  1. To be fair if we have signed Lewis Kerr I would expect is average to go up as he rode a lot of last season at number 1. He is more likely to be at number 3 or 4 for the Witches , making for easier rides. I dont know anything about our possible number 7 so can't comment on him. Lewis Rose, if he is our number 6 is more than capable of improvement also. Stefan Nielson could be the crucial one and I believe with the right backing he is also capable of putting a small amount onto his average. This is all guesswork though as we have no official team announced yet.
  2. It definitely was a stupid mistake if he did tell all. Only time will tell if it is the team rumoured on here. I will say ,that if it is the team the top 4 will be as good as any team I would imagine. If the bottom 3 can up their averages it could be a very good team.
  3. Yes I see your point about the centre green. A good idea but totally impractable for most clubs.
  4. A few ideas to speed up the meetings and make them more interesting. Ban all riders from getting of bikes at start line to do gardening. Some clubs to make more effort to make the introduction of riders more exciting with a proper parade. Rye house springs to mind of being appalling at this. More presenters needed like Kevin Long at Ipswich. How about having pits on the centre green so everyone can see what's happening in the pits?. A live microphone in the pits so we all get to hear the chats between the ref and riders or team manager. Might need a bleep machine for that though lol. Also do away with the daft tactical rule we use now and go back to the old version of when a team 6 points down any rider can be used as a replacement so long as all riders have at least 3 rides and each rider can only be used once as a tactical. Just a few thoughts. Sure none will be used but be nice to hear what other people's ideas are.
  5. It's easy to say that crowds are falling which is true. But take a look at nearly all sports and they all have the same problem. I go to watch Ipswich Town occasionally and trust me this year the entertainment has been 10 times worse than anything on offer at Foxhall and more than twice the price.people have a lot more things to spend there money on nowadays. That's just a fact of life. It's easy to think that a good idea is to speculate to accumulate but if a business doesn't have lots of spare cash to do that then how can they possibility do that?. I actually think the racing in general for the last two years has been good at Ipswich and only let down by the lack of efforts of certain riders at times . It looks like Chris has addressed that problem by omitting them from his team for next year. Nexts years team May or may not win anything but so long as we can all see that are doing there best that's fine with me.
  6. I agree. Chris Louis does do a great job. Keeping the club running and not making any money can't be fun at times. It goes for a lot of the other promoters up and down the country. It's just a shame that the annual conference seems to ended as a damp squid with very little changing. I have not even read anywhere if the crap tactical sub rule is staying. Go back to the old way of being 6 points down and bringing in another rider as used in Sweden. Not rocket science .
  7. Blimey what a lot of moaners seem to be on here. Be gratefully that there is speedway to watch next year. I'm one of the so called "gullible" who go along every week to watch and I would rather watch speedway than sit at home every Thursday during the summer. Chris Louis can only assemble a team that he can afford just like any business should do. Also as everyone knows a winning team on paper rarely comes up trumps anyway. Team spirit far more important like any team sport. If the team rumoured on here is correct then I think team spirit will be good. Having said that im not sure Chris will be happy with Mr Hilton giving the team out in the fashion that he did. Very unprofessional to say the least.
  8. It's not tonight that has cost us the tie. It was agreeing to go to Edinburgh with half a team for the first leg.
  9. It's about time this so called sport of ours we love is run by totally independent people with no bias towards any team. When You have jokers Like Rob Godfrey on the board who thinks it's acceptable to behave like he did last week then this sport is just going to go down the pan. Come on Chris if you read this start making waves.
  10. Now Tungate has received his punishment rightly or wrongly will the other wrongdoings on the night by the home teams promoters includinng the sit in now be suitably punished? And if not why not?
  11. Funnily enough I work next to a specsavers!. It's all about opinions and because it's not all cut and dried looking at the video that's why there is various opinions. I would also expect the BSPA and SCB to look at the track sit in. That must be classed as bringing the sport into disrepute. Now off to get my eyes checked. Maybe the video will look different lol.
  12. Please can we all now move on and just let the SCB and the BSPA do there stuff!. I have watched the video loads of times and the bottom line is that I proves nothing. Speedway supposed to be a friendly family sport so let's get back to that hey?
  13. Watched the you tube clip now a few times and the only thing that is certain is that the evidence is inconclusive. Any thing else that people are saying on here are only opinions. If that evidence was shown in court it would be thrown out before the case started. I wasn't there so only the video to go by though. Sounds I missed a cracker of a meeting lol.Roll on the match at Ipswich in a few weeks!
  14. just watched the utube clips and i have to say that there is no way anyone can say that Tungate deliberately rode into Auty. He neither sped up or slowed down. Anyone who thinks different was watching a different video clip to me. Obviously only Rohan knows for sure but on that evidence it looks like no case to answer. As for the first staging it looked like Auty moved across Tungate but from the angles we can see even then its not 100% clear. what is clear is the appalling language of the supporters we can hear. That will really encourage family's to come and watch! Certainly was an entertaining evening by the sounds of it .
  15. Well looking at all the goings on last night it seems that the old saying of all publicity is good publicity rings true. Shame I missed the meeting.certainly got everyone talking about it. I can't comment on what happened as I wasn't there but it does seem that people on both sides don't come out of this with too much credit. I would be suprised though if Ipswich were to have points taken of them at a later date as the riders and promotor/team manager of Scunthorpe seem to have hardly set themselves in glory either. Two wrongs don't make a right. Bring on the match at Foxhall in 2 weeks !
  16. Good entertainment last night but ultimately Ipswich again fell short. Track prep is definitely not to the home riders liking and has to be sorted. Way to much grip for the quality of riders racing in the premier league. Put grand prix riders out there and they would love it bit I'm afraid Ipswich are not a team or grand prix stars! I see that the team manager wasn't happy but he should look at himself as well. Shocking decision not to put Richie in heat 14 after his effort in his previous race. Not his First mistake either. Full marks to Danny and Nick though. Nico seems to run different gearing as he seems to he revving a lot more and as as result has a far easier ride. He and Danny made the track look easy.
  17. Not posted on here before but I must say it was another poor effort from the Witches tonight. I include the team manager in that as I have no idea why Richie didn't replace Stefan in heat 14. Not the first mistake that has been made this season . Having said that it was a highly entertaining meeting with plenty of drama. Riders don't seem happy with a lot of dirt on the track but then they not grand prix level riders. Ipswich need to turn this season around fast starting with a win at Plymouth tomorrow.
  18. Poor all round from Ipswich tonight and I include the team manager in that. Can someone please explain why Richie didnt replace Stefan in heat 14?. Having said that, a good meeting although maybe the track prep man needs to realise that the riders ain't grand prix riders who love a grippy track. Still great entertainment and well done to Berwick.
  19. Sounds easy winning at Plymouth . Trouble is won't we be without Danny King and Stefan Nielson as Coventry riding Belle Vue the same night. Not good timing. Choice of guests will be crucial. Any idea who may be available?
