  1. God its really really really a shame Workington had to close down and sensible considerate intelligent fans have been lost to the sport and this Forum. On the other hand........
  2. I wasn't there tonight nor bought the stream so can't comment on the performance of individual riders but I always take the view you win as a team and lose as a team. Can't help wonder whether our enforced wait didn't help us. Firstly if the quarter final had been completed when it should we wouldn't have been up against kemp, Rowe and Edwards. Also our guys were possibly not as sharp as they had been due to lack of racing. I watched the monarchs official updates, BSF updates and comments on the supporters Facebook page and was amazed at how the same incident was reported differently. I always thought things would be tight and wonder if Broc being excluded at Ashfield resulting in a 4-2, and possibly a 5-1 if he'd been patient, turning into a 3-3 was a key moment. Now do we hope that the team now know what to expect and get there set ups sorted tomorrow or do we hope the weather does us a favour?
  3. Or perhaps just keeping himself safe. Let's be honest Armadale is pretty poor normally but trying to race in October is a bridge too far. He showed tonight what can be achieved even with broken fingers when on a proper speedway track.
  4. Yep get everything for free and then wonder why it's not there anymore - great strategy by true speedway fans
  5. There is a big difference between saying 'you can watch it' and 'you can watch it for free'. Which is it? Or perhaps the stream is going to be sold to polish TV?
  6. So you log on hoping to see something from the fans of Edinburgh about their forthcoming fixtures against Glasgow and discover you have to read a thread headed ''Play off Q/F Edinburgh v Redcar Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd October' . Presumably all future meetings will also be discussed under this thread, if so I'll delete mine.
  7. SPEEDWAY GB - British Speedway Official Website see it's not difficult when you try
  8. That's why there are almost 2 pages discussing it on the Redcar thread with you a 'key' contributor.
  9. Whose website? And in any case what has that got to do with discussing forthcoming fixtures against Glasgow on a Redcar thread?
  10. Could Edinburgh fans please post all relevant information on forthcoming fixtures at Armadale against Glasgow here rather than on the Edinburgh v Redcar thread or are you all too embarrassed?
  11. Clearly the Poles are taking this seriously bringing over Musielak as their 6th rider when they could easily have used Glasgow's Marcin Nowak. Musielak was unbelievable in the Grand Prix Challenge using Brady Kurtz's bike, so goodness knows what he'll be like if he has his own machine! Just hope the weather is kind. The weather has been unpredictable recently with it pouring with rain in one part of the City and dry in another so fans shouldn't assume if it is raining where they live or if approaching Glasgow that it will be raining at the track but then again .........
  12. 'Possibly media work involved' as Phil Lanning said in last night's Glasgow programme you will only attract the attention of the media if there is a controversial story. So how about 'Brennan refuses to participate in pointless media work for Team GB preferring to ride for his team.' Obviously only if Tom is selected and if Glasgow are riding on Friday night.
  13. Really. Most sportsmen want to play/compete not sit around playing cards or whatever. They certainly don't want to be sitting worrying about a forthcoming fixture or worrying about getting injured. The best thing for Tom, if selected for GB, would be to go out and score well at Edinburgh on the Friday and go into the SoN full of confidence.
  14. See Snapper's post detailing the Son FIM Timetable, there is nothing happening on the Friday. So who were the 'people' , worried fans who heard something from someone who heard something from someone else? Or was it from the Tigers management/owners? If the latter I would worry if the former, it is just terracing gossip. And at this stage we don't even know if Tom will be in the team, albeit he is the obvious choice.
  15. That's a bit harsh. Pickering clearly tried his guts out but on this occasion just didn't pick up the points his efforts normally achieve. Also give some credit to the Tigers riders who were immense and were unlucky not to take a bigger lead to Armadale. Just hope its enough.
  16. Yep it's a deliberate ploy to try and stop the two best teams from winning the league. Play offs are bad enough but to have the top six involved is crazy add in the fact that they are being held in October and its madness.
  17. Does anyone else think that this could be a betting scam? What odds would you have got at a bookies that the two home teams would lose their leg of the quarter finals of the play offs followed by the following leg being postponed due to lack of ambulance cover and both rearranged for next Tuesday?
  18. Firstly hope James is OK. Secondly sympathies to both promotions and sets of fans. Also to the Poole and Glasgow promotions riders and fans who are sitting patiently wondering who they will be playing and when in the semis. It does make you wonder about the sense of having 6 teams in the play offs and as others have said trying to run important matches in October.
  19. So you will know that there is a rail strike that day so no trains to Ashfield Station, that some motorway slip roads are closed which helps clog up the roads even more and that the 'rush hour', even in normal circumstances, can be a real pain. Starting the match earlier would mean many of the crowd having to take a half day off work.
  20. According to Glasgow's Official Face Book page 'Tickets are selling fast. Seated tickets sold out'
  21. You have to remember that Stephen is a Glasgow fan and that when the speedway clashed with his football commitments he chose the football, hence the need for stand-ins like Phil. This would suggest that his football work is more lucrative than the speedway. I would imagine that Michael, being a co-promoter, and Phil who is at Glasgow every week, would have done it for nothing or perhaps for a free pie and soft drink
