Sorry this thread has somehow deteriorated into a slagging/defending Edinburgh thread. the bottom line is on the day Glasgow were good Edinburgh weren't. Edinburgh say they have got more to come, well I think so have Glasgow. But it wasn't just winning that made it a good day. a big enthusiastic crowd, air horns, flags, fans dressed in team colours, loads of kids enjoying themselves, the comfy seats in the stand, a beer afterwards, riders comin into the den and talking to the fans - think Richard was maybe a bit embarrassed by it all. quite simply I was entertained and if only more promoters and riders realised the importance of entertaining we might be better of. -

Thanks for taking the time to do this, excellent research and emphasises what a shame that Friday was rained off . one wee point and I hope you don't think i'm nit picking but since you've gone to so much trouble Danny Ayres hasn't ridden and doesn't ride for eastbourne -

Sorry gaz but the weather in paisley has got nothing to do with it.where I live it was dry yesterday till about 7pm. It stopped overnight and started again about 8. What's it like at Ashfield don't know but who would have thought last week would have been on. Still over 3hours to go and I'm sure Edinburgh would want to help get the meeting on⛅ -
Cyclones jealousy shines through once again. A good bit in the herald, excellent positive publicity by the way, seems to explain why the other dirctors are no longer directors although still fans and helping out See http://m.heraldscotland.com/sport/14390518.The_Facenna_story__from_wall_of_death_to_the_joy_of_a_new_life/?ref=twtrec if you are to lazy to read it GF is quoted as saying “It was worrying. Their passion for the sport was wonderful but there were debts for which they were personally responsible and I do not think some of them appreciated that.”

Well lets look on the bright side. when the meeting gets rerun perhaps a date that suits zagar can be found? it would be a pity for the fans to miss out on seeing GP rider. -

A pity Zagar isn't riding. I get annoyed when EL teams race challenges but don't bring there top riders. Thought it was moved from a Saturday to Friday to help Aces bring there best riders. Now no Zagar and 2 missing from Edinburgh - shame. -

Agree Falcon Hammer - last year spend £15 for entry, £2.50 on proggie; £2 on raffle tickets total £19.50. This year £17.50 + 2.50, nothing on raffle - sorted. -
Good to see BBC Scotland at ashfield today for the press and practice and a nice spot on the evening news programme - some good publicity for speedway in a week when the news has not been so good.

Good to see an agreed date for the semi. Good to hear that Scunthorpe and Redcar both helped out in order to make it happen - cooperation at last!
-
Take it your taken your lap top, with lots of speedway DVDs, with you? your joking. I was looking forward to a Saturday meeting at armadale, Fridays are too far to travel after work

You sound like a 'sensible' person so as the BSPA allocated the fixture to Glasgow surely it was extremely sensible of them to ask the BSPA when they could run it, after all the BSPA are in charge of the fixtures for all teams so would have the best idea when most riders would be available. Get the date in the fixture list and then teams can decide whetehr to use their 'reserved' date and go with a guest or not. Picking a day when there are actual fixtures programmed will cause more problems and would ahve fans up in arms! When would you run it? On a Sunday when Woffinden, Harris, Nicholls etc aren't available cos they are in Poland - that would make for 2 fair semis, one with all the stars in it and the other at Glasgow. Perhaps Thursday when there are guaranteed fixtures in the UK not TBC fixtures. Perhaps Tuesday Sweden. You see what I am saying???

There not clever remarks. Anyone with a bit of sense would look up the web to find out before posting. and yes you are mistaken there's no 'if' about it.
-
lets not bother about the facts, just post a throw away comment, spread doubt. Some people come on here and have the nerve to say promoters havnae got a clue yet they post this nonsense. Fact - Woffinden, Harris, Nichols all rode in the semi last year.
-
Are you suggesting that padded seats have been put in because no one has paid £1 for sitting in the stand?????????????????????????? Eh, the season doesnae start till March 27th maybe they should put in a padded cell for the odd moanarch
