  1. Just had a thought. if the 1100 that paid last week and 840 newbies all come again this week and pay plus more newbies it is going to be really packed. so can see people needing to arrive early to get there seat in the stand and best positions on the terracing
  2. Taken from Tigers official facebook site TEAM NEWS: This Saturday night a very strong Sheffield team visit the Den in search of SGB Championship points. Gates Open 5.30pm Tapes Up 7pm Reminder - New Supporter vouchers are valid for this and every meeting in the 2017 season. GLASGOW 'Allied Vehicles' TIGERS... 1 Richard Lawson 9.19 2 Nike Lunna 5.83 3 Aaron Summers © 8.98 4 Dan Bewley 5.64 5 Richie Worrall 8.95 6 Tom Perry 3.71 7 Jack Smith 2.00 TM - Stewart Dickson. SHEFFIELD 'Window Centre' TIGERS 1 Josh Grajczonek 9.46 2 Todd Kurtz 5.02 3 Lasse Bjerre 7.38 4 Josh Bates 6.33 5 Kyle Howarth © 8.19 6 Robert Branford 4.30 7 Nathan Stoneman 2.00 TM - Simon Stead. I'm worried about this one. Sheffield on paper look stronger than both Workington and Ipswich and they ran us close. Josh G could go through the card and Kyle Howarth rode well last year at Ashfield. Mr Bates has had a few shockers but he did have one amazing meeting where he punched well above his weight. So it could come down to which version turns up and pressure again on our 2 reserves. Glasgow to win with Sheffield just missing out on a bonus.
  3. Good to see this, the more publicity the better. But it did say on the official facebook page 1110 regulars and 840 newbies. What sounds better 750+ or 840? Bound to be a PR thing
  4. Interesting assessment. I actually enjoyed the match up to heat 10 and even the kids race. But the atmosphere changed, the crowd were getting bored and you got the feeling the Tigers are going to blow it. I also don't think you can just assume that the grading was responsible for what you think was better racing. The way the heats work out you have riders of similar abilities in the last few heats which can result in closer racing. Also Ipswich had more time to adjust setup.
  5. to be fair I had no problem with your post in isolation but when northyorksbear commented felt I had to point out that wasn't happening, wouldn't want anyone getting the wrong idea due to someone misinterpreting your perfectly reasonable post .
  6. This comment would only apply if the Scotsman was right and once again he's wrong
  7. Well got an answer on official web site 1100 paid and 840 newbies got in for nothing. After heat 10 is the interval. if the weather allows they have a kids race, there were 100s on Saturday taking part and then NORMALLY a few laps of grading. Every now and again they just seem to get a bit carried away.
  8. I assume George is correct but as Manse says we had won every heat, it was 10 out of 10 manse. So yes no problem with some grading but this was lap after lap and half the time the wheel and the grader wasn't being used. the long delay gave Ipswich guys time to adjust there set-ups and more importantly cheesed of a large part of a large crowd. There were lots of newbies on Saturday and they must have wonderd whats going on. Riders have to remember they are there to entertain and if there is no crowd there is no money and no job
  9. Good to see ulrich doing so well after all the stick he's taken. Also still finding it amazing that Harris was able to fit into the team when at the start of the season he couldn't. Hope we didn't hinder your plans for another change 😯
  10. Would love to know how many people were in last night and what the official capacity is. I know this is a mad thing to say but I don't think I'd feel comfortable in a stadium so full every week. As paulco says it was full to the brim and I don't see how they could get anymore in unless they stood behind the fence on the bends where they wouldn't be able to see much. Thank goodness they put in new terracing on the 4th bend and back straight!
  11. Well got it right for once. Also agree with the comments about the grading after heat 10. Don't mind the kids race probably more here than the rest of British speedway but lap after lap of grading doesn't help anyone apart from the opposition
  12. From tigers official facebook Dan Bewley has been called up to represent Team GB in the European Under 21 Championship. Well that's us doomed
  13. Well a home match at last and a potential banana skin. We haven't ridden at home for weeks so will bound to be a bit rusty. And we are without young Dan on U-21 duty, the trouble with signing brilliant young riders So we have Ryan Douglas as a guest, good luck Ryan. Otherwise our team is as normal. The witches line up as follows (from official facebook page) 1 Danny King © 8.88 2 Kyle Newman 6.31 3 Cameron Heeps 6.64 4 Justin Sedgmen 7.60 5 Rory Schlein 8.06 6 Connor Mountain 2.67 7 Nathan Greaves 2.26 TM - Ritchie Hawkins. the witches have a strong 1-5, a bit like us so it could come down to the reserves. Think Tigers will get a win but the witches will get a point
  14. Should you not be changing your bsf name to Teresa May fan.
  15. Mitchell will be the key, paid 4 or more from his 3 rides, monarchs tend to only give him 3, and monarch win
  16. Looks as if I'm not going to get one. maybe there away trying to patent the idea
  17. That's why I wondered whether covers attached to the back of the fence and pulled like rollers over the fence to the edge might work - see post 29 below
  18. Something needs to be done. that's Glasgow off again and with blank dates were gonna only have 3 home meetings from May to June, normally the best months for weather in Scotland! This is probably mental and wouldn't work for every track but could a system be developed for the bends that is similar to roller blinds that shops use to protect shoppers? Once the fixings are installed behind the air fence's support fence the covers are pulled over the fence down to the edge of the track, rain runs off and the track also doesn't sweat as air gets in. Maybe wouldn't need so many helpers and would be quicker? The starting gate could have a cover like those used to protect cricket pitch.
  19. No it doesn't It sets a precedent that will prevent teams trying to manipulate situations to stop heat 10 being completed before a curfew. if the referee had awarded the race 5-0 to Glasgow or if Glasgow had agreed to send out both riders and that they both would have an engine failure as the tapes went up he would have declared the heat null and void so a 0-0. The curfew would the have come into play with the same result as actually occurred.
  20. Just hope that having done what was asked of him he doesn't get dumped on
  21. To be fair your being a bit unkind to clowns. For a start clowns can be funny Yes I'm sure Ms Morgan and Mr English would listen to jenga - the voice of raisin
  22. Spot on. I tired to say something similar in an earlier post but this makes it a lot clearer. thanks
  23. Have to agree with you there was nothing funny about what happened on Thursday night. Just for clarification cos you seem to know what happened on Thursday having posted an excellent post earlier in the thread. what was the para medic's initial assessment of coty's injuries? was a second ambulance called because of his injuries? was he taken to the hospital before the curfew time of 10pm? was he taken to hospital after 10pm and if so was he accompanied by the para medic? did he have to stay in hospital overnight? will he be riding for Redcar this week? will he be riding for you for the rest of the season?
  24. Never heard that quote before but certainly we try to be fair and will help other fans and promotions in trying to keep the sport alive. But when we get lied to, conned or sh_t on we treat these people with the contempt they deserve Read the whole thread. The meeting was 'delayed' cos Coty was being seen to by the para medic for over 40 minutes. The other ambulance first aid staff (they do a great job everywhere) weren't deemed able to watch over Coty whilst the medic went back to the centre green. So to prevent this happening you would need 2 medics. So I was just suggesting they get 7 so that they complete the rerun even if tigers riders suddenly suffer from mysterious ailments perhaps after eating dodgy burgers
