In the leicester meeting before the BYC they wanted to cut short the first meeting to get the Youths in. The ref said no .. you must finish the first meeting before you can move on to the BYC It was in the speedway star

Last time they had promotion relegation there was a get out clause which meant both clubs could elect where they rode the following year if they did not like the result !!!!!

Well done Swindon. Fluctuating scores all night but 13 and 15 were the downfall for Wolves Wolves seem to have a habit of losing by one point.....remember the Belle Vue meeting where Bobby Ott won the last heat to clinch the league points on the night by one solitary point.. and hence the title.

I am certain that with most tracks renting from a stadium that one night a week for a league is not logistically possible. Two nights per week for one league has got a lot more chance .but it still requires an enormous amount of agreement and common consent to work Personally i think two nights per league for the top two leagues makes a lot of sense.

I believe the majority of fans would like to see the end of the double points. Most non Speedway fans when told of the rule just say how stupid is that !!!

Looking forward to this meeting. The last Colts meeting v Plymouth produced a lot of good racing despite Plymouth being beaten by a big score. Cannot understand those that stay away because it is NL standard. They are missing out on a real treat,,,,, £10 adult £8 concession and under 18s free !!!!

Hello Gustix Alice Hart took over from E O Spence and ran Belle Vue Speedway and was the first woman to be in Charge of a British Speedway team She did not ride.... her previous involvement was simply working with E O Spence.. apologies for the error. However I did find out two names of women who who did ride at Belle Vue,,, Eva Asquith ( Leeds) and Dot Cowley ( Stockport ) ,, apart from Fay Taylour who is well known as a Speedway rider.

I cannot back this up with evidence but my memory says she rode. I will check with a Belle Vue guru friend

The play offs are an important part of the Tv coverage and here to stay Rugby went down the same road as Speedway and then came back to it's senses and had the team that topped the league as league champions and a separate trophy for the winners of the play off That is very acceptable in my view... the best of both worlds
