  1. Sam Masters has said what Nicki said to him, and I believe it - I think it was along the lines of 'Next time I'll put you in the F**** fence'. I can't lip read, no. I have however previously seen similar behaviour from Nicki when, for example he laughed and made the yapping hand at zagar while sneering 'F*** you, yeah f*** you. In that incident as I recall he was hiding behind a few people who were holding him And Zagar apart. I've often thought he deserves a slap. As I say, I can't lip read and have no unique talents, but I have an opinion of Nicki's behaviour that I am comfortable with.
  2. I believe Nicki and Doyle have both come off the worse of the on track incidents in the GP's this year, and they are both hard / sometimes reckless. I am not a Nicki hater. However, I believe Masters - I have seen Nicki do this before and in my mind it's diabolical, snide stuff. Put the arm around you, pull you close as if you're friends and sneer horrible threats / insults - I know (we all know) that he is capable of this, and I'd much rather someone was honest than do that. It happened at school it's a horrible feeling, and usually bullies / psychos are the only people I've met who behave like that. If I was Masters I'd have been pretty much the same, and I'm no fighter.
  3. I agree that the sport needs to join the 21st century - and seeing as this is a Glasgow thread we are leading by example. What is needed is more young riders coming through which is coming on. The premier to my mind is a better league than the elite (the clue is in the name - call something elite and you are asking for trouble). I'd love to see us and or Edinburgh (under different management I would think) running a team like Northside Stars. Or even a National league team. I would 100% go and watch it. I love watching the young lads who are really enthusiastic and unpredictable on the track. However, I definately want weekly speedway at the least. It's not like football when you can nip out for a game yourself or watch the local amateurs. I want more speedway not less, and tbh as long as there is a good level of competition, I'm not that bothered about having the best riders in the world. Why should we have? Poland Should! I can watch the GP's for that.... but I'd like a good, solid Glasgow team, with good competitive meetings and a few teams every year in with a shout. Anyway that's off track, yes was a bit disappointed with Jonas, but to be fair he didn't blow me away at Glasgow.
  4. This was a great GP, next year the crowd will be even bigger. The racing was fantastic. .......and we all know that Nicki did his usual sarky f***you buddy thing when he and masters were coming off - remember how he spoke to Zagar?. They are both hotheads but Nicki is box office. Only speedway fans could look at that GP and see the negatives. It's the naturally terminal mindset of people who've been shafted by dodgy promoters for years, but the GP was great.
  5. Glasgow twitter posting eveyone elses signings........hopefully we see Summers re -signing soon.
  6. Summers has publicly stated that he wants to ride for Glasgow next year. Lawson is an asset. Morris we expect to be going tbh. So the only way Blobby could possibly be right is if we sold Lawson for someone superior. I'm a Lawson fan so that would only leave Cook. I just cannot see Tigers being in a worse position next year. BTW So looks like the Elite is going to go all Friday? Of course that wouldn't affect us. Anyway, I'm away for a lie down and watch the GP again.
  7. They should introduce a rule that you are not allowed to carry anything when being interviewed. Hancock would probably get the Monster logo tatooed on his face though.
  8. I enjoy a bit of argy bargy after the heat tbh. Hope to god Speedway doesn't end up like football, where every episode of handbags becomes a day of shame. Speedway doesn't need that hand wringing nonsense.... and that heat 8 was an awesome battle on the track followed by a terrific right hook from Masters. In this instance Pedersens team deserved what they got. the way he kicked the back wheel at Masters out was woeful. Edited to add - very impressive event and entertainment.
  9. Summers and Lawson are shoe ins. I think they are both assets anyway. Fisher would do me because at the end of the day what was he meant to do? Shoddy treatment IMO although by the letter of the law. I suppose the question then is - how top heavy do you want the side. What with all the averages and race days etc it starts to confuse me.
  10. Speedway Star seems to be pretty much assuming he's gone. There's a wee interview with Campbell on page 3. A big interview on pg14-15.
  11. I can see him resigning for Edinburgh from a cash perspective and it's only up the road from Manc. Do think the guy is on the cusp of greatness, though. I'm waiting to see how he does at the new track in Manchester but I'd love to see him hammering it next year and moving into the GP's in the next couple. Now he's got this tuning mob on board and he is such an athlete I really think the sky's the limit. Hope so anyway as he deserves it. He'd be a loss to any team. The Belle Vue 2016 thread is full of praise. You never know - he seemed to be saying he wants three teams in 2016.
  12. Clan's winter right enough although there's a bit of a crossover, but still leaves the Poland issue as it's too late to allow travel.
  13. About the toilets? or the food? Joking aside, I was delighted to see their celebrations in the bar- they nearly brought the ceiling down.
  14. I don't see it happening next year - would be unable to go? Belle Vue on a Friday if we are on a Sunday would be advantageous to us in the PL.
  15. I hope Belle vue ride on a Friday (if they wish to, as it seems to be a rumour)
  16. Just an aside talking about the EL on SKY - I've got NOWTV and you can get SKY Sports full shebang for 7 quid a night or 10 for the week. So likes of Poole Bel Vue I got for ten pounds and watched it so often I got Nigel's ESP and knew the results as soon as the tapes went up. HOPEFULLY they'll cover more premier next year. Worth it if you are into Speedway as you don't need all the sky package. This has nothing to do with the thread.
  17. I would think so - the promotion are not going to keep everyone happy because they are ruthlessly ambitious and professional, but I'd rather that than the back of a fag packet, second string to the dogs stuff we might otherwise expect. Edinburgh have proved without a shadow of a doubt that they are the best team in the Premier and I'm sure they want to put an end to that.
  18. If we have Summers and Lawson we should potentially have two number ones, but realistically - and I don't think it can happen due to our assets - You want Cook if he is riding in the premier. No Criticism of anyone but he is head and shoulders at the moment. However, an on form Lawson and captain fantastic look (almost) top notch. I really want us to be able to do it next year. We need to the best from the NL we can get for example - but I suppose on the other side looking at Kauko's average and his abscence we have been missing something for quite some time. We have the advantage that riders want to come here if they are ambitious.
  19. I'd take Ritchie tbh. He can ride Ashfield and also is good in a scuffle. I think as you say Morris is a non starter. Sarj's average is potentially only going up so would def want hi. Plus he's a nice wee guy.
  20. Tapeworm, I'm not presuming to speak for older fans or anyone ( and certainly not deriding them - I go with a lot of older folks). Personally I prefer the Sunday as well!!! Although Obviously the majority of weeks are summer so it shouldn't be freezing. The point is this seems to be the promotions thinking.
  21. I'm assuming the market research has been done and speedway is seen as a weekend, family activity - so they are going for a few different audiences. Hardcore fans, young people as part of a Friday night out, older fans etc. There is something for everyone at Ashfield. So it should be weekend and it needs to accomodate the Polish league. That leaves Friday.
  22. Wasn't there on Saturday - but Friday night was the best atmosphere I've been at Speedway. Sure Saturday was the same. We got beat but these are the good times and we will be talking of them in years to come. I don't mind a bit of arguing right enough, but at the end of the day both sides have had a fantastic year. Which is good for Speedway. Never thought we would win the league and was delighted to be there on Friday night in the surreal atmosphere. Loved it loved it loved it.
