  1. With the National League looking to bring on young riders. Why do we need to talk about Hurry, Mason, Atkin, Armstrong etc. Lets get a kid in and see if Eastbourne's coaching is up to scratch. We really need someone other than and his dad or his brother in Kelsey's ear, we all know that kids and siblings usually do the opposite of why they are told by older family members, I am sure he and Tom can up their ave by 2. If it is to be a surprise, it will not be anyone from last years greensheet ave's.
  2. If it was me, you'll be glad its not !! But there are not many left to choose from. Jack Smith would have opened a few eyes but may have needed a re - jiggle. I would have Jack Kingston and Chris Widman as our last two riders. Baseby Widman Coles Kingston Wood Brennan Powell How's that for a long shot.
  3. Fair Play mate. I hail to your greater knowledge. I'll try again. And Kent ?
  4. At the end of the day, once again, speedway fans are in apposition of having the piss extracted. We keep paying our money, follow your team at home, some people even to go to away meetings !! Every bloody time, it is one part or another of speedways governing body that makes a big balls up. We all just moan, moan and moan (just like I'm doing now), but like a huge bunch of anortak wearing morons, we will back to witness the next f___ up. And then moan again. If this was the job of the match referee to inform either management of a mistake in their submitted line ups, wether it by averages, guests or R/R, then he MUST come out and apologise to the fans, and except FULL responsibility. I guarantee, we will here no more about it, that big BSPA carpet will be lifted and another load of rubbish will be brushed under it. Well said, on the same wavelength there. Right, I have a few fireworks to let off for the grandkids, eat a few hot dogs then get my head down to try a find the five instances that this rule was broken. If I find it before I fall into a coma, I'll post later. Better still, someone else do it and I'll have some beers with me hot doggies !!! Well that didn't take too long. On May 6th, Tom Wooley and Joe Lawlor guested for Mildenhall at Belle Vue, then on May 13th, Wooley and Lawlor rode for Belle Vue against Eastbourne. On August 17th, Ben Hopwood guested for IOW at Belle Vue then on August 25th, Hopwood also guested for Kent at Belle Vue.
  5. It is up to the respective managers to declare the correct team, this rule would not have got past big Glen. Drury should know, understand and carry out the rules as they stand, not take it on himself that because that rule has been broken six times this season that he should assume the rule was not being enforced. He has managed to use the rules to his own divide this season, keeping those two at reserve, slowing the meeting down on purpose at Kent so as to win with the aid of the curfew. So it is Graham Drury's fault. £13 to watch a KO Cup final that doesn't mean much anyway (the carry on afterwards you would have thought we were world champion). Then to find out that the oppo's No 1 isn't illegible. Luckily for the Eastbourne fans that would like to see competitive speedway rather than just their team winning, where treated to first class displays from the two youngest kids on show. Without Tommy B and of course JPB the meeting would have been a complete waste of time. Winning the league over 22 matches IS the thing to win, and even with the ridiculous play offs, it was the Brummies who came out on top. I think Eastbourne will have learnt a lot this year and will hopefully put it to good use next year. Tee shirts use to say "Happines is 40-38" how right they were. All it needed was for the Birmingham manager to follow the rules correctly, if it was up to the BSPA to contact teams to advise of an inillegible rider, they would be doing the managers job for them. If so, the BSPA should have told Martin or Connor Dugard not to use the ineffective Stoneman as guest for the play off 2nd leg, and advised them to choose better !!!!!!!! The speedway season is about the 22 league matches, not plays off, mickey mouse cup matches should be for the also rans at the bottom of the league. Brummies were the best team by far, so well done JPB, you managed to carry them for the whole season. What an upcoming star he will be.
  6. This IS only National League speedway, Georgie and the love of his life, Lauren are expecting their first child, due date 24 th Oct. Like any responsible father to be, he would not want to be away and miss the said birth.
  7. Jack Smith was not guilty of taking Verge out in heat 2, Verge is one of the weakest riders in this division, timid on a bike and bottled it. When was the Clifton incident, jesus Christ, get over it, Dave Kennett knocked a few off in the 1970's, but I bet their still NOT whinging about it. Is Clifton still whinging about it ? I doubt it. So why should the few stupid kent fans continue to make something of it.
  8. Bloody hell, what a lot of fuss over nothing. I was at the Kent/Brummies match last night, and we think we've got problems !!!!!!!!
  9. Thanks guitar art, we all love speedway, we should all be pulling the same way. My two hours was including a tractor with only one gear and not enough dirt on the track to grade anyway. There was a blue line appearing as Tom Bacon won heat 3. Of course he wasn't in a hurry, he had no curfew. Drury was just cute. I hope Connor Dugard has the balls to do the same if the case ever arose.
  10. My last one on this topic. I have just read some of the other posts. Whitlegang, you are an idiot, end of. Will somebody please print which of the rules Graham Drury or the Brummies broke in achieving this win. Graham and his team were just cute, obviously cuter than their counterparts. This away win was caused by, if you like, the Kent fans inability to get their club to get a bloody move on. Another thing, they could save some print space in the as they allow spaces for fans to fill in second half races, that's a bloody joke, bet they've never been seen.
  11. I hadn't seen the Brummie post before I wrote my epilogue. Do not agree with some of it. Verge did make a meal of his fall, but I thought Clifton was brilliant to lay his bike down, I hope the other guy thanked him for that. At the end of the day, if you do not get a move on, two hours is not enough time to get a meeting down. If it was all done in 1 hour 15 mins, we would have the moaners demanding some money back !!
  12. Oh, and if it had gone to heat 15, Danny and Smiley would have got a 5-1 and Kent would have won 46-44, so get yer fingers out next time !!!!
  13. A neutral Eastbourne fan, who went to watch the so called "clash of the titans". At 6.30 we had to endure two kids poodling round the track, and one impressive one, Nathan Aiblett I believe. Than the teams were brought out on a trailor for a poor excuse of a parade. The kids should have been on at 6.15, the parade should have been the riders on their bikes for one quick parade lap. Do the toss in the pits, although at this level I doesn't think it makes any difference anyway. Three times I have been to Sittingbourne now and have yet to see a heat 15, pathetic. If it has to be 8.30, start at 6 pm, locals can still get there for the start, not many away fans travel as they can't get there for 6.30 so a 6 pm would make no differenced to them anyway. A decent pit marshall should be employed to ensure that the four bikes and their four riders are ready to go before the previous race has finished. Now Graham Drury has been in a position to use the clock, because of Kents ridiculous curfew and their unwillingness to get on with the meeting, other teams will follow suit if they are in a similar position. At 8 o'clock Kent fans were shouting "get on with it", I suppose they could see what was coming. The Darryl Ritchings fall and trying to get the race rerun to give Jack PB a second chance was a despicable act, at least lie down and pretend your hurt, not jump up the moment the red light comes on and ride back to the pits. I'm glad the referee saw through that and awarded the 5-1v to Kent. But this has happened in speedway many times and will continue to be footballs "dive". No Kent fan could put his hand on his heart and say that they wouldn't want Luke Clifton to lay his bike down to give Luke Bowen a second chance from the gate, should the position arise. This Saturday at Arlington, Ellis gates and is leading by a mile, Charley is 2nd, Bowen 3rd and Clifton at the back, lap two, Clifton lays his bike down, red light, rerun, Ellis always wins anyway, but at a second attempt Bowen gets the better of Powell, Kent go down 2-4 not 1-5, so you will find ALL teams do it when it suits them. After heat 14, Jack Smith came round on his winners lap, a big fist, wave and a kiss to his girlfriend and mum who are sat just in front of me, the same as he had done after his five race victories, he was ecstatic. Then some Kent fan, a women, starts fffffing and blinding at Jack, calling him a cheat, (why ?), not realising she was standing behind Mrs Smith, this lady then started on Jacks mum and g'friend. Eastbourne are out of the race for the title because of our never ending injury situation, and the Brummies are miles better than the Kings. I reckon it will be Brummies, Eagles, Kings and Belle Vue as the top 4, with Brummies beating Kent in the play off. I couldn't get any more neutral if I tried. .
  14. I think I may have said the same sort of thing.
  15. Subject change. British Speedway, far to many teams, not enough riders. One decent league, get rid of all the GP riders, slow the bikes down, return the tracks to be bumpy and with loads of dirt on them. ALL the old farts tells us, and you can read about how great the racing was, in front of massive crowds. The so called big stars of our sport want, engines that will go as fast as possible, tracks that are like a billiard table, a cap, loads of ridiculous tattoo's and a drinks bottle to wave around in front of the cameras. Just as this country will self implode if things don't change radically soon, so will speedway. If you follow the decline, you will be lucky to see any speedway by 2025. It won't worry me, I won't be here, but come on, someone at the top HAS to do something. Some say a Barry Hearn type of person will be good, but it will make the top 12 of the worlds riders even more elite than they think they are now. Happy days
