The lay downs have a lower centre of gravity which make it easier to handle on the bends. Even so I would be delighted to see a return to uprights with standardized engines.

It does not need to be dragged out that long. I sincerely hope that it does happen... long overdue with regards to most importantly safety and secondly costs. The engine tuners have been ripping off riders for a long time and making lots of money.

we have a new track. One can hardly expect it to be in perfect condition from the word go. To start off the track has to bed down and no matter how much tyre packing is done the track will have to be ridden in. This will take time.

The centre green is a 3G pitch. Could there be underground heating for the centre where rugby plus other sports will be played ? -
There is no doubt that Sky have their favorites both team wise and in terms of individuals. However , it is ridiculous to suggest that BelleVue or any other team should be anti Sky re Tv coverage. Belle Vue as with other teams want to show off their goods and get the publicity. I am confident the new staium and track will be a superb advertisement for our Sport.

First match on Easter Monday v Cradley. Looking forward to the return of the Colts to the NL.

Pleased to see that NKI is helping out at the beginning of the season. It is a pleasure to watch him race.

The most important aspect of the team is to pick the best available team which will give GB the best chance of winning. Choosing Scott on his home track could be a vital part of that plan. Looking back in the past should be a minor part of team picking.

Olle nygren was excludedin one race at the Internationale ridden at Wimbledon for the offense of " looking behind " -
I have absolute confidence that Chris Morton will have designed a super race track. Also, we will have a stadium that British Speedway will be proud of. My biggest delight is that we will be able to go down the road of training schools and develop young British talent in the same way that Dent Oliver started training schools and introduced the Colts in the old division 2 in the 60's.

What is most important is the view of the track. Kirky Lane had lots of areas with poor viewing as do other tracks .On the steps of the main straight was good but lower down it was poor. The new stadium will give good viewing all round . As stated before the covenant of the Greyhound stadium meant the new stadium was shunted away from the boundary wall with the Greyhound stadium. this meant an alteration from the original plans. This has meant only a small area between the 1st and 2nd bend and the Leisure Centre. a small price to pay in order to keep the original shape and length of track of the original plans. -

Great news that the opening meeting is a sell out. I was hoping it would be a sell out and most pleased to see it happen. -
All 3 leagues have their merits. Sadly some supporters are Elite only and miss out having such an attitude. The standard of the league does not matter..... All you need is a well prepared track capable of giving good racing coupled with riders of similar ability. This will produce good entertaining meetings.

The track covers are designed to reduce the chances of rain offs due to heavy rain prior to the actual day's racing. On race day track work will take place and heavy rain on the day could still create problems. The drainage and the covers will greatly reduce rain offs but is not a guarantee that they wil not happen.

It is great to see billboards advertising the World Cup. When I started watching Belle Vue there were lots of Speedway bilboards around Manchester. -
John Sampford has done a good job over the years. The new broom is sweeping through. Good luck to Rye House for the future.

Hope some positive news re Coventry's new stadium in the near future.

I noticed that the Fim fixtures show an U21qualifier at Belle Vue on Sat 21. May. Another meeting to look forward to.
-
Ready and raring to go. With the new stadium , fim meetings , Aces and Colts meetings plus others it adds up to over 35 meetings at home. I will still travel around as well . At the moment aprox. 65 meetings itemized... All I need now is the weather !!

The idea is fine. Far better to have had it on the PL 4 's weekend when lots of people will be there for the weekend and one of the exhibition halls could have catered for it.

2017 - 1 Or 2 Fixed Race Nights And When?
KIRKYLANE replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Any attempt to have fixed nights whether it be one night or two is all about enticing back the top world class riders that have departed. Poland this year have suddenly declared a number of Fridays as league meetings. I assume that the Grand prix is on the Saturday. Whatever happens , I sincerely hope that a squad system is thrown out of any thinking for the future. -
I would happily settle for any evening of teams if it meant that we went back to at least 17 teams in the top league with home and away once and all of the teams were on a level playing field.
