Grand Prix Ticket Sales
GregoryM replied to Beercellar1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
No problems today getting tickets for the Wroclaw GP. A friend of mine told me yesterday that he'd had quite a wait to enter the ticket site last year, but today I'd bought my tickets for this year's GP within 5 minutes of the General Sale opening at 11.00a.m. UK time. -
I see Wroclaw Main Stand seats for their GP on 30 August are 499 Zloty (around £110), but their back straight prices are considerably cheaper at around £30.

Grand Prix Ticket Sales

As happens at Wroclaw, I wonder if Belle Vue will be allowed to/want to offer their season ticket holders a propriety purchase window to buy tickets ahead of a general sale for the GPs? They weren't allowed to for the SoN last season, according to the email they sent out. 'As this is a FIM event we are unable to offer our season ticket holders a priority window to purchase tickets'. Maybe Polish clubs can demand/have more say in the administration of ticket sales? -

Or some serious outmuscling and clever lines around the first two corners. -
Busy few days in the air for Dan Bewley this week. A mate of mine flew out to Wroclaw yesterday for a few days break - he's going to the Wroclaw v Torun match on Friday night - and Dan was on the same flight. Dan told my mate that Wroclaw had called the team in for a practice session today, and so he (Dan) was then flying back to the UK afterwards for the Oxford v Aces match tomorrow night - and then back to Poland for the Wroclaw v Torun match on Friday.
-
Did that yesterday didn't he?

It's a good few years ago now, but I used to go quite often too (could be there in under a hour straight from work) when you could stand on the back straight. Saw some brilliant racing. And, when the Aces were visiting way way back when, Owlerton was never better than Wyer & Wilson v PC & Mort imho.

Fair comment, but we might then at least have teams with the same 7 riders week-in week-out. Yes, we'd still get injuries, of course.

Lemo doesn't tally up in most of what he says/does.

Wonder if Kurtz will have the cheek to turn up in the Sheffield pits?
-
British Speedway and its supporters being taken as mugs!! I was going to go to Sheffield tomorrow, but won't be doing now.
-
Well, let's say that if a rule existed that purposely weakened one of the teams in meeting I had planned to pay to attend (due to no fault whatsoever of the team concerned) then I would not be parting with my money and wouldn't attend. We may put up with a lot of weird rules, but a rule which intentionally 'robbed' me of seeing two full strength sides would be a rule too far for me to pay to attend such a meeting every single time.
-
But that would punish the team!!

Yes, parking is £3.00 per match for both Aces and Colts. There are also parking season tickets available. -

Dan Bewley said afterwards that the track was the best it had been all day at the time of the call off, and there was no way anyone would be going out that wide to where the piles were anyway.
-
Absolutely spot on. My friend and I were saying exactly the same to each other as we sat there contemplating who would be the tac sub instead of R/R in heat 10. Infact, I had to tell him to 'calm down' as my friend in a loud voice aggravated said 'NO, NO Lemon, it has to be a tac sub, cant you see the obvious?'
-
That's a fair comment Phil - but the day-to-day supporter will still be very disappointed and may well feel 'cheated' by his absence. The optics just don't look when he scored well, and qualified to the next stage of the World Championship, riding in an event between two Aces fixtures that he's missing through injury.

As I look out at the rain now (10 miles from the NSS) and playing Devil's Advocate, I'm thinking it might well be a case of:- "Get the big Bank Holiday crowd in, rush like mad through 10 heats and then call the rest of the meeting off" Not sure I'd be venturing over if I wasn't a season-ticket holder?
-
An absolute p*ss take of the Belle Vue supporters - and of British Speedway in general - if Kurtz doesn't ride after riding in the World Championship Qualifier.
-
It might just be that it's sold out. I bought South Stand parking for this match a few weeks ago.

Thank you Gambo and tellboy. Three of us were debating this last night once MPT's name wasn't announced for heat 15. Now we know for the future.
-
The riders taking the four Musielak rides actually scored 6 points - Rider Replacement 3 points and a Tac Sub 3 points. MPT taking two of those four rides : R/R in heat 11 and Tac Sub in heat 13. It might be well be argued, of course, that Musielak would have scored more than 6 from 4 rides and, if it had been him with NKI in heat 15, would they have got a 5-1? If Musielak had scored e.g. 9 from his 4 programmed rides, and then joined NKI for a 5-1 in heat 15, the Stars would have won 46-44.
-
Isn't it a maximum of 6 rides that a rider in the main body of the team can take? If so, MPT wasn't eligible to go out in heat 15 having taken his 6th ride in heat 14.

Speedway of Nations 2024
GregoryM replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
My brother is a Belle Vue Season Ticket Holder and has received an email from them saying they cannot offer their season ticket holders to book their own seats for the Speedway of Nations as it is a FIM event. Is this a new 'rule'? He told me he was able to buy his season-ticket seat for the 2021 Speedway of Nations at Belle Vue, and a friend of mine in Wroclaw has been able to buy his season-ticket seat there for the GPs before tickets went on general sale.
