  6. Bears Dealt Huge Blow On The Eve Of The Season As Jorgenson Is Ruled Out! It feels like DeJa’Vu for the Agilia Bears after losing James Shanes just weeks before the start of the 2023 season, now unfortunately Thomas Jorgensen has had a huge setback in his recovery and will require surgery on his back injury which will rule him out of the start of the season. Co-promoter Jamie Swales said ‘We never felt it was a gamble when we signed Thomas despite his injuries, Thomas’s rehabilitation was well ahead of schedule, and he reassured us everything was going well. Unfortunately, last week that all changed when he started getting pain in his back, after a visit to the specialists he was told an operation would now be needed. We all wish Thomas well in his recovery and hopefully we see him back on track at some point in 2024, but we now find ourselves once again looking for a replacement with only weeks until the season starts. Talks are already underway with several riders, and we hope to be able to announce a signing very soon’

  9. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT START TIME CHANGE TO 2PM So the weather forecast that has been on our side l week drastically changed last night and now heavy rain is due right on the original start time of 5pm After consultation with the riders and the Redcar promotion we have decided to move the start time to 2pm we know this will not suit some people, but our hands are tied. If we don’t move the start time we would have to postpone the meeting Can we ask that you all share this info as far and wide as possible and hopefully those of you who were thinking of staying home to watch the GP…..can now join us In the afternoon and watch it live later on!! Thank you to everyone who has spent Friday morning changing plans - we won’t be beaten!!!!
  10. PROGRAMME SALES FOR NEXT SATURDAY So we have decided that for next Saturday we will just be producing a small 8 page insert for the meeting with the line-ups for the event. Over 2 previous runnings of the meeting, we have spent £2,000 on programmes and just felt the outlay is just too much this time around. On the day we will have 2 options £2 for the insert Or £5 which will be the insert, and a copy of each of the 2 programmes we have had produced before. They will be collectors items as the meeting didn’t take place! It’s a way of trying to claw back some of the original outlay too. We wanted to be up front with everyone and let you know the situation and the decision behind it. It is only right to do that. At this point too, we would like to thank a sponsor who has asked to remain unnamed, who has helped subsidise some of cost of the printing of the insert. We are very grateful to them for their kind donation If anyone would like to help with the rest of the printing outlay then please email robbosfarewell@hotmail.com and we will be happy to hear from you

  13. Redcar produced a superb team display as they defeated the much fancied Glasgow Tigers 53-37 in the first leg of the KO Cup quarter finals. It was a night of jaw dropping speedway and the perfect way for the “Agilia” Bears to bounce back after their BSN Series home defeat to Poole https://buff.ly/43twkzp
  14. We have worked fast to rearrange the KOC match against Berwick originally planned for tonight to now be in two days time Redcar vs Berwick Sunday 2nd of April, 5pm Ecco Arena, Middlesbrough Please share and make sure no one misses the
  15. ROBBO TAKE 5……… We can confirm that the date for Robbo Take 5 will be SUNDAY 4TH JUNE with the meeting again to be held at the Ecco Arena, home of the Redcar Bears with a 3pm start. Huge thanks to the BSPA for giving us another opportunity, and also to Jamie Swales for his support. Works starts again now to get the line-up together, and we appreciate that during the season this will mean there will be a fair few amendments to the line-up, but once again we will attempt to put together the best possible line-up as a send-off for Robbo. One big change will be that unfortunately due to the date change, this clashes with the a round of the Young Lions Speedway championship meaning we won’t be able to host any of their demonstration races this time around. I (Martin) will contact those sponsors who had kindly agreed to sponsor parts of the Young Lions part of the meeting and work out a plan. If there is any one out there who would be willing to contribute anything else to us as a form of sponsorship please drop us an email to robbosfarewel@hotmail.com we are trying to claw back some of the £4-5k that was spent on the last failed staging. Any support is gratefully received. We go again!!!!!
  16. BSPA APPROVAL GIVEN!! We received some great news late last night that due to the crazy that we have found ourselves in, the BSPA have given their approval to the Redcar promotion to run a 5th attempt during the season, rather than wait for the allocated October window. We are extremely grateful for this decision, and discussions are now taking place with Redcar to come up with an alternative date for ROBBO TAKE 5!!!! Once we have a confirmed date, we will of course communicate it out. We will do all we can to try and ensure the line-up is just as competitive as it was for the attempt last week but during the season rider availability will be a lot different copied from Stuart Robson Facebook
  17. LET’S TRY AGAIN!!!! We are delighted to be able to confirm the 4th attempt to run the Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting will take place at Redcar Speedway on SUNDAY 19TH MARCH with a 3PM start. Thanks to Jamie and Jade for their continued support in trying to get this meeting on again. The task of confirming the line-up will start again and we will confirm riders once we have agreed with them If everyone involved could do a “sun” “dry” “cold” dance between now and then it would be much appreciated……we just don’t want any of the wet stuff!! Emails will be sent to all of the sponsors already involved over the next week or so 4 could be the magic number! copied from Stuart Robsons Facebook
  18. lFollowing the Skippers heavy fall at Belle Vue last night he will now have to miss our Cup final second leg at Poole tomorrow, get well soon Charles. Kye Thomson will guest in his absence.
  19. It’s not being run this year, we end the season with the Silver Helmet on the 21st of October
  20. MEETING POSTPONED…..AGAIN It is with deep regret and sadness that we have had to take the decision tonight to postpone the Farewell meeting again. Over the last 48 hrs we have had 5 riders unfortunately pull out of the meeting due to new commitments abroad and also injury. Today the final hit was Glasgow running vs Poole on Saturday afternoon which cost us another 2 riders from the line-up. It’s a disappointing situation, but one that unfortunately we have no control over and obviously clubs have to get their fixtures sorted and finished. Discussions will take place with Jamie and Jade at Redcar again to get a new date fixed into the calendar for early 2023 and those details will be provided once it has been confirmed and ratified with those in charge. All of the people connected to Redcar have been an amazing support throughout the planning stages and we can’t thank them enough. To every sponsor that remained with us from 2020 through until now a massive thank you, but the same offer applies as last time. An email will come out to you soon, we would of course love you to remain with us, but if you would like a refund, please drop an email to robbosfarewell@hotmail.com and we will arrange that for you. Also for those of you who had purchased racejackets we will be in touch shortly. Deeply disappointed for Robbo but we look forward to the 4th attempt in early 2023 Martin and Robbo
