  1. From watching it on TV, Bomber was certainly on a GTR for his last, and best, ride. I think he was on a GM for his others. Looks like he engine is quick as well as good from the gate, things are looking positive as competition for the GM's and Jawa's.
  2. I'm sure I heard in one of the interviews last night that Lewis was sick on the track following the crash, if so, he must have been in a lot of pain. you have to feel sorry for him as he was the innocent party, and only hit the fence trying (unsuccessfully) to avoid the fallen rider. Hopefully he will recover quickly, but it does leave us in a dilemma regarding the team. Do we carry on using whoever is available, considering the season is more or less gone for us to achieve anything, or sign a replacement up to our points limit considering the costs in doing that.
  3. No team is going to win with 10 last places at home, too many riders seem to either lack track craft or are just not quick enough. Garrity is exciting to watch, however, he seems out of control quite often and appears to be an accident waiting to happen, if it does, and I don't wish ill on anyone, I hope he doesn't take someone else with him.
  4. Thanks Philip, I was assuming they were planning on a launch in time for next season. Have they any plans to see how a 'lesser' rider copes with it, it's all very well getting the feedback from GP stars but if it's aimed at being more affordable to the mainstream rider, surely it would be advantageous to see how the average PL rider copes, possibly with a session where the uses 2 bikes with the 2 engines fitted and lap times are compared. I'm not negative regarding this development, I think it is vital for the future of speedway that costs are reduced.
  5. Philip, do the team at GTR have a timescale as to when the engine will be available on general sale?
  6. I assumed that the riders who are trialling the GRT (Harris, PK and Robert Lambert)are being paid a fee, and given free use of the engines to see how they perform at different tracks. This would not force them to use them all the time, however, as Bomber was seemingly much better out of the gate using it, I find it strange that he would be reluctant to use it at Cardiff. The 1 race that Robert appeared in showed the engine was at least as fast as the GM 'rocketships'.
  7. I don't know the facts regarding whether GP riders were offered financial incentives to encourage them to ride GTR's at Cardiff, however, Robert Lambert was riding one and he certainly looked to have enough pace in the engine, that is before his race came to a premature end.
  8. I applaud any new speedway stadium in this country, good luck to Belle Vue and I hope they have a successful and profitable tenure. I think it will be a great place to host SWC, Individual and team meetings, however, I believe the limited capacity may preclude it hosting a GP. There were over 40000 at Cardiff this year and I can't see Manchester being able to cope with anywhere near that number.
  9. I think many people go to Cardiff as a social event with the speedway the focal point Dan, I and my pals go down on the Friday morning from Newcastle and the festivities start as soon as we clear the Tyne Tunnel. A very enjoyable weekend and meeting up with people you only see infrequently, add to the whole experience.
  10. Whereas I'm not a stat. geek, it would be nice to know the heat times so they can be compared against the times in the GP. It would give a yardstick to see where the Brits. are in relation to the 'Big Boys'
  11. Totally agree, great gesture, as an ex serviceman I applaud anything like this.
  12. I think you find most of the freeloaders in the pits are either current or ex riders or friends or family of the team. I wouldn't be too difficult to identify these people, after all the general public shouldn't be there anyway and could be asked to leave.
  13. How about everyone who wants to be in the pits has to have a pass? Riders, 1 mechanic and anyone directly involved in the running of the meeting (medical personnel, track staff, machine examiners etc.) get in free, everyone else pays £100 for a season long pass? This will find out who really wants to be there, and if they don't come, no loss, they weren't paying anyway.
  14. PK rode a GTR last night, but was on a GM for his last ride.
  15. I think any opportunity given to young British riders to get together and practice on a GP track should be applauded. I also wonder if Tai's stance has had anything to do with it.
