  1. He was me. All the accounts that disagree with Coventry are owned by Tommy Turner. I thought you had worked that out already. The paranoia in this place is ridiculous
  2. You all realise Dak is not Chris Holder right? Nor is he Emil or Tai. Everyone handles things differently. The reason Holder was held in such high regard for racing was in no small part because most of us were admitting we wouldn't have been able to summon up the courage and focus to compartmentalise in the same way Chris could. Not one of us (except the most determined idiot) would've had a bad word to say about Chris if he had decided not to ride, bit hypocritical if we don't apply the same consideration to Dak. Looking increasingly like the weather is going to make all this bickering academic anyway.
  3. My loyalty is to Poole only, but I enjoy watching racing a lot more when I'm rooting for someone so I'll usually pick someone, but I certainly wouldn't be able to pick for next season, as my choices will be largely based on the club's journey to the playoffs. For this year, if we don't make it, I'd like the winner to be Swindon. I know Darcy is a rider who's divided opinion. One person's lovable rogue is another person's selfish brat, but Swindon's fans put aside judgement and welcomed Darcy in and I know he enjoyed riding for them. I also think a big part of them getting to where they are is due to Darcy and his motivation, I'd like to see that carried all the way. If not Swindon, I'd go for Belle Vue over Coventry, but that's because as a Poole fan, I'd go for anyone over Coventry
  4. In the GP he started strong, but petered out at the end. He's inconsistent. Which I'm not going to bash him for (as I said before, he gets a free pass from me this season no matter what) I expect he'll do the business at Wimborne Rd, but he doesn't exactly have fond memories of Brandon at the best of times. Magic didn't exactly light up the scoreboards for WTS Sparta so his injury was definitely having some kind of effect. I fully expect he'll ride, but I have to admit I'm a little worried he won't be firing on all cylinders.
  5. Whatever the reason, it's a real shame. World speedway needs riders like him.
  6. Then we should be asking ourselves, where did it go wrong, and how do we bring the good times back? because we used to have all the top riders racing over here.
  7. I watched this with my old man who doesn't care at all about Speedway. Heat 14 even woke him up. Riders like Emil make speedway more exciting. I'm not sure if his health is still the reason he doesn't do GPs, but if tonight was him not at full fitness then... If it's a money issue, sponsors should be beating his door down. He could easily get more people watching speedway.
  8. Top riders don't want to come here because they're not paid enough. They're not paid enough because speedway is not popular enough in the UK. Speedway is not popular enough because big crowds don't go to meetings. Big crowds don't go to meetings because top riders don't come here.
  9. Really hope both Magic and Bomber are feeling a lot better on Friday. Both will likely ride regardless but both teams really need them at full strength. Don't know what the weather is doing in Coventry, but looking out my window in Bournemouth definitely seems the right call to postpone. Hope BV Swindon is still on so I have something to watch tonight though.
  10. Genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Kacper beat Andersen at Wimborne Rd, probably not at Brandon though. Dak really needs to have resolved his issues by Monday or he could literally cost us the playoffs. We need the Brandon leg to be close, the Bees are too good at our track to be able to to make up a large deficit.
  11. Personally I think Lindgren for Kylmakorpi is trading up.
  12. I would be disappointed if Newman didn't get a promotion into the 1-5 he's definitely earned it. The Bees would be crazy not to promote Garrity. Charles Wright should also get one IMO
  13. I ordered a T shirt 2 weeks ago. Money taken, no update on shipping, no shirt. Email ignored. Make of that what you will.
  14. He does it a lot for North at Poole too. One of the few riders to make a proper effort. Was really surprised by Bjerre until the middle of the meeting when I saw him back in his usual 'form' Was more impressed by Woffy finding racing lines on a track that initially only seemed to have one.
  15. Really can't decide on that one even putting aside club loyalty. I think he is a huge talent, I just wish he was a little more Greg Hancock and a little less Nicki Pedersen.
  16. I thought Tonio's loyalty to Poole pretty much went the way of his desire to ride in the UK. I'm not aware of any connection he has to Ford any more. As much as I'd love to see him back. Honestly I hope he's ok, mainly because I don't enjoy seeing riders hurt regardless of who they ride for, but also because I've seen him ride in pain. He'll do it because Havvy will ask him to and because he's dedicated but he'll probably be nowhere close to through the barrier. He looked to be in utter agony against Swindon. EDIT: Also am I missing something re: Coventry replacement? I've seen a Tweet from Havvy confirming it'll be a guest.
  17. Just rumours, but I thought Coventry had a really large average to play with?
  18. Well if the rumours I've heard are true (and likely most of them aren't) He's approached Woffy, Emil, Dudek, Lindback, Hancock among others, and they've all said no. No wonder he's feeling a little victimised right now.
  19. Is the rant listed in full? I just heard the 'arrogant' comment. In my opinion, he's arrogant for thinking BV or Swindon are easier opponents.
  20. This will be a lot closer than Coventry fans are saying it will. Unless North gets his bike sorted, he's going to be a serious issue both legs. I know averages give Garrity top reserve, I'd still back Newman to beat him more times than not if both are riding well, Starke is capable of beating Sarjeant on his night, but if off it, I'd expect Sarjeant to beat him, jumpstarts or no. Magic looked more comfortable this week, so hope he's over his injury as we'll really need him at Brandon. Holder and Watty should be superb on home leg, but could go either way away. It's been fun watching Gomolski get better and better as I watch him at Wimborne Rd, but I've not seen him put a bragworthy score yet away. I think he could yet be the pivotal rider for our playoff campaign. Will be very interesting to see who Coventry get in for Kylmakorpi. Bomber rides our circuit really well. In fact both teams ride each other's circuits pretty well. Although I'm well aware Coventry fans won't listen to me about this, and to be fair they don't have to, but Sarjeant has earned his reputation for jumpstarting. The one incident that had everyone up in arms was a legit quick start and the ref was wrong to call it, but I have seen Sarjeant jump with my own eyes in pretty much every meeting I've seen him in. I've also seen him get away with it. Once I see a rider make a habit of it, I start watching them more closely, the refs are human, it's not unreasonable of them to do the same.
  21. I'm sure if that were to happen, Coventry would beg for the meeting to be re-run in accordance with their strenuous arguments on the subject earlier this season. 😜
  22. I'm actually a little surprised we didn't want to go home first vs Cov. Maybe Ford and Middlo decided to get the hard bit done first to know how hard we're going to have to bring it at Wimborne Rd. Swindon will probably hammer BV, but seeing as Poole can't ride BV's track, Cov were the best choice.
  23. I'm a little surprised we picked this early. Sod's law now dictates Cov will somehow persuade someone like Sayfutdinov to replace Kylmakorpi.
  24. A big problem Dak has at the moment is that he has been let down by his servicing company and doesn't have his best bike so he was using a lot of second hand and borrowed stuff. Doesn't excuse everything but explains some of it. Just hope he gets it sorted very quickly. I really enjoyed the meeting last night. I know they're doing an official meeting for Darcy, but this one really felt like it was for him. Both his EL teams racing, his dad on centre green and lots of banners and support. As such, a draw felt like a good result.
  25. Some really good racing tonight. Scratching my head over Gomolski's red card to be honest. He was clearly at fault, but excluding him from the re-run would've been a fit punishment. Red cards should be for egregious moves that show no concern for the other riders. Kacper's reaction clearly showed otherwise. Aside from that, can't complain.
