It is only 'cheating' because there is a rule. Take away the rule and it wouldnt be cheating. Over the years the sport has brought in various rules to try and make things as equal or fair as possible but the one thing they haven't done is try and equalise the bikes. How is it fair to have Jason Doyle on top notch highly sponsored equipment sitting next to Jack Smith who is just starting out on hopefully a long career. Wouldn't it be good for the sport if Jack made the start and Jason had to overtake him. Curently most refs would call it back as they would think Jack must have cheated to outgate the World Champ. Other attempts to equalise the sport include points limits, averages to two decimal places, differing scoring systems - a bonus point for winning on aggregate, but then it was pointed out that that system favours teams with a big home advantage so we change again to reward teams that do well away without winning. Now its starting offences. All these changes were made to make tings more equal and surprise surprise we still have winners and losers. The one thing all these changes haven't done is stop falling crowds. I say go back to basics touch or break tapes and you are out everything else is ok. You might even generate some atmosphere as the crowd gets wound up by the so called cheats. And as a good many have said on here the racing isn't better or worse than before but the atmosphere due to falling crowds is.

I'll pay you in to the next Berwick Glasgow match seeing as you seem to be a deserving case and you can stand in amongst the Glasgow fans and enjoy the banter -
Those interested can check speedway updates site for polish results

Why would there be fixture clashes. if Swindon raced all there matches on the designated days for the PL (Wednesday and Monday) there wouldnt be any clashes. Oh but wait unlike Rye House or Belle Vue he was given dispensation to race some matches on his preferred night, a Thursday. If he doesn't want 'his' riders to race in the CL why has he 'allowed' them to do so.

Its been pointed out in another thread by worky and monarch fans that no such rule exists in the 2018 rule book
-
He might be guesting simply because he is good normally around Edinburgh, a track where speed is not so important compared to other tracks like Sheffield

Glasgow v Lakeside 06/07/2018 7.30pm

Another enjoyable meeting that got better as the night wore on. 7+1 from Lewis 4 rides so r/r did ok; just a real shame that Lewis got injured on Wednesday and possibly out for the season if I heard Michael max correctly. James did what he had to do and felt sorry for Jack winning heat 2 easily when the bike failed then getting the hard heats later on - Ellis, Newman, Morris and Lawson. Couldn't understand why it took so long to run heat 15 but the wait was worth it. Think most fans had expected Harris and Lawson with Worral and Morris but we got Barker and Ellis. And what a ride by barker, why o why didn't he do that for us. Just a shame we have to wait 3weeks to 27 July for our next home league match. -

Lawson and Morris will both get close to a maximum. Ellis will do well so our bottom 3 need to outscore there bottom 3 big time!
