  1. To "Jenga" With no answer to my last post to you, with no reply I take it that you where not at the meeting and was able to see for yourself what went on.
  2. First where you at the meeting ? Second read the post again, the word " theoretically " was used.
  3. I don't know what went on with my reply to "Panthers89" post but some how it looks as if the bottom line his part of his post. This is my comment and not part of Panthers89. Sorry for this.
  4. Re Play-Offs, it is possible for a team that finishes 4th in the league to go on and win the play offs and so become the league champions: Can this be a good thing for the top of the league team.
  5. I have just seen the result of the Kent v Belle Vue meeting " abandoned after heat 13 ( curfew )" I take this as a planning restriction been placed by the local council ? This may be what you were told but I know the person who did all the shouting to all the East Hull councillors and was very proud of getting the air horns banned !!
  6. I understand that some clubs have there own stadiums but taking Somerset as an example, they race night is Friday and a second been Wednesday both with a cut off time. I believe this cut off time was given to the club from the local council as part of the planning agreement. If this the case then a change of night will be a change of usage and then further planning consent will be required. We all know how some councils "just love speedway" and would use any way to put all sorts of restrictions on the local club. As I said in my first post please don't put clubs in a position where they have to go to the local council. ( I have used Somerset as an example only because of their race nights and nothing more as I hope that they have a good relationship with the local council )
  7. After reading two articles in this weeks Speedway Star Jason Doyle says there has been talk of the Premiership Clubs racing on a Monday and Thursday. Rob Godfrey believes that fixed race days will happen and that the Championship Clubs should stay away from these two days and by doing so riders doubling up to the premiership league would work. So if Mondays and Thursday are used in the Premiership League as it stands as of today One team race Mondays and One on Thursdays, with Three other teams having Monday or Thursdays as there second night, leaving Three teams without a declared race night. Would these teams have to go to the local council to request a change of nights if the landlords of the venues can fit in a change? Then theirs the Championship League Three teams race on a Thursday but only one having Monday as their second night and rents the ground from a landlord. I don't think that they will be allowed to change because of the stadiums use. IMO something does need to be done with having set race nights BUT PLEASE PLEASE don't make it so teams must apply to any council for a change of race night as it only takes one person to object as happened in Hull ( Craven Park ) with the Air Horns getting banned. The person worked in the council building and knew who to get on side when they where discussed at a council meeting hence the ban!!

  9. First I have no axe to grind with any rider but IMO it is about time that a rule was made that governs riders to two leagues only. The National ( development ) League and if the riders are good enough they can progress to the Championship, The same between Premiership and Championship. I can not see how a rider who races in the Premiership can gain any "development" by riding in the National League.
  10. So ,Josh Auty gets a 14 day ban for changing his mind, Chris Holder gets 28 days " plus " for refusing to ride and Craig Cook seems to have got off free of any bans etc. I would like to know why when quite a few people witnessed the incident and the so-called powers that be do nothing or am I pre judging them
  11. I placed this on the Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events page before I found these pages so I ask again, anyone know the latest on the Craig "pits riding" incident?
  12. So would I BUT Rob is not the team manager he was on the centre green when Dave Peet made the decision in the pits one race too early imo.
  13. Could someone in the know please clarify the injured riders rr when a rider has an injury during a meeting and can not carry on racing. We had an experience of this at Scunthorpe. The home team rider came off his machine ( 1st bend 1st lap with help ) The away rider was excluded from the rerun but due to injury the Scunthorpe rider could not, BUT because he had had 3 rides the only riders allowed to take his place was one of the 2 reserves. This was all explained over the PA from the referee. So on to last nights meeting of Leister V Swindon. Heat 15, Troy Batchelor fell (with Help) and could not take his place in the re run , the same as happened at Scunthorpe only this time Nick Morris was allowed in the race. Now as Troy had had more than 3 rides how can Nick take his place when according to the referee at Scunthorpe the only option is for a reserve to take his place. WHAT is the correct interpretation of this rule.. After this I do hope that the 3 riders who had accidents during this meeting are up and racing soon.
  14. RE Redcar v Scunthorpe and Ipswich v Scunthorpe fixtures. Time for big changes in the Scunthorpe team. Over to you Rob!!
  15. Nice to see Ben Hopwood racing after his heavy fall and withdrawal from Fridays meeting at Scunthorpe.
  16. Totally agree. I feel sorry for ALL the black cats Rob must have upset this season to have the luck that the team is having.
  17. THANKS Rob, just the job, lets hope that they all keep clear if any injuries and the Scorpions are at the top of the league at the end of the season.
  18. I totally agree with you. What I would like to know is how many off these so called fans who do all shouting can ride a speedway bike and RACE it ???
  19. Seams to fall in with what I was told by the fans on the 15th Sept. ( but not the bit about the van )!!!
  20. So all we all can do is wait and see what develops on this and hope that the Sheffield management come clean and let the fans know what did happen and stop the rumours.
  21. So it looks as if it is true that he has been sacked. Is this another team Playing the rule book instead of telling the truth and comming clean to all.
  22. The Banter from the Sheffield fans was worth the enterance fee, from the state of the track, the pies from the cafe not to mention the riders. One topic of discussion was the hissy fit Jason Garrity had in the pits at Ipswich with Josh Bates. The fans all were of the opinion that he had been sacked by Damien Bates for refusing to apologise to Josh and Eric for his threats and bad language and does not have any hand problems using this to use R.R. to the end of the seasion.. Does any one know if this true or is it just Track Banter.
