Oh no, not Richard as well. How many teams have lost their No 1 and their skipper on the first day of the season. Hope your ok Richie and hope Kyle will soon be back.
-
I thought the writing was on the wall when Danno Verge won a race !! Was told that Kent looked very good at Iwade, and so it proved. Danny Ayers and James Shanes were brilliant, a shame a few more Kent fans didn't come to witness it. Thought the boy Thomas looked promising too. The Eagles, well, NO excuses, but were we beaten by the better team or the better prepared team !! Lets hope this performance was a one off and that Kyle is soon back. Was going to Sittingbourne tonight, but have to stay home and do my hair !!

If you want a laugh, read my post on Individuals, I have just spent the weekend at Belle Vue and Coventry, OMG. Can't wait for the proper speedway to start, bring on the National League. Lets watch the kids, the BRITISH KIDS, and bring some sanity back. I actually saw a Brummie fan with a tee shirt hailing them as champions !!!!! Did we not win the play off ??

Are there many Eastbourne fans going to Sittingbourne to support Kelsey in the u21 semi.

New Sponsorship Deal For The 2016 Campaign
GASBLOKE replied to sussex bulldog's topic in National League Speedway
The prices they charge for trips always seem quite expensive, its about time a big sponsor was involved too. Good for the NL, the HOME of british speedway !!! Well done to James Easter. Come on the NL, don't let this generous gesture down. -
Have just seen the u21 semi final line up at Kent. How very sad, Kelsey Dugard, unattached. That has to be wrong, he's good and with time on his side lets hope he makes it somewhere. Go on and win it Kelsey, although with Shanes on his own track, 2nd place would be good.

Who is interested in the SEC anyway !!! If the SEC or a Grand Prix clash on a Saturday night, why not have a Saturday pm start time of 2 pm ish and then lay on something special, a big screen, food and booze in the clubhouse so that fans can watch the so called BIG meeting together. Make a bit on the bar and grub. GP would finish at a similar time to Saturday night speedway, so fans would not be any later leaving, just arriving early for the REAL speedway. Feel sorry for Kelsey too, surely there must be a spot in the National League for him (Kent or IOW). With their stupid curfew, should we not be AT Sittingbourne at 12 and at Arlington at 1830. Or do they have a pre breakfast, post breakfast and pre siesta curfew as well !!!!!!! Anyway, they are surrounded by commercial property on three sides and a council estate two football pitches away on the other side, so why a curfew anyway ?

Just read through 38 pages (get a life), some of us do write some rubbishe don't we !!! Once again, I think Martin and Connor have put together a very competitive side. I think it will be tough to stop Birmingham this year, Drury still upset about us using BWD and Spiller last year. I'm sure he will have something up his sleeve if Wodgeneck doesn't fire on all cylinders. But like last year, the EAGLES will be the REAL CHAMPIONS by winning the play off !!!!! Predict 1st, Brummies 2nd, Eagles 3rd, Rye House 4th, Coventry 5th, Mildyhall 6th, Cradley 7th, Buxton 8th, Kings Lynn 9th, Belle Vue Bottom, Stoke Lets just hope that it,s a great speedway year, serious injuries to a minimum, and a British world champion by October.
-
We the Eagles, really did win the National League last year, we won the play off !! But this year it will be all Brummies, I think you will win the lot.

Been missing for a while, care of her majesty, so have missed a bit, they don't do the speedway star and I can't be bothered to read through 24 pages of crap. So, what is the Eastbourne team likely to be ? Kyle Hughes is a good promising lad, with terrific performances for a visitor at Arlington, only second in effort to Ayers. Georgie a sensation, Jake Knights scoring for KL last year are quite poor really, and know nothing about Nick Phillips, but if he makes the transition like Georgie we will be well away. Ben is a steady second string at NL level, fair play to him, with Belle Vue Colts starting at the new venue, Connor must have him on brilliant point money !! I hear the Spillers are studying, good for them, more to life than speedway, sensible parents I reckon. Why would we let Richard Andrews go anywhere ?, take away his nightmares at Mildenhall and he had a good season, we need to keep him. How the point level is doing I have no idea, but it leaves one more. Brennan is nowhere near ready, YET !! Bates and Owen are far too timid on their bikes, not happy to get stuck in. Cottham was hopeless. I have a spare ticket for Warsaw 2016 if anyone can find a seat on a plane !!

2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers
GASBLOKE replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Scratching my head re qualifiers, wild cards should be forgotten. You can't alter too much in one season but over 2, what about this. 2017 GP's Tai, Greg and Nicki get in as top 3 from 2015. So 13 more required. Early in 2016, National Champions should have their own qualifying meeting. It is the world championships, so ALL national champions should be involved. Janiro USA, Iversen DK, Bjerk NOR, Lindback SW, Doyle AUS, Janowski POL, Sargeant NZ, Milik CZ, Kudryaskov USSR, Pavlic CRO, Covatti IT, Lahti FIN, Puodzuks LAT, Zagar SLOVE, Burza SLOVA, Tressarieu FR, Wallner AU, Wolbert GER, Karpov UKR. There's 19, the top 3 get in. That leaves 10 more required from qualifying meetings. NOT including those who have already had a qualifying chance. 10 riders from, Holder, Kildeman, Jonsson, Jepson Jensen, Batchelor, Harris, Jonasson, Kasprzak, Hampel, Zmarslik, Przedepelski, Michelsen, Masters, 2 x Pawlicki's, Lindgren. 16 riders, top 10 over 2 qualifying meetings make the gp's. -
I may have missed it, but, are the dates for GP qualifying out yet. Would like to go back to Lonigo. I have a spare ticket for the Warsaw GP if anybody is interested. Good shout

Not been about for a while, just catching up. Danno Verge, please NO NO NO, or are we using him as a bike pusher. He does NOT have the ability to go further, another Niall, good kids but both think they are miles better than they really are. Some strange arguments over what a Cat 1,2,3 or 4 is and where BWD stands in all that. Best sit tight on that one. Massive shame about Kelsey, if its true !!, although it must be tough for the poor kid. IF the National League is NOT professional, why would Ben want to travel from Manchester for a home meeting, Richard from Exeter etc. If its not professional, where does the £'s go each week, say £8K per week/ 20 home meets = £160K plus what the sponsors put in. So good we have kept Georgie, he has the ability to be a top National League star, we must keep Richard and Daniel. Ayers would have been a good signing. Will have a spare ticket for Warsaw if anybody is interested.

Sorry bud, that's what I meant, not enough money in GP's !! or too much money in Polish League racing and the Euro's. I know they are at work and its their job, but wouldn you sooner be world champ or the richest bloke in the pits. Just found time to watch the Aussie GP, (been on a Med Cruise). I hope all you Bomber knockers are happy now, even poor Chris mentioned you all in his interview following that ridiculous exclusion. He has the toughest qualification for 2016 and has come through it, a lot of so called better riders have not. Doyley has been a revelation, hope he is ok and ready to give it another go, wasn't that long ago he was at reserve for the Sky Sports Pirates.
-
Absolutely NO WAY should Sayfutdinov get invited back. Let the greedy little sod try his luck in qualifying for 2017 and if he manages what Bomber has, then good luck to him. Far too many people knocking Bomber, he is a legend, keeps bouncing back and giving his best, and he's the best we've got (Tai, I think continues to nail his flag to the Ozzie flagpole, that Ozzie twang in his voice, and singing the Oz national anthem in Melbourne). Don't get me wrong, he's great, but needs to make up his mind, England or Oz. Different subject, did I hear that Sam Masters will not be fined for that right hook. Fair play to him, Pedersen'smechanic deserved a slap, but with Nikki being fined previously (and Greg), it doesn't set much of an example by letting him get away with it.
-
Thanx guys, my thought was that "I believe" not that it was nailed on. But I still ca'nt see a Premier League promoter taking that chance even at 5.00.

Tee shirts in only 3 sizes, there are MEN that follow the Eagles you know !!!! What about us fat bastards ?

2016 Sgp Swc Calendar & Info's
GASBLOKE replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Overpriced, over rated Cardiff. £180 a night to lay on dog blankets at the "Cheap" Big Sleep. And you have to pay to get over the bridge too. I have been loads of times, but it has cost us a fortune. I can do flights, accommodation and tickets at Warsaw AND Prague cheaper than the one event at Cardiff. I would be in favour of getting it moved, can the Manc's guarantee a dry Saturday in July ? probably not !!!! -
For what its worth, I reckon the 2016 all conquering Eagles will have a line up a bit like this. Bradley will stay, because of his NZ status I believe he has to enter the Premier League on a 7.00 ave, NO Premier League promoter will take that chance, several NL riders have dabbles in the PL this year, NONE of them with much success. So BWD at No 1. Georgie has so many friends from Kent that follow him to Eastbourne and has a few local sponsors which after his first year in the sport will be difficult to pull away from, so Georgie at No 2. I think it would be sensible to say a big thank you to Ben Hopwood for 2015 and all his efforts, but it is fairly impracticable to drag someone from Manchester for home meetings on the south coast, can see him at Buxton next year. And Marc Owen never seems to stay at one club very long so despite being club captain I think he will be on the move to Rye House or Kent for 2016. So step up Dan Spiller, I reckon he will be back, he has had half a season and I think is a lot better than we all thought he would be, so he should move up to heat leader at No 3. Richard Andrews has had a great season I reckon, apart from his Mildenhall appearances !!!!, not his favourite track obviously. He has come on in the latter part of the season and despite that horrible drive back and forth to Exeter I think he will be with us and hopefully not the Isle of White. So Rich at No 4. Kelsey seems to be a mixed up kid, don't know him at all, buts it my reckoning that perhaps having to dance to his father and his brothers tune all the time is tough. We all fought with our brothers more than anyone else, didn't we. If he can rise to the occasion, and I'm sure he has the technical nonse and skill to progress in the sport, he is still young remember. I would start Kelsey at No 5. So reserves, wouldn't it be stupid for Dan to travel all that way and leave his brother at home doing his homework. I think Ethan will be brought in to start at No 6. And to stick with our current grass track theme, I think it would be worth taking a chance with Charley Powell, and hope he progresses the same as George and Rich. So, 1, Bradley Wilson-Dean 2, Georgie Wood 3, Daniel Spiller 4, Richard Andrews 5, Kelsey Dugard 6, Ethan Spiller 7, Charley Powell Now some clever git will say that lot adds up to 50 something points !! Just my thought and maybe a few talking points amongst them. Anyone having trouble with Kup Bilet in Poland. They are a nightmare to try and get hold off. Eventually got my ticket for Warsaw 2016 through Viagogo, but still trying to get a ticket for the Sunday meeting too. Flights and Hotel sorted. Shame the Eastbourne club or Eastbourne supporter could not arrange a group to go to some of the GP's. If you hav'nt been, GO. Copenhagen, Warsaw and Prague are fantastic. Only Cardiff is the overated, overpriced bad apple of the bunch, £180 for a night under dog blankets, yeah right o !!.
-
Great if he gets near to the 11, but I reckon he'll be nearer the 2. Really going to miss Georgie Wood. Who can do the R/R ? There is a link for the radio on Speedway Updates, commentary not bad.
-
I have sent so many e-mails to Kup Bilet, after going last year, but no reply. The system will not recognise my login !!!! So will have to buy tickets next week for both meetings. Thanks for the info about the buses. The Sunday meeting is a 2pm start, so plenty of time to get back to Centrum for the Modlin Bus. I originally thought a pre booked cab would be better if it was a later start time.
-
Why do we have to have Laurence Rogers as our manager, it's not the toughest job in the world, you just need to know the rules inside out and know your own riders, Connor Dugard would have been a much better option. And Martin Knuckey as a guest, looks like he's ridden here twice this year, 2 points and 11 points. I don't think the club studied the statistics much before they picked him, although he rode with promise at Arlington. Its on the radio, listen to those Eagles wrap up some more silverware.
-
After last years debacle at Warsaw, I have decided to go again next year. Tickets on sale tomorrow, which include a programme and access to the Sunday meeting too. Flights and Hotel are booked. I am about to book a taxi from Modlin Airport to the centre of Warsaw. I'm travelling up early morning from Eastbourne to Stansted for the 0855 to Modlin at 1210, so will book my cab for 1245 on the Saturday lunchtime and back to the airport on the Sunday evening for the 2140 flight back to Stansted. I don't normally divulge my travel arrangements to all and sundry, but should anyone want to share the cab ride, you will only have to sit with me for 45 mins !!!!
-
A massive shame when a teams has to consider closing down, although at least for Heathens fans, they may not have THEIR team, but there is plenty of speedway in the midlands. Just imagine if the Eagles were in the same position, we have nothing for miles and miles. Kent, but with their silly time frame it makes travelling impossible. Keep the faith Cradley, can't the fans chip and make it work ? how much is required to run for a season ? As in football, most riders/players are mercenaries and WILL get a ride/game somewhere, but the fans are here for LIFE, despite the ups, downs and the really downs !!
-
With Danny Ayers, wether he scores points or not, he will certainly be giving is all for Cradley but it will not save them from a OMMERING.
