  1. It would be surprising if 'Agent Cook' only brought one bike for a guest booking, considering that he would travel in a van that could comfortably accommodate 2 bikes. Possibly the issue is that Craig is struggling for form/consistency this season compared to last? I'm not saying he didn't turn up with only 1 bike, but that it's surprising a strong PL heat leader would come to a meeting with only 1 bike unless his spare needed too much work...
  2. Heat 15 is the big climax (like last Sunday, when the Diamonds at least had a chance to win, albeit the 5-1 went to the visitors). I will often watch second half 'races' but I wouldn't want them to trample on watching the pros for 15 heats - not 13!! Who will turn out in these proper second halves? More often than not the development riders do four laps and then all four lights are on to signify the end of the meeting. It can only help speedway to give track time to developing riders but let's please keep 15 races from the pro's first. Remember also that one of the attractions of live speedway is getting lots of professional races for your £16. Watching developing riders should be a SUPPLEMENT, not a REPLACEMENT for heats 14-15. It's a big difference between watching your PL team of pro riders trying to get vital points as opposed to exchanging opinions on which development rider seems to have the pace to step up in the next few years.
  3. Can't see this team being wooden spoon but also we haven't hardly seen the collective 1-7 for injuries...
  4. Kudos to you for trying to drum up support. I personally have never understood the 'I'll come if I think we will win a trophy' brigade. As long as your team doesn't get repeatedly spanked at home, surely you either do or don't want live speedway? One question though, Diamonds have survived previous closures, why would another (god forbid) be terminal? I for one will continue to turn out and support the lads every week. This team has the talent and potential for most to add to their averages. Makes me laugh when posters on this forum talk about abandoning this team and becoming a Berwick supporter (no disrespect to Berwick, I always like visiting your fast track with its seating and great choice of viewing points). Oops!! Blasted double-click.
  5. From some of the comments on this thread, you would think Sheffield had come and hammered us rather than been lucky to lose by only 5.
  6. Given that Christian WAS dropped last year, I would think he's not the main reason the books balance. IMO Lewis R and Christian are the only fit riders who have under-performed overall do far this season. Great to see their recent improvement because I thought this team, in particular Lewis R, could all add to their averages this season. Perhaps Lewis R can indeed now start to clean up at reserve. Christian is a solid performer who can bring heat wins as well as points and is well worth sticking with. Rosen - promising rider injured (again) when getting into the groove. Worrall - absolutely sensational. Lindgren and Kerr - both obviously nailed-on in the team, good bets at home who can have a crack away as well. Nielsen - reliable reserve scoring the points for us, wants to ride for the Diamonds, evidently fits into the budget...why sack a reserve who's doing their job well...? I don't think we need team changes, we simply need to see all 7 of the riders actually turn out and then see if we can nab 6th place.
  7. An improvement for the Bears. Need to strengthen a couple of spots then some home wins will follow.
  8. Hopefully Bears can get a much-needed win on a sound track and there may then be less of the worrying rumours about not completing the season...
  9. No-one wants your business to struggle when speedway in general is struggling. Fans have raised the question of NL meetings...let's have your take on that...?
  10. Six 5-1s to the Border Raiders = 30 - 6. Newcastle had an injured / Withdrawn in Heat 1
  11. Lindgren and Henry are getting some good scores whereas Lewis R seems to be struggling a bit this season, hope things improve for him. What's Berwick's parade lap music BTW? Like it...
