  1. Whilst the current forecast is for light rain I'd not be too worried. The track can take a lot of rain providing it's not been soaked daily beforehand. The forecast for today is mainly sunshine with max temperatures of 16C so the base should be OK even if the forecast for Sunday is accurate
  2. Don't want to use up bandwidth by repeating your 'away from home' careful analysis but in case its evaded you Richard Lawson 11 at Sheffield, Richie Worrall 4, just saying
  3. Just wonder why his relationship has been on a knife edge for a while now? Any way not bad scoring tonight 14 from 5 and helps knock Swindon out of the Cup. Now if he does that on Tuesday ................
  4. Indeed, you do wonder. Some fans keep mentioning something that happened at Berwick as being the time things started to go pear shaped. If so what did the management and riders do to sort it out. The facennas seem to be decent people but if we don't win the cup and I can't see how we will, there could be a big clear out and I don't just mean riders
  5. Feel for the owners. Racing the second leg on a Tuesday night was never going to be a money spinner as I said in a earlier post. After this result I worry about the likely crowd. Can save there money for the KO cup 🤕🤒
  6. Richard 11 v Josh 11 James 10 v Jan 11 So only two Glasgow riders managed to match there opposite numbers and one was a guest! Thanks James Also it was always going to be difficult for Alfie so thanks for accepting the booking
  7. Someone tell the Glasgow heatleaders the play offs don't count for next years average
  8. Sadly can't see any Glasgow fan attending. What with the 3 recent matches, the riders championship on Sunday and play off second leg money will be tight. Throw in the dodgy weather.... Edit to be fair the weather forecast doesn't look too bad
  9. You have to hope that Richard and Aaron score what they did in the meeting in May 2017 otherwise it won't matter where they put r/r. Richie is the potential problem, scoring wise, at Sheffield. So I would have Richard, r/r, Dan, Richie, Aaron, James and Alfie. My point about r/r at 2 was that Dan could potentially maximise his r/r ride by getting it in heat 8. With r/r at 5 , Dan won't get an 'easy' r/r ride being out against at least one heat leader in every potential race (heats 4, 6, 9, and 13) and as I've said before our reserves will be riding together in at least 3 heats, two of which will be against heat leaders. Just think the way were lined up puts tremendous pressure on Dan, who is still young and inexperienced as well as coming back from injury, and James who has had probably only one good meeting this year. Anyway hopefully I'm wrong and Stuart is right
  10. For this match I'd put r/r at 2. Would give Dan a chance in heat 8 being up against Sheffields no. 2 and 2 reserves. Also means one of our reserves, the only other option for r/r, would be against a Sheffield reserve in heat 11. Also means a reserve out in heat 1 can get a feel for the track prior to heat 2
  11. To add to my original post r/r can be taken by dan Bewley who is coming back from injury and the 2 reserves. Remember the no. 5 races with the no. 6 twice and the no. 7 once. So in at least 3 races we will be represented by the 2 reserves. Get in there James and Alfie 🙊🙄
  12. Glasgow Team 1. Richard L 2. Dan Bewley 3. Aaron 4. Richie W 5. R/R 6. James Sarjeant (guest) 7. Alfie Bowtell (guest) R/R at number 5 ?????????!!!!!!!! Discuss
  13. Sorry pal my comments badly worded. Was trying to say firstly we get people on here suggesting James is deliberately dropping his average and my response being why would he deliberately lose money AND then I thought you were suggesting he was deliberately getting fined, so again why would he do that. It was my way of saying no one would deliberately go out and lose money so there has to be some other issues and I think he has tried to put his point of view in his statement
  14. I thought I read that we tried Workington but they wouldn't come cos Cook wouldn't be available. A bit ironic as he's missed quite a few meetings since the World Cup for various reasons some of which remain a mystery to me. Perhaps he'll pass Josh on his way north
  15. So James sarjeant is not only dropping his average deliberately allegedly but now deliberately getting fined. He presumably can't be earning anything or covering his costs so why. Has he won the lottery or something. Can't help thinking that reports of him saying he's deliberately dropping his average was done as a joke due to him being p....ed off and it's come back to bite him
  16. Excellent post the only minor criticism is that your giving some credence to what kermy says by responding 😯
  17. Scrub most of the above. The Tuesday gives more time for our injured riders to recover and should be easier to get guests as no other matches that evening. Still a shame that the kids won't see us in the play offs
  18. And why are Glasgow racing on a Tuesday night!!!!!! Bound to be a huge money spinner - the kids that have watched us all year and no doubt there parents will now miss out. OK I don't expect us to win on the night or qualify for the final but it would have ben nice to race in front of bumper crowd! Just cos we own our stadium we get treated like mugs. Saturday would have been the obvious date but seems we are committed to a thrilling match at Workington which if you look at the Workington threads there is likely to be no one there. Glasgow fans wont be travelling having forked out for 3 matches in less than a week and with the riders championship and the play-offs still to pay for. We've been shafted in the ko cup with blank dates waiting months to see who our opponents will be and we still don't have any fixed dates. We'll now lose to Newcastle whereas earlier in the season when at full strength we should have won. Its just a total bells up
  19. Can I ask if James is deliberately not scoring so he can reduce his average how is he managing to live. Is he on £200 a point or a fixed wage or something else. Have to say I felt sorry for him when I saw him on TV riding for Coventry and he kept getting pulled back for good starts. It's probably the only time I agreed with Havvy. Obviously can't comment on whats happened at Workington. I assume fans agree with the refs decisions and he is now blatantly jumping or is it a case of refs delaying the tapes so they catch him or he makes good starts that get called back
  20. Presumably after Glasgow gets knocked out of the play offs
  21. By the time the KO Cup is run Bewley Smith and probably lunna will be back which could make things a bit more interesting
  22. All today proves is that you were able to beat a patched up team.
