Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23
SharpenRake replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
See last post on previous page for link to photos/videos. I wish we hadn't cancelled it so we could have watched Nichols being interviewed by BSN standing in the rain as his designer shirt shrinks around him. I wonder if he would then be annoyed it hadn't been cancelled. -

Glasgow Tigers Speedway Discussion Group | Facebook I've just sat and read this thread. When will people realise it doesn't matter what the weather is/was like in Cumbernauld, Glasgow City Centre, Manchester, Poole, south side of Glasgow; the meeting was to be raced at Ashfield. The link should show videos/photo of rain at Ashfield posted from the track. See first post and then scroll down for videos. -
Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23

The simplest thing to do is for Glasgow to go to Redcar and lose. That way everyone will be happy. The season fizzles out and clubs and riders lose out financially. But maybe, just maybe this will be the catalyst to do away with play offs. -
Glasgow Vs Redcar, play offs 230923

Surely they are 'protected' in that they have priority over other leagues. So Edwards would have to ride for Sheffield and Redcar would be allowed a guest. -

Well done to the Tigers for finishing with an away win. With 2 ex tigers in the team it was never in doubt - once a tiger always a tiger! Also best wishes to Charles Wright. -
Redcar v Glasgow 10th September

Both teams missing riders and for very good reasons, as has been explained patiently by many folk earlier. From a Glasgow point of view it provides an opportunity for some of our team to get vital laps around the excellent Redcar track prior to the play-offs. Can't wait! -

Who 'wrote' the rules? Oxford didn't meet Redcar so let's use a different rule from the one used to determine the other semi. -

So he'll be missing a few meetings then. Or will he make a remarkable recovery. -

Both Edinburgh and Plymouth should be fined for putting out weak pairs. Worrall should be banned from riding as a guest for teams in the play-offs e.g. Edinburgh. -
Just a thought, are you davie's twin?

25.08.2023 Scunny v Glasgow League
SharpenRake replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not sure how, when you seemed to realise that we would be struggling, that you then deem it an awful performance. We all knew that r/r wouldn't work and that Jamie Halder, thank you for taking the booking, wouldn't compensate for Ace. We also knew that we would be struggling for the bonus point particularly as the home leg was abandoned after Heat 11. Claus tried his guts out and deserved more points for his efforts and yet your comments suggest he didn't turn up! -

Don't think you can fault Claus's efforts. -
Just bringing this back to a Glasgow thread and something even funnier than all the posts above! The Scunthorpe v Tigers updates page has a post from a brand new 'member' called 'tiggers77' who posted "Tigers shocking away from home again. Excuses will come about R/R and (G) tonight but that only papers over the cracks, not been good enough away from home all season. We’ll never win anything unless some big changes are made." Thought it was worth sharing just to reassure decent Poole fans that they are not the only team who have fans that 'are not the full shilling'.

When you read the full article it does say it's hoped he will be able to ride for the Tigers and possibly from this Friday at Scunthorpe. -

Perhaps TigersPlus could start a GoFundMe fund raiser for Lee.
