass you. I never went to Berwick for a one off meeting… always went to Edinburgh on Friday, Glasgow on Sunday and fitted Berwick in the middle. When they had the track outside Berwick town , they had a brilliant track .I remember seeing the Aces there

Many years ago, Hull had two riders in the race after two exclusions. The Hull riders rode around in the rerun. The two Hull riders were both excluded for not making a bona fide attempt to race Result…0 - O score for the race
