  1. I think Tai is spot on with his assessment. You only have to look at Poland. Their world cup team is comprised of young riders and they've done brilliantly. Partly due to natural talent, but also because they're given more support to be able to end up where they are. I thought Lambert was great throughout the competition, but where are all the other young British riders?
  2. And what would you suggest as a solution? I'd genuinely like to know as the current system is far from ideal, but I can't see a solution that would help everyone. Lets put a pin in which teams were involved for a second. The facts were, over half the meeting had been completed before people stopped riding for safety reasons* and one team was beating the other on merit. We can now either A: call the meeting off, points stand. Winning team pick up the points, losing team feels shortchanged B: Re-run the meeting, thereby giving the losing team a free do-over, winning team feels shortchanged The only thing that would seem remotely fair IMO is to re-run the meeting, but give the previous losing team some kind of point deficit as a handicap.
  3. This made the Warsaw GP look competent by comparison. An innocent rider is out for the rest of the event (and quite probably others too) when there's a perfectly good reserve sat in the pits, the rider that caused the stoppage isn't even excluded from that race and the team that caused the stoppage is the ones that benefit the most from these stupid rules. Pretty sure anyone who was checking out the SWC for the first time won't bother again.
  4. Post might be invisible until after the 6PM cutoff, but just in case...
  5. Might not be a popular opinion amongst some of the die-hard Pirate fans, but I'd really prefer that Ford makes retaining Magic the highest priority for the club next year rather than getting Ward in at any cost. Last night only highlighted how great a rider he is. He's great for the team as well, they all seem to gel better with him in it. If he keeps riding at this quality, it's not a question of if he'll become a world champion, but when. Far too valuable an asset to give up to a rival club.
  6. And that will never work unless conditions get undeniably lethal. Otherwise, the winning team will always go out for the easy win. It was Poole this time, but any Bees fan that thinks if it were the other way round, Coventry wouldn't have gone for the easy points, you're deluding yourselves. There were two problems with this meeting and neither of them were Poole. They were gutless officials and piss-poor promotion. The Sky meeting at Poole is almost half the price, pretty sure you won't be able to count our crowd on your fingers.
  7. Wish I had the same confidence. I'd really like Magic to be there, but with all the talk of him being shunted aside to make room for Ward, I'm not sure I'd blame him for not being 100% committed.
