  1. im not going to get involved with whose riding or not. Frankly if the riders named wont get people to attend I don't think the addition of Robert lambert would make a difference. However I do think your a bit harsh suggesting this is a hastily arranged friendly. Some thought has gone into this . fans have said they want weekend meetings so they can travel, not miss work or whatever - tick. don't want there riders to miss a league match cos they are representing there country - no Premiership or Championship meetings on Saturday, so tick; want to see riders ride in the UK who currently only race abroad - Tai and Chris, so tick; want to get back home at a reasonable time -3pm start, so tick; want to see proper test matches - tick. so to sum up the Glasgow promoters, the GB and Aussie management have done a brilliant job to get this meeting on, so get your tick(ets) while you can!
  2. Doyle tweeted on 26 July that it was a shame he couldn't ride today (for his Polish club) but back next week.
  3. Be interesting to see what happens next year assuming there are enough teams left to form a league. Since the Facennas took over they employed Stuart dickson as they thought he had the necessary knowledge and skills to pick and manage a team. Will they do better now he is gone. If nothing else he did them a favour walking out and saving them money
  4. Must say it will be a shame if Workington aren't in the play offs due to being unable to run enough home meetings despite it being the best summer in living memory by the cut-off date. Good luck in the cup
  5. I discovered this last night night by accident - thanks virgin for adding to my package. Have to say I was expecting some thrilling racing but was disappointed. The one difference was the size of the crowd otherwise no different to what we see in UK other than that Swindon meeting which has to be the worst ever
  6. That's the trouble with some riders they try hard to entertain the fans get injured through no fault of their own and then get criticised. Then when they play it safe to ease themselves back to form they get criticised. Aren't speedway fans wonderful
  7. That's p... h. Dixon happy with Harris and it was him that wanted Worrall. Let's be clear why we got humped tonight. Schlein 18 for Ipswich a few weeks ago an Ipswich team thats back in the running for the play-offs. Simply add 11 to his score and suddenly we could have been competitive and fluked a point
  8. Just shows what a major signing and good PR can do to get the crowd in. Sure the Facennas will have been happy with last night. Just hope next Saturdays is even better and can't wait to see Tai and co take on the Aussies
  9. Remember I'm paying you in. Don't worry I'll recognise you unless more than one clown turns up
  10. I take it berge looked brilliant in the race he won
  11. It is only 'cheating' because there is a rule. Take away the rule and it wouldnt be cheating. Over the years the sport has brought in various rules to try and make things as equal or fair as possible but the one thing they haven't done is try and equalise the bikes. How is it fair to have Jason Doyle on top notch highly sponsored equipment sitting next to Jack Smith who is just starting out on hopefully a long career. Wouldn't it be good for the sport if Jack made the start and Jason had to overtake him. Curently most refs would call it back as they would think Jack must have cheated to outgate the World Champ. Other attempts to equalise the sport include points limits, averages to two decimal places, differing scoring systems - a bonus point for winning on aggregate, but then it was pointed out that that system favours teams with a big home advantage so we change again to reward teams that do well away without winning. Now its starting offences. All these changes were made to make tings more equal and surprise surprise we still have winners and losers. The one thing all these changes haven't done is stop falling crowds. I say go back to basics touch or break tapes and you are out everything else is ok. You might even generate some atmosphere as the crowd gets wound up by the so called cheats. And as a good many have said on here the racing isn't better or worse than before but the atmosphere due to falling crowds is.
  12. I'll pay you in to the next Berwick Glasgow match seeing as you seem to be a deserving case and you can stand in amongst the Glasgow fans and enjoy the banter
  13. Glasgow fans have the benefit of being able to support two pairs with the ex tigers of Lawson and Morris favourites to win
  14. Is there a typo here. Perks has 4.7 average. By the way anyone that hasn't looked there's some brilliant photos on the Tigers official Facebook page. The crash sequence really scary and so glad the lad got up right away and walked back to the pits
  15. Pleasantly surprised thought it would be quite good but some of the racing was brilliant. Shows you don't need the top boys to get proper speedway. Just a pity Germany lost most of there team prior to the match due to injury otherwise it would probably have been unbelievable
  16. Those interested can check speedway updates site for polish results
  17. Weather forecast brilliant, so no excuses get yourself to Ashfield and support the Brits or one of the three other teams if you prefer
  18. Why would there be fixture clashes. if Swindon raced all there matches on the designated days for the PL (Wednesday and Monday) there wouldnt be any clashes. Oh but wait unlike Rye House or Belle Vue he was given dispensation to race some matches on his preferred night, a Thursday. If he doesn't want 'his' riders to race in the CL why has he 'allowed' them to do so.
  19. Oops just realised theres a typo in my post, sorry
  20. We know it is all banter with comets fans and I'm sure they'll be up in Glasgow in there 10s to support Dan and the rest of team gb on Saturday night
  21. The two posters know there stuff and then theres you
