  1. Taking into consideration the damage done by the opening meeting , I thought it was a good crowd. Certainly a good basis to work from and improve further Without doubt the opening two meetings have given an insight into how good this track is going to be for racing entertainment. Nobody can deny that it is the best Speedway stadium in the country. Can't wait for Friday's Colts meeting
  2. COMMON SENSE PREVAILS, After being let down by his Polish side then the BSPA should be helpimh Craig ,,not hindering him
  3. Superb performance from Dan Bewley on his home track debut. Track held up well and produced some good racing. Hope the weather holds for another week so we can get meeting 2and 3 on.
  4. Perhaps when we get Friday's meeting over , then some form of sanity on this forum can reached
  5. I went to Arena twice in the same week whilst on holiday down south. On the Bank Holiday meeting the track was slick , very little passing and in terms of entertainment it was pathetic ...weather was no threat all day. 4 days later on the Friday , there was plenty of dirt down , the track was watered well and an excellent meeting in terms of entertainment.
  6. Firstly , our Good Friday start time at the Greyhound track was 1200 hrs or 1300 hrs in order to get Craig Cook up to Edinburgh for his home match, Secondly the Bank Holiday Monday meetings which are a first for Belle Vue Speedway are set for 1200 hrs because there are Stock Cars at the Greyhound track at 1500 hrs on a Bank Holiday Monday ...there is no way that the Council will let the Speedway and the Stock Cars be on at the same time due to parking problems. So 1200 hrs is a good time to start. Thirdly , Belle Vue used to go to King's Lynn for the May Bank Holiday with an 1100 hrs start time and I had no problems getting up at 0600 hrs and taking my friends to Kings Lynn picking them up at 0700 hrs..... in fact it made a great day out as we used to then go to Rye House for 1530 hrs and then the Wimbledon Internationale for 1930 hrs followed by Fish and Chips on the South Circular Road ... getting home in the early hours of the Tuesday morning ,,, bring back the good old days !!!!!
  7. It would be great to see a team in South Wales again; Hope it works out and in particular that you have the Council on your side,
  8. Here's hoping for a hat trick of away wins for the Aces. I wish there was more news about Swindon ' s new track... It has gone horribly quiet again on this front. has the planning permission gone through yet ?
  9. IF Sky stick to their guns and say they want Belle Vue to have had at least two meetings before the cameras go there , then I guess it won't be televised on the 27th..... No doubt SKY might change their minds also.....
  10. A good result for Berwick highlighting the reduced strength of Edinburgh compared to last year. Hopefully , some of the Edinburgh lower ranked riders will show some improvement and better team results for Edinburgh.
  11. Zagar does not like the Leicester track so harris in for Zagar strengthens Belle Vue
  12. The only guarantee is that this is the last season at Brandon. Rather worrying that nothing concrete has been stated yet.
  13. The World Cup semi and final are financed by those running the World Cup. They hire the stadium and are fully in charge So obviously they decide where they want it.
  14. AS Dent Oliver used to say to youngsters in the training schools " if you don't fall off occasionally then you aren't trying hard enough !! "
  15. Apart from reminding people that Speedway exists , has SKY done anything to promote our Sport in recent years.
  16. Glasgow look stronger this year and Edinburgh weaker........ the loss of Cook and Sedgman was a serious blow to play off hopes.
  17. Really pleased to see Plymouth are continuing. I was told on Thursday at Sheffield that things looked promising re Plymouth. Last year I took a friend who had no been to Plymouth to see Plymouth v Berwick as this was the only Friday that I could get there. Super meeting with excellent racing from both sides. Long may it continue.
  18. I hope those entitled to a concession stay away in protest to no concession prices. It has already been stated that 2016 is the last season at Brandon and having no concessions is an insult to those entitled to a concession.
  19. Hope for the best result and a survival package is found. Good track and entertaining racing... Sad if it goes.
  20. Gates open at 1500 hrs..... With a sell out the promotion hopes people will come early and avoid congestion near the start time. I will be there early.
  21. Whilst at berlin for the ice , there were rumours That this would be the last Assen. I hope not,
  22. I went to Ipswich last year for the first time in 27 years. Newcastle were the opposition and they outgated Ipswich in the first half and built up a lead... very little passing. Some good racing in the second half but nothing that would lead me to think that I will be back soon.... perhaps another 27 years if I last that long.
  23. point of information ... There are two raised terraced stands on the first bend. For those that like first bend action fill your boots !!
  24. Pleased to see that Craig has won the srbf meeting at King's Lynn tonight. Well done
  25. An excellent field for the first meeting in the new stadium. Many other first meetings have had much poorer fields.
