  1. Glasgow didn't let Bewley go. He was a Belle Vue rider and decided to leave Glasgow. Connor is still a Glasgow 'asset' and is progressing nicely. Last year we chose not to use him and we won the Championship. Last year Tom was getting stick from some fans overhis home form, wrongly in my opinion, and rumour suggests he didn't really want to come back. When clubs are limited by a points limit every year, there will always be difficult decisions to make when building a team and hard decisions will have to be made.
  2. I don't understand why clubs don't employ people to go around to all fans houses to knock on their door and keep them up-to-date with everything speedway related. It's maybe not as efficient as suggesting fans use the new fangled Internet but it would keep everyone happy unless they were down the shops and missed the visit.
  3. For team building the limit is 38 not 40.
  4. Well done to the Birmingham riders last night.
  5. The clock and riders being ready to race before the 2 minutes expire is a uk thing, a welcome new rule.
  6. If Mountain and Ablitt had done more their averages would have increased and you wouldn't have been able to fit them in.
  7. You've seen her at Armadale but have you seen her at a proper speedway track?
  8. Yes you have interesting opinions. I'm still trying to get over the fact that you posted on the Poole thread that they should sign Joe Thompson (already signed by Plymouth) as you were really impressed by him at the U21 at Ashfield earlier this year (Joe didn't impress, he wasn't even there, it was his brother Dan) and that he beat Tarasenko 'fair and square' in the play-off final (despite Vadim having bike issues). Definitely 'interesting'.
  9. Firstly, Joe wasn't in the U21 meeting at Ashfield, it was brother Dan that impressed. Secondly as already posted at the time Vadim felt his engine vibrating and was trying to nurse the bike home. You will remember he won his first 3 rides and was extremely fast. To be fair Joe didn’t give up unlike some more experienced riders and managed to pass him but they were both some way behind. To put Joe's performance in perspective he scored 2+1 from 6 rides. I wish him well at Plymouth.
  10. How he rode for Birmingham last year is irrelevant. Claus Vissing was shocking for Birmingham in 2022 and this year was excellent for us. Lee Complin's signing was criticised by many yet in the play-offs his points and aggressive riding were crucial in us reaching and winning the league title. Glasgow know how to treat their riders and provide them with an excellent track to allow them to show their skills. The aim this year must be to win all our home meetings and then reach the play-offs. Paul will help us do just that.
  11. The Glasgow owners are once again linking the Glasgow line up with local charities and gifting each of them £500. They hope that people will also think about those less well off and also donate what they can to the charity linked to each rider. So each charity will get a bit of publicity and much needed funds. Might explain why they are not releasing the names of the riders all at the same time.
  12. 'You don't think, you suspect and your less sure'. I suspect, though I'm not sure, that this means you don't know.
  13. The last few posts sum up what's crazy about British speedway
  14. And presumably that's why he was at the End of Season bash on Friday evening - discussing terms for when he comes back into the team just before the play-offs
  15. Nice to see 6 of this year's Championship winning team at the end of season do last night.
  16. Well obviously if your promotion, for example, suggests a points limit below 38 because he thinks it's fair and sensible you can perhaps understand if other promoters having spent weeks trying to put together a team with a 38 limit decide to throw it out.
  17. Welcome to the Glasgow Tigers 2024 page, but thought I'd mention something that has got nothing to do with 2024. Just watched the 2023 Grand Final home leg on BSN - its really worth watching. If you don't know the score, Glasgow won 52-38.
  18. I don't mind Poole hosting a meaningless end of season challenge. But to even suggest that this match is the final of a tournament held in 2022 is an absolute joke. In reality it is a one off meeting featuring the current Poole team racing against a bunch of riders willing to take a guest booking whilst wearing a Leicester racejacket.
  19. That was my point! He will be brilliant at home, has an excellent style and at times was very very fast. With Bomber hopefully signed he'll also get proper advice. Remember if its a 38 point limit I don't think there will be many away wins. Indeed the way things are you could win the league by just winning your home matches.
  20. With the loss of 4 riders and assuming Bomber, Lee and Ace remain we need riders that can score well at Ashfield and who are also likely to improve. Winning our home matches has to be the priority. So to me Connor Bailey is a no brainer. Thereafter who knows.
  21. What Marcin scored at the BSN final is irrelevant. The Tigers team only got 28! The track was different last night so you can't just assume Marcin would have had a nightmare that's just illogical.
  22. I know its been difficult for you and I can understand your frustration but thought I'd add some facts to your emotional outbursts. From the BSPL web site, Marcin Nowak's Rolling Average from 14 meetings was 7.16. His real average (not Green Sheet) based on his 10 meetings this year was 6.70. His home average was 6.30 and his away average was 7.25. Now do you really think these are the figures of a "no hoper"?
  23. Suppose Stuart is just looking after number one. There's uncertainty over Leicester (Premier league), still up for sale. Birmingham have suggested that thanks to the stadium owners its Monday nights (Premier league) or no speedway. So he's been offered a job in a lower division, it's closer to home and he's not getting any younger. Add in the 'fact' he's always loved Berwick and....... (fill in the usual statements) and it's obviously a no brainer .
  24. Are you saying that Bomber Harris was wrong to defer gate choice to Heat 15 for the first leg and therefore doesn't know what he is doing?
