Although they don't allow bottles into the stadium we've always taken in cartons of juice etc and they've never been confiscated. Also always taken in crisps and things like that and never had a problem...

I think part of the reason is they don't like doing too many early season meetings as the weather is more likely to be bad... Although having just watched the shambles broadcast tonight it may not have worked that well. I feel very sorry for the fans who did make the effort to go...wet and cold would not have been expected on 1st June, to only see 10 races and have one in which your team has no representatives.

It could be that they don't want to ride abroad and be away from their families - King and Barker both have young children, so maybe they don't want to be sitting in airports and on planes for half their time so prefer to just ride in the UK, knowing that realistically they won't be world beaters so they possibly earn more that way than they would from riding abroad anyway
