  1. Don't know about lightening but the rain started just around 7pm so a good call to call the meeting forward to 3pm. Some cracking racing as well. Well pleased for both Tom and Connor getting heat wins but to be fair the whole team put in a good shift and a mention for Jack Thomas for his efforts.
  2. Clearly the BSPL et al are happy, so no need for you to fret. Its probably just like the problems you can have with getting a new passport, you know you are going to get one but it takes a while for the bureaucrats to issue you with your bit of paper. So sensible people would assume that the correct paperwork is in place, the bit of paper just needs to be issued. PS I realise you are from the 'east' but have assumed that even you know what a passport is. By the way he looked quick today whilst practising.
  3. Note the change in the start time. Heavy rain is forecast from 6pm onwards so sensibly the start time has been brought forward. Difficult one for the Tigers 3rd meeting in 3 days and Scunthorpe have a number of Ashfield track specialists. Just praying for a Tigers win!
  4. Interesting comment but what do you actually mean and how often have you actually seen him ride this year? For example, do you mean he's not the same as when he was in the GPs when he got stick from so called British fans because he wasn't apparently good enough? Or do you mean compared to when he started out? Perhaps you say this just because his Championship green sheet average has fallen from a starting point of 9.93 to 9.32 in 2021? Yet funnily enough despite being 'nowhere near the rider he used to be' he's still performed better, average wise, over the current season than all of the Poole team and respected riders such as Richard Lawson, Nick Morris and Chris Harris. Ignoring assessed averages he is currently 4th in the league, behind Scott Nichols by 0.01, 0.05 behind Sam Masters and 0.12 behind Bjarne Pedersen (ironically another rider that for some reason attracts stick from some fans). As he has grown older he has become even more of a family man, his family comes first, end off. If this means he won't take risks on dodgy tracks - blame the promoters, not him. If he decides it is better to score a bonus point when in third place rather than go flat out to try and win - blame the promoters who brought in the rule that bonus points don't count in your green sheet averages. If he starts to think about next year and feels his family would be better off financially if he does ensure he has an 'attractive' average that will get him a team place AND lots of guest bookings like many other riders allegedly do - again blame the promoters. Just so you know what he can still do on a proper speedway track https://fb.watch/7NZibVvAUj/
  5. Good, not taking any risks when he has three important meetings coming up
  6. Replacing Willie and Luke with Anders (let's have a) Row and Drew Unkempt, are you kidding?
  7. Depends what you mean by more? A great stadium (compared to their competitors), one of the best tracks in the country, exciting fast racing, not a trick track, hosted FIM and international meetings, decent crowds, play - offs every year, good numbers of young people all wearing club colours, etc - all achieved. But hey they are still striving to make things better so let's have a go at them. If enough jealous fans keep slagging them off maybe they'll chuck it and we can then all wallow in mediocrity.
  8. Interesting that so many non Glasgow fans are speculating about Glasgow, its good to know you all care
  9. So only one Eastbourne rider was willing to take a non programmed ride (heat 15) yet Lawson gets the stick. Your money pays Leicester riders not Eastbourne riders and they weren't willing to take the risk of getting injured for no pay. Ironically they should have taken the ride and pulled up with an engine failure. In that scenario they wouldn't have got any stick and they would have reduced their average albeit just slightly. Clearly they wanted to make a statement and this worked albeit sadly resulting in the the demise of the Eagles - not the fault of the riders but the owners.
  10. I take it you would agree to work overtime for your boss even though they hadn't paid you your weekly wages for a few weeks despite promises?
  11. Good result and good to see everyone getting in amongst the points. Had a look at the updates site, always like to see what other people think of the meeting, and I really can't believe the comments from some sad people.
  12. If Plymouth beat Leicester and Poole beat Edinburgh, Mr Lawson might not be able to guest for Glasgow
  13. In reply to some of Iainb's comments , I'm not sure who is involved on a day to day basis with Leicester other than Stuart Dickson being the team manager and promoter(?) At Glasgow when it was run by Dickson and Dick, all the admin was done by Alan Dick. Stuart concentrated on the team, track and chatting to and agreeing with fans after the meeting. Since the Facennas took over Stuart walked out for whatever reason and then joined Leicester. Meanwhile Alan is still appreciated and involved at Ashfield.
  14. So the crazy rumour about Kennet replacing one of the top three could be true??
