You won't give up even when you know you are talking nonsense. Berge asked to leave, it doesn't matter why - some theories his flat was in the west end of Glasgow rather than morningside; the weather's nicer in Sheffield; I've lost my confidence; I need to reassess my career as I'm now rubbish at longtrack; my mum didn't like the way stuart Dixon talked about me on the tele; you are paying me in pounds and I wanted euros; david bellego told me the grass is greener down south; a cannae understand weegies - it doesn't matter. As soon as he decided he wanted to leave he was withholding his services and Glasgow are entitled to a facility. end of. -
Not to keen on twitter and facebook even took me a while to join this forum but have to say Glasgow's page is full of quizzes, info; team line ups - theirs a novel idea!!!!!!! See https://www.facebook.com/glasgowtigersspeedway has to be way forward and seems to be working with more youngsters attending every week!!

Glasgow V Berwick Sunday 19th

The new owners seem to want to put on apackage not just 15 heats. the two mascots routine worked really well yesterday and even some old cynics were smiling! And the kids races just shows a lot of youngsters are coming to Glasgow and long may it continue. Finally young Leon flint looked really good after the meeting, how old is he and has he 'signed' for someone? -
Others have commented on this but I'd ask Blackadder: Berge asked to leave the club, yes?; even you must agree that they are not going to sack a rider when there is no obvious replacement. So how about this as a theory, perhaps having asked to leave the club tried to persuade him to stay before reluctantly saying he could go. In these circumstances berge is presumably withholding his services and that means a ban from racing? maybe he thought he could just leave and join his mate and then got annoyed like most teenagers when they don't get their own way? Whatever theory is correct Glasgow own him and will get a loan fee or transfer fee or did his advisors not mention that either.

Weather forecast now dry for the rest of the day. Advise if you want seat in stand arrive early it fills up really quickly but then again viewing from back straight is brilliant and remember there is a tarmac walkway to the back straight behind red and white fence on first two bends. Believe gates open today at 12 noon with it being a Glasgow Holiday weekend. Logic suggests Tigers should win but Bandits ran us close last time and we are on the back of 3 meetings and lots of travelling so who knows -
Rye House V Glasgow 18/7/15

No doubt Rockets will win but I don't think that Glasgow are seriously weakened. Jack Holder will score as many as David Howe would have and if Adam Roynon does ride (I read he was ill last night) he will score more than Berge. The main problem is losing Nick Morris but r/r may do ok. So not really weakened, even a full Glasgow 1-7 would have struggled - we're not used to sun and dust -
Somerset Vs Glasgow 17/07/15 Premier League

As MD says Nick wold have scored more than r/r. Also didn't help that our guest Thomas jorgensen - thanks for taking the booking - managed to fall foul of the obsession that refs have of trying to catch riders out at the tapes. Funnily enough his score last night for Sheffield helped us more than his score tonight -

Well Ok I was totally wrong - on paper comets should have won but we don't race on paper. Really enjoyed it today suppose with speedway its not just the actual racing its the unexpected, the surprise at winning thought the crowd looked quite big again with a good atmosphere and everyone up for it -even enjoyed the kids race where did they all come from? Sorry for a few fans that came in late as we started bang on 3pm once again. Anyway a pint always slips down better when you least expect it -

I presume you are joking. Young Bjerre, Roynon and Lunna will all struggle on a 'doctored' track i.e. one with grip plus Rusty loves dirt. The trouble is Bach, Wells and Wethers will revel in a gate and go track; can't see how we can win this -

With the overall team average being over 46 we have no real flexibility we have to replace like with like or the team reverts to a 42.50 max. That means up to 7.33 for Howe if he doesn't come back and up to 4.81 for berge. So, we can't add the 2 averages and use say a 3pt man and a 9.14 pt man -

Can understand reason for double-up/down - riders need to earn more money as not enough fixtures in EL for those that don't ride abroad. So limit double up/down to those that only ride in UK. Also if you double up/down you're then not eligible for guest bookings. probably lots of loopholes but something needs to be done. -

It gets worse . Dimitri has quit. Appears we can use guest for now - Adam Roynon guests - so its a Tigers/bears select against the Comets -

Hopefully you will be pleased that Nick scored points for you. Glasgow fans are really pleased since he'll now miss some crucial fixtures with an arm injury sustained whilst doing his best for you -

oh dear, Nick Morris out for a few weeks with arm injury guesting for Somerset . It's bad enough when your riders get injured riding for their country, U21 and EL teams but when its guesting it seems even worse!!! Can see Tigers losing this with Bjerre as a guest. Should be glad that Lawson Sergeant and Summers who all rode last night didn't get injured as well. No chance beating Sheffield on aggregate on Thursday either -
Future Of Scunthorpe Scorpions

As everyone has said the racing at Scunthorpe can be terrific. The best Sky match ever, from a neutral point of view was filmed at Scunthorpe - just watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHgN6sTKrqY&feature=related -

Although not a solution, with the new averages everyone bar Nick Morris can get a ride so could score as many as Howe would have done, if fit, at least at home. certainly can't afford any engine problems - remember what happened when Summers borrowed an engine from Alex Edberg!!!! -
Well it seems like ages since the last home meeting and back to Sunday afternoons - prefer evenings myself. For Tigers David Howe is still out and with Viktor Palovaara on World U21 duty we've got a guest and thanks to the new averages we can get Nike Lunna who impressed when up with Scunthorpe. Workington are along the usual lines though they've replaced Nicki Barret who nearly always does well at Ashfield with Matt Williamson. Matty Wethers is a potential problem as when he gates at Ashfield he's good at holding riders back. Anyway a home win by around 6 points.

Peterborough Panthers 2015
SharpenRake replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't want to seem pedantic but the BSPA stands for British Speedway Promoters Association - don't think you could exclude certain promoters just because they are cleverer than others. Agree ideally there would be an independent body but it wouldn't be called the BSPA, maybe call it something like Speedway Control Board Also sadly everyone on here when they disagreed with their decision would accuse someone of bribing someone else - hey ho -
Peterborough Panthers 2015

Don't like riders doubling up/down BUT it's a lot better than teams using guests and r/r all season. Have to feel for Panthers promoter and the fans. -
My take on things as something who was there. The Sheffield team were really up for it resulting in over riding from some. Bates bike must have a homing device as it clearly takes him round the track rather than him being in control. Berge was blocked/took avoiding action at least 3 times last night otherwise there could have been more accidents, he waved to the ref but the race continued every time. wonder what ref would have done if Berge had slid off? Hope they try more evening meetings, tonight we had new track record, lots of incidents/controversy, totally unpredictable results, beautiful weather, good crowd, brilliant burger and chips and a tie nicely balanced for the second leg -worth £15 of anybodys money. Hope Nick, Ashley, David are OK - didn't hear anything other than they were withdrawn.
