  1. here in Felixstowe the roads are damp but that's it. looking at the radar it all looks OK ish
  2. That could well be correct but heaven help us if we have to take orders from local councillors. Here in Felixstowe they must be the most incompetent bunch of fools that ever lived lol
  3. to be fair mask wearing outside is pointless and not required by law. It seems local councils have been given powers to make their own rules up which is never a good idea as most of them are totally clueless and that comes from dealing with my local council lol
  4. the greatest risk by far for those who attended last night was getting in their cars and driving especially the drive back to Ipswich lol. Standing in the open air and socialising with mates you not seen for over a year has to be more beneficial than sitting at home I would have thought but then everyone is entitled to their opinions. certainly Covid has divided the country as much as Brexit lol. All in all a good meeting considering and made even better with an Ipswich win
  5. As far as I am aware stadiums can hold 50% of capacity. I was there and if that is the case no problems with braking covid rules as although a good crowd it definitely was not more than half full. some just want to slag off promoters
  6. so ordered tickets for Ipswich v Belle Vue next week. tickets came through within minutes. Did the same with 2 tickets for Kings Lynn v Ipswich on Monday. Got the ref number but no email in return with the 2 tickets. Anyone else having the same problem? Odd as they both using the same ticketing system I assume?
  7. And just a side note. If the admission is £20 remember 20% of that goes to good old Richie sunak as VAT ,so actually the money the promoters get is less than £17. A side point I know but please people don't think the promoters are getting the full £20 in their pockets
  8. wow that's an expensive pub lol. value for money is for everyone to judge. Business across the country either thrive or fail by the opinions of their customers. Speedway is no different.
  9. agree an all the above apart from the last line lol. be great to get in a stadium again for a night out and what ever the result let's hope we all have a great evening !
  10. It may or not be overpriced but what are we comparing it to? a pub meal and a pint is 15 quid but watching Ipswich football club( before lockdown) was over £30 . At the end of the day it's all about what we all feel is value for money. I guess time will tell on what crowd levels will be this year hey?
  11. its the same with nearly all entertainment now though?. Not saying its the right way for entertainment businesses to go but for sure that's how they all operate. I would not want to be in their position for sure
  12. That's fair enough. I must admit I stopped going to watch Ipswich Town Football club years ago as it was then £32 for a match day ticket and the entertainment level was appalling. I hate to think what football costs to watch now. So it's all about what people think is a fair price for what is offered. I go to Foxhall every meeting not just for the speedway but also the company and social interaction with mates which makes it a good evening out and breaks up the working week .
  13. so just interested what do you think is a fair price to watch speedway? I don't like the fact that prices are going up but they are going up with everything we buy now. just look at petrol prices. Unfortunately it's the world we live in and the reasons for that are not for a speedway forum lol
  14. I see your point and it's a shame the promoters don't come out and explain why prices have gone up. mind you imagine being an Ipswich Town FC season ticket holder who had to pay out and only see their team on I follow this year. If you want rip offs that is top of the list lol. luckily I wasn't one of them !
  15. yes I see your point and tbf the last time I was at King's Lynn the track was appalling. Made for rubbish racing. But also having the top riders on show does not guarantee good racing. I have seen more rubbish grand prix meetings than good ones over the years. The bottom line is though do we want to have an evening out again or all sit in our living rooms as per the last 14 months and slowly stagnate? I know the cost of admission is an issue for some and I fully understand it but as with everything in life if you feel its not value for money save your pennies and sit at home.
  16. so anyway back to proper speedway matters. Are we expecting full strength teams for Monday and if so what are the predictions? Has to be a very hard meeting to call under the circumstances
  17. the price of furniture was just an example of prices going up . although the businesses, like you say may not have made a loss the guys running the sport have not been paid any sort of wage for a year. If you know anything about business then you would know that many businesses on paper run at a loss but the owners still get a wage. look at Phillip Green if you want an example. No wish to get in an argument but it seems very odd that people will pay £18 but not £20. would you walk out of a pub if the meal you normally ordered had gone up a quid as surely they will very soon. it's easy to knock speedway promoters and they do make some weird decisions at times I admit but surely we all want to get our lives back and get out of this bloody pandemic and if that means paying £2 more then so be it. .
  18. not sure how £20 admission means the sport is a disgrace!. If you run any sort of business like I do you would know that costs are going through the roof. An example of my business is that imported furniture trade prices have gone up 30% since January. why would speedway costs not have gone up along with everything else and unlike my business speedway teams have had very little government help. Just wait until early next year when inflation will be running at very high levels.. I for one can not wait for the season to start again but if you don't want to pay £20 quid, simple don't go. fed up with all the negatives on here. Looking forward to my annual trip to King's Lynn on Monday. Hopefully a good crowd to watch the witches take the 1st win of the season
  19. Just goes to show how totally clueless the ones making the rules are! At least we have some speedway to watch for those who want to pay to view .My worry is this will be the normal now and I fear for all sports next year to.
  20. More to the point. how on earth can a stock car meeting run with 2500 spectators run while no other event in the country is allowed to? I have nothing against stock cars and good luck to them but somehow the rules have gone mad! Also with the banger world final Ipswich will be seeing an influx of people from all over the country.. My opinion of the rules is that many of them are total madness, but surely if we have these rules no crowds of 2500 are supposed to happen?
  21. So will spedeworth still be allowed to run stockcar meetings? The banger world final is scheduled for Foxhall in 2 weeks with apparently 2500 fans allowed in.
  22. I for one would be happy with Chris Holder but if it is someone else who is could come in a 7 pt ish average. NKI is the only one I can think of. Would any poles be willing to race for us ? Of for that matter any other foreign riders? I can not think of many
  23. I have to regretably agree. Also put Lawson back at number 2. Put cam and Jake at 3 and 4 too. Not working with Cam at 2. Main problem though is why on earth can none of them gate at Ipswich?
  24. I am here . I cant hide away from that pathetic performance. And yes Mr Harris was awful. Cant defend him or any other of the riders after that. More performances like that and the play offs will be gone!
  25. Cheeky monkey! Ok 2nd until at least monday night
