  1. Surprised that no ones started a thread with the match finely balance at 50-40 to Glasgow. Edinburgh seem confident and even Phil Lanning suggests Glasgow were flattered by the score - see interview with Matt Williamson posted here on 24 March here https://twitter.com/SpeedwayGB and I thought Phil got paid by Glasgow
  2. Not just the timing terrible. I thought he was maybe standing down to concentrate on being a promoter and member of the BSPA management committee. For once it looked as if we might have some clout and with Stuart on the committee he might help drag speedway into the 21st century. Now not to be. Maybe he could be put in charge of the BSPA.
  3. ok jenga your right. lets sell tickets for a match and don't give a toss if the riders or team managers are trying to win. they are just practising and larking about but we'll charge full prices. that approach will really bring the crowds in. remind me how are worky's crowds doing,
  4. Wrong. If you want to get up to speed then go and practise. This was a well promoted match between fierce local rivals for a trophy that has a long proud history. It attracted a big crowd and I'm sure armadale will as well.
  5. It wisnae a challenge it was the Scottish cup and I know if I was a monarchs fan I'd be wanting my manager to try everything to win or keep the score tight. By the way enjoyed last night. Considering the weather track not bad and looks nice and wide. Also looked like a good crowd despite the cold and the other attractions on in Glasgow last night. The score sets up the second leg quite nicely
  6. The suns come out and the forecast keeps getting better. So really looking forward to this. No doubt there will be criticism from Blobby and Co about the track being to wet, slick, rough, patchy, bumpy, wide but as long as they come along and 'enjoy' themselves who cares. c'mon the stripes!
  7. Lots of media interest up here so fingers crossed that the improving Weather forecast is spot on
  8. First meeting of the Scottish season. Lots of questions to be answered on both sides. How will the newbies do, will edinburgh fans bother turning up, will the track hold out after the changes and more importantly will the winter weather result in a postponement.
  9. Well done to Mitchell davey. Hope you keep clear of injuries this year and get some reward for your perseverance
  10. That's a bit harsh. None of us know the reasons so we shouldn't jump to conclusions. In the meantime no doubt Ryan will step in for the match against the monarchs
  11. Have to say I enjoyed Tigers Live last night; its amazing what a group of fans can do when supported by there promotion. Do other tracks do this, presumably Poole but any others.
  12. According to the official site Stuart Dickson is targeting the 4's this year
  13. Both Scottish promotions have come up with an interesting way to try and get big crowd for both legs of Scottish Cup. Glasgow fans can buy tickets for the Edinburgh leg from the Glasgow promotion and Glasgow get the money and vice versa. See this benefitting Glasgow as more Tigers fans likely to go to armadale than monarchs fans to Ashfield
  14. Does anyone know if the free tickets for newbies is carrying on this year. Hopefully the plan agreed with the monarchs works
  15. Or maybe Allen asked Glasgow if they could fit him in and they said thought you had done a deal with scunthorpe
  16. would have thought that at Ashfield at least, a wider track means it will become more difficult for riders to block faster riders
  17. For those that don't think the track looks that much wider from looking at photos it's at least 6 to 7 feet wider so should be brilliant
  18. Full marks once again to the facennas. The Tigers official facebook page https://www.facebook.com/glasgowtigersspeedway/ over the past few days is full of photos and stories about the team all decked out in team jackets/polos/and t shirts. All the team have been up for a few days at boot camp/go ape training days, a fun go kart day including fans; and finishing with a big meet the riders night last night organised by the supporters group at Ibrox. The place was packed. A lot of money has been raised - the supporters Group donated £5,000 towards additional medics/ambulance. I suppose every club is doing this and we just don't here about it?
  19. Its the new year but nothing changes. Two Berwick fans having a disagreement, I'm with you on this one screm, assisted by a worky fan, who else but jenga. Happy new year to all fans, owners, riders and sponsors especially if they are rich
