  1. Spot on but for which team More to follow, as jenga likes to have the last word
  2. Thankfully a Friday evening meeting, start time 7.30pm, so hopefully dust won't be a problem. Looking forward to clashes between Harris and Nicholls should be worth the admission money on there own.
  3. You really do talk a load of dish water. I realise you don't think things have moved on since 2017 since you don't seem to want to run any meetings this year but the free tickets promotion happened last year
  4. Come to Glasgow probably 40% are new or returned
  5. No need to think. A quick look at the speedway gb website and being up to date you can easily see what is required
  6. I see from the title of this thread that Workington have changed their name from Comets to Cornets; not a bad idea since Comet was the name of the failed electrical store and you might get sponsorship from a brass instrument manufacturer or ice cream firm - just a thought
  7. Well done lads. Sorry jenga got my prediction for wee Dan wrong. He was like that for us despite us having loadsa money.
  8. Meant to say earlier but Workington was on my mind some really good racing after the first few heats with Aaron, auty and Allen giving it a go. Track still not perfect but getting there. We have a decent run of Friday matches coming up and with last nights draw things are looking up
  9. whats the weather like? Thinking about coming down with loadsa money in my back pocket and handing it out to the poor Workington fans at the gate. Hope its on for Laura Morgans sake having to pay out for all these away wins and brilliant performances with little or no income coming in due to the fixture planning. Anyway wee dan will score a max and the danes will double there efforts making it a clear home win.
  10. Didn't hear start of it but think jist was that in widening the track they had to dig into the old base and with the weather they haven't been able to get it right. He thanked track staff and everyone who helped particularly over the last week including Doc Bridgett and he got a round of applause from the crowd. Theres and interview with Chris Harris on Glasgow facebook worth watching were he also touches on the track problems
  11. Heavy rain and thunder is forecast for the central belt it might hit Ashfield it might not. A few years ago we had a big black cloud over Ashfield some afternoons and the rest of the Glasgow area was dry. we just have to hope the rain misses Ashfield or perhaps hits it for an hour to give it a soaking and the temperature will do the rest, its getting hot!
  12. Bumps, holes, dust, decliningcrowds, Harris needs to get his finger out. All discussed here or other media. You decide
  13. Club acknowledge likelihood of rain today on official Facebook page and advice fans to keep eye on social media for updates.
  14. dust shouldn't be a problem on Friday, just seen the latest weather forecast
  15. Until a couple of years ago there were a core of supporters that would put up with anything in order to keep the tigers alive. So dust delays defeats all tolerated with a wee moan. The place was a tip no real incentive to encourage newbies. Also during that time bikes get quicker and more likely to crash unless the surface is perfect. So along come the Facenna brothers and they invest and try and run a professional show they want and need bigger crowds. If they come for the first time and you want them to come back you don't want them covered in dust, you don't want the match to drag on and you want to show that the team they have come to see is entertaining committed and worth following. It is easier to do this in the evening than a Sunday afternoon and the Workington and Edinburgh matches are examples of everything that could go wrong did go wrong
  16. Totally agree that the track has to be the priority but unfair to put all the blame on the track staff. The large water tanker was bust apparently limiting what could be done. But its no coincidence that the track was dry slick for the matches we lost. As someone else said Sunday afternoon's are a disaster waiting to happen
  17. Theres the averages, check for yourself http://speedwaygb.co/championshipteamissues18
  18. Think that s why cami brown was brought in as assistant manager. He has sponsored sarjeant for years even when not riding for tigers so they thought he could give him a cuddle and let Stuart dickson concentrate on tactics, talking to refs and so on. He is not having any impact on sarj and if other rumours from the pits are true the guy who helped destroy team spirit last year is at it again and if dickson couldn't prevent it last year brown certainly won't this. Anyone want to rent a speedway stadium
  19. Proper fan and rewarded for supporting your team, can't believe I've just said that but we'll done
  20. Thanks for your input its good to know that you have been allowed access to a a phone
  21. OK the kids race was good but apart from that I'd have to ask you to name them although to be fair the dust didn't help so might have missed some of thrilling action
  22. Well I did say this would be close and to be fair to Edinburgh josh pickering gifted us points in heats 2 and 14 and we still couldn't take advantage. I know theres reasons but 2.5 hours for a match, covered in dust and you wonder how many will come back. Only decent race heat 10 with Harris riding well. So surprised at criticism of him on Facebook and forum. Paid 8 from 3 then crashed due to the track and came out in 15 cos Worrall wouldn't. The manager needs to realise their is more to the job than celebrating wins. Needs to earn respect from fans and riders, not easy
  23. No chance of many monarchs fans coming through which is a shame as they will do well today. There 2 reserves will outscore James and Jack and Wells and the risss have all scored well. So a lot tighter than blobby is suggesting and being an afternoon match who knows what will happen, think Workington
