Redcar Vs Ipswich 20/04/2017
Parsy72 replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This should be a cracker of a meeting. Ipswich have a strong top end with King and Shlein. Heats 13 and 15 should be heart in your mouth stuff. Reserves could play a vital role tonight and Im backing Perks and Hall to shade that battle. Stay behind afterwards if you can and support the Cubs versus Camarthen in a NJL challenge match before next weeks league action get underway. -
Did Eric not change his name in 2000 ish from Kevin Leonard ????

Track was dry again by Sunday evening thankfully :-) With little / no rain this week Terry The Track should have had a couple of good days to prepare a great racing circuit. -

Should be a really good meeting with loads of out and out racers amongst the 13 riders. Weather forecast looks good so get yourselves along. Also it would be great to see as many of you staying behind to watch the Cubs. We really appreciate all the support. -
I guess you could limit the amount of times R/R can be used for 1 rider continuously ? Say 3 home and 3 away then they need replaced. That would allow say a collarbone break of a month to be covered but longer term injuries would need teams to replace. Just a thought.

I think you will find that the draft fixtures have been out for a little while now with each promoter then trying to re arrange as many as possible so they dont conflict with double uppers, foreign leagues and other disciplines ( long track etc ) It must be a nightmare for a promoter these days to try and get everything to work out.

and the same to you Mike. Hopefully meet up next season somewhere for a chat. Take care and keep up the great work.

Mimmo you do a fantastic job with all the statistics and without people like yourself the leagues would not be as good as they are. I just hate the age thing as its just a number at the end of the day. Thanks for the reply and no need to apologise.

I would like to point out that although the eldest rider to ride, which seems to get a mention more times than any other, I probably have the least experience of anyone. This report makes me out to be some old bloke just getting in the way. This was my very first season at the sport and age should just be a number. Surely if you have ambition at what ever age you are you should be given the chance to fulfill it. Its not as if Ive been riding for years and years. Im very grateful for those who saw past my age and could see how determined I am to give this a serious go. I will know when the time is right to step back but hopefully after my first year on a bike i can progress as far as possible next season.

Not sure it would fit but how about - Lambert Worral S Lindgren Rose Morris A.N Other S.O Else might leave us weak at the bottom end but with the new 2 point rule most teams will have at least 1 weak reserve

I remember being at that meeting. He said it was bumpy ;-( Again I remember Darryl not being best pleased.

I believe this match has been forced upon the teams to get it in before cut off dates. Newcastle certainly would rather not have to find 3 guests and run R/R, putting the chances of qualifying into the hands of others ( Im 100% confident in the guests chosen ) rather than their own riders. Fingers crossed for some good racing and some reasonable weather. -
Give the Bandits plenty of credit here, they came to Brough and give the Diamonds plenty of problems. Yes they may be lacking a out and out number 1 but from 1-7 last night they attacked the track and never let us have a comfortable evening. Danny has had a bad weekend and I just hope everyone stays with him and lets him progress like we know he can. Victor showed he can easily maintain his average and once on his own machinery I reckon he will pop up with some important heat wins in heat 8. All in all a entertaining evening with what looked like a good crowd. Great to also see the Gems putting up a great fight against the Raiders. After the big defeat the previous evening it was great to see such a gutsy performance.

Newcastle Vs Workington League Cup 24.04.16 6.30pm
Parsy72 replied to mike7164's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would like to mildly disagree IMHO. Yep Richie Worral scored more hant Kus probably would have but I think Tero would have scored more than the R/R we used scored. On the night Lewis and Danny I dont think beat a Workington rider and between them had three of Teros rides. So maybe the 8 points would have been the most 10 ? just my thoughts but dont shoot me for it lol Still think both sides are very good for a top 8 finish come the end of the season :-) -
this showed at Workington on Saturday. Rose and Phillips didnt manage to beat an opponent all night which cost us dearly. At home RR is ok with Rose flying at Brough but we cant put that type of pressure on them away. Plus if one gets injured we are then in real trouble. Not sure of the best option but pretty sure George and Alan will be working on it as we type
-
I would love to see Tero back fighting fit. Fingers crossed he gets the all clear soon to resume. Compton sounded like he may have things sorted once the averages change somewhere. Rossen does not look like he is going to kick on and be a heatleader but would make a solid number 2 IMHO As I say fingers crossed Tero gets his knee sorted and is back very soon :-)

Lawson did some extra practise after the meeting and was buying some bits from BB. If Tero is going to be out for a while Rossen would be a good choice, Lawson certainly would do a job at reserve to start with or what was Comptons average ?
