Championship Rider Final 24/09
SharpenRake replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
One thing the facennas have done is ensure meetings start at the advertised time. They are likely to have the gates open 2 hours before the start. For tigers league meetings they bring on the opposition team one rider at a time c10 mins before the scheduled start and then the tigers individually then the whole team does a lap together. They manage to do this every week with meetings starting either bang on time or no more than a minute or two after. For at least one meeting we just had the tigers riders parade presumably cos the opposition weren't ready! Hopefully the Facennas and their staff will be in charge of proceedings and we don't get BSPA people interfering and deciding what will happen -
I believe there is a 2nd installment in tomorrow's speedway star. The mind boggles. Maybe Neil macfarlane will be interviewed

Jack Holder And The (lack Of A) 9 Month Ban
SharpenRake replied to SCB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A sensible post plus as others have said it's a development league. Would those complaining prefer the 2 lads collapsed due to exhaustion. And since this is a jack holder thread to use Peterborough fans excuses they weren't missed from a result point of view -
I think relegation play off is meant to be on the tele looking forward to Nigel and kelvin's explanation of who is riding for who and why

I hope all the youngsters do well enough to make a career out of speedway. But would be more than happy if they didn't become world class and so stayed racing in the UK. Can't understand some fans obsession with riders having to ride in Poland to become better and then complaining about missing riders and guests

Newcastle Vs Glasgow (sgbc) 20/08/2017
SharpenRake replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Easy for the diamonds. Lawson knackered through to many meetings , summers lacking match fitness to few meetings, Worrall carrying an injury from Poland, lunna crashed out and Redcar and even if fit his bike might not be, Bewley seems to be riding as much as Lawson so would imagine his equipment is taking a bashing, perry riding for 2 teams and holding down a full time job explains his engine problems and lack of form and Smith crashed last Sunday and failed to score Thursday. So if travelling down enjoy the day but don't come on here and say it was a disgrace when they lose 😿 -

Yep he's had an absolute shocker of a season BSPA have actually done something useful. heres a link to official averages; just shows how badly the team and in particular the heat leaders have done this year http://www.speedwaygb.co/glasgow17 -
Sheffield Tigers V Edinburgh Monarchs.
SharpenRake replied to graz gp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Assume the monarchs don't want to get into the play-offs for some reason -
The speedway star article which is brilliant by the way explodes that myth

[quote name="MD" post="3014864" timestamp="1503076832 A bigger issue will be when all the play offs come at the same time with Bewley and Smith involved in three leagues and Lawson possibly as well with Somerset. Thankfully after last night's result don't think Somerset will be in the play offs -

I can't work out how to multi quote but to sum up the last few posts Lawson and summers are unpredictable away from home probably due to doubling up and another poster agrees. Summers does not double up! Now feel free to have a go but base it on facts. Can't believe I am the only one that is questioning Stuarts tactics last night it's not as if it's the first time. Also when we lose he's always quick to put pressure on and blame the riders on the clubs website. Not sure if that is the best tactic especially when the team is actually doing better than most people at the start of the season thought. But it is frustrating that they seem to have hit some sort of barrier when earlier they were all nice and relaxed and scoring freely, apart from Jack who ironically is a bit better when everyone else is of the boil. -

Unbelievable well thought out albeit inaccurate post. Particularly like the bit where you say you are sleeping well tonight posted at 5.10am 😴😵 -
Redcar V Glasgow Thursday
SharpenRake replied to RedcarB123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Still can't believe Stuart gave Jack our weakest reserve 3 rides against Mitchel Davey (no offence Mitch) and Tom had only one. When your reserves are 'off-form' give the best of the 2 the easiest rides at least away from home. Not saying Tom would have definitely beaten Mitch but he did do so in the one race they met lets look on the bright side there won't be a problem sorting out the play-off semis. for a while it looked like Sheffield and Ipswich would have to play each other. no danger of that now. Sheffield v Monarchs and Ipswich v Glasgow with Sheffield Ipswich final. can we play Edinburgh for third place -
Redcar V Glasgow Thursday
SharpenRake replied to RedcarB123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Crash for Lunna whilst out in front 3-3 becomes 5-0 for the bears. Lunna withdrawn from his last race hope he's ok. Stuart brings in Perry for Lunna up against Busch and Garrity when smith was the obvious rider to give him his 3 rides. Perry not surprisingly last then in next race takes out Perry when hes against Davey and brings in Smith. Davey has beaten smith twice before and now for a 3rd time! When we hear stuart talk about the riders needing to take a look at themselves maybe he should have wee look in the mirror. Beelin -
The thread on Neil Macfarlane Facebook page suggested October with first meeting in April 2018.

Not sure about this one. If the Tigers were all fully fit I reckon we could win. Just hope for an incident free meeting the last thing we need is a clash and a rider getting hurt or aggravating an injury -
Lawson had 5 meetings in 6 days. Not surprising if he was down on power
