Comet Dan replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That information has just been forwarded from the BSPA press release. If Glasgow or any other team has updated their line up then the BSPA info needs updating. -

Late change for the Rockets - Kennett out, former Comets favourite Stead in. Edward injured his elbow last night. -
For those who've forgotten the way to Derwent Park the postcode is CA142HG, it's the big stadium with the rugby posts sticking up! The forecast looks fine for tomorrow so lets hope for an entertaining contest against the Rockets, Edward is always good value and seems to be fit after recent illness. Branford guests for Karger Comets - Wells, Campton, Hansen, Jensen, Vissing, Roynon, Williamson Rockets - Kennett, Lykke, Lanham, Heeps, Robson, Branford, Morley

It's sad to read these comments. It's been incredibly frustrating for everyone concerned but we cannot beat Mother Nature. We hope to see as many there as possible on Saturday. Fingers crossed for a sunny day.

It'll be 5, but obviously it's far too long without a home meeting. I think a practice will be arranged at some point for sure. -

July 16th with any luck Jenga! Very frustrating for everyone concerned, track was very wet from rain in the last 24 hours and there is more to come. Makes sense to call it early and allow people to make the plans for their Saturday. -
Probably our toughest home meeting of the season coming on the back of a very poor showing on Monday night, what better way to put things right! The Tigers boast 2 former Comets number 1's and captains in their side as well as Worrall and Summers who both go very well around Derwent Park. Comets - Wells, Campton, Hansen, Jensen, Vissing, Roynon, Williamson Tigers - Lawson, Garcia, Worrall, Bach, Summers, Sissis (G), Ayres

I believe similar speeds are hit into turn 3 at Derwent Park as well. Owlerton has the highest average speed though. -

The weather is currently cloudy but clear, the rain forecast for later is a lot less than earlier, a shower around 4pm and that's it. As long as nothing unexpected hits we will be good to go at 7pm, safe journey to all those travelling. -

Great Heat 15 that, one of the best. -
Comets will be looking to put on a better showing than we did in the cup meeting a few weeks ago when we were caught out by the sharper Rebels. Both teams at full strength, no England footy, should be a cracker! Comets Ricky Wells Mason Campton Kenneth Hansen Rasmus Jensen Claus Vissing Adam Roynon Matt Williamson Rebels Josh Grajczonek Bradley Wilson Dean Charles Wright Paul Starke Rohan Tungate Jake Allen Zach Wajknecht

A bike being pushed probably does very damage, a bike under power however could do a lot of damage, this is why the rule is kept simple - no bikes on the pitch at all, it really is that simple and has been that way for as long as I've been involved and been largely kept to, trouble free, until last night sadly. As I said earlier, it's not our stadium so we have to abide by the rules. -

The riders are told before the meeting about not going on the grass, it's also stated in the local rules which are on a large sign in both sets of pits. The track staff are also told to keep the riders off the grass if they go on during the meeting so the gentleman in question was just doing as he asked. Unfortunately Alex Davies didn't pay attention to any of that. It was very unpleasant and I won't comment any further on it because I would probably get myself in trouble! The BSPA rules which was brought in this year was to protect the people on the centre green, I believe due to a near miss at another track last season. At Derwent Park it is a particularly hot topic because the rugby club really do not like a bike or anything else going on their pitch, especially the day before a match, we rent the stadium from them so have to respect their wishes. -

Line ups confirmed as above, its been a cloudy day but everything will be ready for the 6pm start. -
It's a 6pm start for this one to allow people to get home to watch the football. The Comets are without Rasmus Jensen as he has been called up by Denmark for the Semi Final of the European Pairs in Italy, he will also miss our trip to Newcastle on Sunday. As European meetings aren't recognised officially by the BSPA we have to run with a National League rider at number 4. We are grateful to Ryan Blacklock for stepping in. Line ups TBC Comets - Wells, Campton, Hansen, Blacklock, Vissing, Roynon, Williamson Scorpions - Auty, Kerr, Davies, Palm Toft, Douglas, Wilkinson, Bailey

It was Dave who mentioned that Jenga but I'd be very surprised if Rasmus rides in Poland anytime soon. He is genuinely injured and a doubt for next weekend, hope he has a speedy recovery. -
