I just can’t see Tungate being in the team but who knows. Made a decent discussion though on who we will have. I still have a feeling there will be a new second heat leader
-
Ah fair enough. I lose track of who owns who nowadays . How owns Peterborough now?
-
I have no idea tbh but surely we do need a big hitter at number 5 . I thought also Chris Holder had a big falling out with Buster at some point ? Problem with getting older my memory not so good lol.
-
I tend to agree. I still feel there is one rabbit in the hat to be pulled out by Chris Louis . He will know our weakness last year when the going got tough was a reliable 2nd heat leader. holdering out for some good news soon lol
-
I still think there will be a big hitter at number 5. Paul Starke had a bad year last year mainly due to always being injured and lots of engine fails. If that all gets sorted then on that average its a total no brainier to have him. Would free up plenty of points to get a really good number 5 (maybe Holder? I’m sure all will become clear very soon Would leave us a bit weak at reserve though I admit if Paul doesn’t hit the ground running but on 2021 season efforts he would put a point or two on his average

Could you swap Cook for Brennan and bring in Adam Ellis as the last rider? Would that fit or has Ellis resigned for Sheffield ?
-
I think that Doyle has to be the first name on the team sheet purely down to his efforts last year despite his high average. As for the rest of the team we definitely need at least 3 riders who have an average that will( or should be) improved on. If we go with some who have been mentioned on here then that wont be the case but as yet none of us have any idea who is going to make up the team. Im sure Mr Louis is desperate to put out a winning team so let’s wait and see who is announced hey? I have a suspicion there will be one or maybe two surprises when the team is announced and hopefully for the good.

Who actually cares anyway as the season is done with. Will they rerun the final if Ipswich win at Sheffield ? No!!! so can someone actually explain what the point of the changes are unless Ipswich plan to get hammered at Sheffield( if it takes place) to lower the averages even I , who loves speedway is pretty fed up with how the season has all ended

Sheffield v Wolves 06.19.22 PO semi second leg

What awful tv coverage!! -
That’s true unfortunately but something damn well needs to be put in place. Simple rule. If the home team can’t for fill all there fixtures the away team gets all points. for gods sake they only need to have 10 home fixtures over 5 months! it’s inexcusable that teams can not get all their home fixtures in especially considering the summer we have had. Maybe Ipswich would have been thrashed if the meeting had taken place and Sheffield would be top anyway but we don’t know what would have happened. those at the top need to sort this out for next year but I fear the same old same old
-
To be fair that’s a pretty obnoxious post! we have seen the best entertainment this season for many years and yes last night was a disaster but there is no need for that sort of nastiness. yes I do agree that maybe we don’t need Danny back on the average that he has as it will almost certainly go down and also I don’t think Troy will be back. the one rider we do need back and I agree with you on that one is Jason. Built the team around him and make sure we have a team of improvers. one rider I would also have on the team sheet for next year is Danyon. also on another note what a farce that Sheffield finished top. As they were unable to for-fill the fixture against Ipswich it should have been forfeited and all 4 points gone to the away side. It could have been so different if that had happened and I’m very surprised Chris Louis did not make a big deal of this considering the position he has in speedway?

I get your point but as a local business owner who have tried flyers in the past,Trust me they don’t work. A few years ago we sent out 5000 in Felixstowe and we only got one order out of it. they are a total waste of time.

No thanks

Kings Lynn vs Ipswich August 4th
stu219 replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Totally agree. Best number 1 we have for years and years and seems to really enjoy being at Ipswich. We can see that by the amount of help he gives to team mates. Always looking for them on track too. If you read this forum Jason please sign up for next year. With the team we have now you can be almost certain that if we are level or close going into the last 5 heats we will win the meeting. For a few years we knew we would lose . Long may it continue but does depend to a degree on what happens in the next day or so with any planned changes Racing has been good for most of the year at Foxhall too so Chris and his team have to take to take credit for that to. -
Ipswich v Peterborough June 23rd

Weather you agree with the superheat its box office for sure. Just had to see that nonone left before the end and the reaction of the crowd showed the passion. Many have been crying out for this and we got it last night. My thoughts for what its worth is that the super heat should just be for an extra point though. So last night it would have been ipswich 2 points and boro 2 points. Still worth having the super heat though and we all got an extra race and what a race it was hey? -
Ta for that . Nice easy profit from my 20 quid bet!
-
Thats fair enough but what 7 pointer? Were there any available that were in the budget the club could afford. I dont know. And who is to say Klindt even wanted to sign? Its easy for us arm chair followers who do not have to balance the books to think it should be done different. lets enjoy the team we have as for once we actually have a very competitive team who still have room for improvement
-
Who would you have changed from the team we have now?
-
Yes Ben ,after a dodgy start when many were questioning the wisdom of signing him to replace heeps is proving to be a vital member of the team. Those who were saying we were wooden spoon contenders not saying so much now hey? Apart from Peterborough there is little to chose from the other 5 teams but I feel we have not reached our full potential yet. lets hope the injurys keep away from our 7 for a change..
-
Great win from the boys. When we finally get a full team and everyone fires as they can then we are a match for any team despite some writing us off a few weeks ago! and without doubt we finally have a number 1 who has to be the best in the league by far.
-
Ok fair enough. Does open it up for abuse though as any number 7 could pull out and then be replaced by the better reserve. Sometimes the rules are way to complicated for a mere mortal as myself lol
-
How does worrell come in in heat 8 as a replacement. Heat 8 is a protected heat so surely only the number 8 can come in as a replacement??

Its not the rearrangements that cause the problem at the end of the season but the knock on effect it has. It happens every single year . Just look at the play offs last year. People dont go to watch in those crappy october evenings but speedway never learns -
