  1. ok, but he did become world u-21 champion in 1993 and appeared in the Grand Prix from 1996-2001 finishing 6th in 1999. Not many Englishmen have achieve that, particularly in recent years.
  2. Tell who to go and multiply. Bspa or Glasgow Lots of posters suggest that the lack of fixtures is a joke, no one wants to come and race Workington, and we'll never get the shield finished. Glasgow seems to have agreed to come so why not run a match. I'm sure a guest would be allowed for any rider if they are racing in Poland or official fixture
  3. What ultimately happened to Joe Screen - he retired after an excellent career where he entertained 1000s of people here and abroad.
  4. Well Jose has done it on a good few occasions, it's called class
  5. Potential answers - Lots of riders buy new equipment each year, can result in problems; not able to test due to all tracks being 5 feet under water; tuners inundated by riders not happy with their engine. As Bagpuss says happens every year. From a Glasgow point of view our two best riders not scoring to their full potential and we are doing ok Could be scary for some poor team when they all fire on the same day!
  6. Think a few people might have decided not to attend because of the rain in the Glasgow area. They missed a good meeting, as others have said and the track staff actually had to water the track. Also well done to them they had obviuously prepared the track for the forecast rain and there approach worked a treat. Pity we don't have a meeting next weekend but already looking forward to the visit of Sheffield.
  7. Hope the track staff have kept an eye on the weather forecast as it keeps changing. with the warm sunny weather yesterday the track will need watering and with a heavy shower forecast c lunchtime that should do the trick. met office saying it should be dry from 2-c5pm . So hopefully we'll be treated to a good aftenoons racing
  8. I'm glad the track is always well prepared at Armadale otherwise goodness knows what might have happened
  9. Have to agree, looks as if promoters aren't taking this competition seriously otherwise we'd have dates for the Worky rain-offs. Whats the point in having spare dates in the fixture list if they are not used. can see the final being run in October!
  10. An easy win for the Monarchs. Glasgow have suffered lots of engine problems and aren't clicking as a unit. And surely a bit of poetic licence when you say riders 'like' the place. I honestly don't know anyone that likes it Monarchs by 10.
  11. There's been lots and lots of rain offs in the UK and now it's to hot - love it
  12. Paul accepting a one off booking as a guest has got nothing to do with whether he is getting more money at Glasgow. Its the start of the season if you can't pay your guests after the meeting you are in deep doodoo so why not add to his income. Chris Harris expressing disappointment that Edinburgh speedway postponed a meeting at the last minute is a lot different from what you said. There is enough misinformation going around without you adding to it
  13. Are you sure it was more wonga or was it the knowledge they would get paid what they were due and on time. And pray explain what Chris has been saying about the long drive
  14. They've posted photos on official Facebook page. Track looks OK and no more rain forecast so they seem confident it will be on
  15. I'm surprised promoters don't ask for fans addresses then they could go round personally and tell them both teams and whether the match is on or not
  16. You won't believe this but actually agree with you in part. Looks a if someone new is doing it think it was written by an ice hockey fan rather than the usual people, it also mentions 'face-off' and they prefixed tonights meeting as Speedway Race: Glasgow v Workington.
  17. Hope everything turns out well. With Steve Lawson there every week and doing the track young Mr Bewley will be nigh unbeatable around worky.
  18. The reason you fail to see what he is 'whinging' about is because he isn't whinging. Feel free to look up the definition. He expressed his frustration and disappointment and with his circumstances - wife just had a baby etc etc, most sensible people would have no problem with him doing that. Its not as if he phoned up and say he was unwell; he didn't throw his dummy out of the pram; he didn't say that the Edinburgh promotion are an embarrassment and should be banned from promoting; he didn't say Nicki Pedersen knocked me off and its not fair. Ironically the only people whinging are those having a go at Harris
  19. Jeez he didn't whine. He said he was disappointed and frustrated just like every Glasgow fan that travelled through. Like the fans that phoned the track and no one answered, like the fans that looked at Facebook and saw a post urging them to turn up, despite it apparently been raining for some time and the fans that turned up when it wasn't raining to be told it was of. So stop trying to divert attention away from the real issue here which is the shocking way the Edinburgh promotion treat fans
  20. The forecast doesn't look too bad nothing wrong with some natural watering and with the excellent track staff everything should be fine
  21. Because of what you say and by listening again to Cami on the Sunday radio show and re reading the quotes from Glasgow and Stewart, I think it looks as if Stewart chucked it for some reason rather than being sacked. Know that Michael Max knows the ruls and is well known to most riders so assume that why hes been brought into a more prominent role. As I said before think the biggest loss will be not having someone on the BSPA management Committee.
