  1. Yep, the temporary signing of a no.7 speedway rider will be front page news. Don't understand your emoji 🙃
  2. Presumably you'll be using a 'Fran and Anna' tribute act (for anyone south of the border - google them) to announce Edinburgh's final rider?
  3. Neither do I ! Read my post again and just to emphasise. PTW wrote Cairns will be replacing 'me' . In other words PTW must think he is the Poole no.7 and he knows Cairns will replace him.
  4. I have to say that Paul Starke did disappoint me. However I seem to recall that when he tried big blasts coming out of the 2nd bend he was inadvertently blocked by his team mate, lost momentum and thereafter couldn't make much of an impact in the race. His machinery/chains also let him down. When he did gate he was fine and with Poole being a gate and go track he should do OK against the less experienced reserves in opposition teams.
  5. Berwick have had decent teams over the last couple of years. They unfortunately have suffered badly with injuries.
  6. What confuses me is why the 'rules' re Rising Stars are being discussed on the Oxford Cheetahs 2025 page.
  7. That's easy for you to say but let's be honest who would offer you any sort of signing on fee.
  8. Not surprised. Connor Bailey used to post videos of him winning races in the U24 Polish league and it looked more like a behind doors practice session- no one was there! Wonder if this contributed to Connor's decision to 'retire', hopefully just temporarily. Young lads could easily get themselves into debt and if they can't pay their bills when they don't get paid what they are owed, what can they do.
  9. James was a very skilful and fast young rider around Ashfield, everyone who visited Ashfield could see that. He beat a lot of good riders in his first season with the club. He probably had only visited most away tracks twice at the most before joining the Tigers, so his away form wasn'ta complete surprise. To me he was a success and I'm really disappointed that he's not in next year's team.
  10. I want to say nope but what about Claus
  11. And that's why he's signed for Oxford Look at the confirmed riders on the 1st page
  12. I'm not going to comment on your views of Boughen and Coles. One thing I can say is that Jack Smith gave 100% for Glasgow and suggesting that if Boughen continues to perform the way he has done recently he would end up like Jack is out of order.
  13. Oh I don't know, Anders Rowe did well - got a full Championship contract replacing Steve Worral, an 8.13 rider, scored a lot of bonus points and got his Championship GSA back to an employable level (6.27), Job done.
  14. Presumably Glasgow bound although that might be just whispered gossip
  15. Dickies Head did say it was simple gossip.
  16. Why would Poole want a 38 point limit having been against it for the last few years?
  17. It's OK we are widening the track again and getting a new air fence.
  18. Perhaps Fraser Bowes would fit at no. 7?
  19. i have no idea who we are signing or have signed but for the record would love to see James Pearson back. James is still only 19. He's had 2 seasons in the UK prior to this which must have been a huge learning curve - from aussie tracks to Birmingham and Plymouth! He started with a GSA of 4.08 and increased it to 5.51 which is pretty good. How many riders add c1.5 points to their average racing at a new track? I also wouldn't be opposed to Jack Smith returning either. He has beaten some good riders around Ashfield this year and been totally committed to the team.
  20. Are you really a Glasgow fan. Tigers fans in general like to see riders trying. They realise not every rider can score a maximum. One thing Leon can't be accused of is not trying. He hasn't always been quick enough or picked the right lines on the track BUT he tries and contributes to the team's overall performance. Last night he tried his guts out once again and in Heat 15 he crucially held back Boughen thus meaning Bomber only had Masters to worry about. He started the season with a 6.40 Green Sheet average achieved at a track where he had ridden for a good few years. He has moved to a different type of track and he achieved a modest increase to 6.82. He is clearly disappointed that he didn't do better but it would be madness to replace him now that his efforts are being rewarded with more points.
