  1. Quite agree re Harris, just hope there's a very loud silence stadium when he's announced, just hope he has a night when he's trying to find the right set up.
  2. I just received an email, probably along with many other people, from East Herts Council that the planning application to turn Rye House into a community leisure and sports hub and also for retrospective removal of the speedway track has today been refused.
  3. Wish I could be there but can't but I'll be watching on TV - come on the Witches - hope my neighbours have earplugs as I do try to recreate the stadium atmosphere in my front room.
  4. I thought that but on looking closer at the groups it looks like they get 3 rides each and then discount the lowest ride hence 4, 2, 5 = 9, 5, 4 1 = 9 etc
  5. So lets hope the rest of the Witches can do their best for him and keep us in with a fighting chance for Thursday, after the brilliant atmosphere last week when we won the KO cup.
  6. Anyone remember the 2022 British Final when it pi$$ed it down? Chris Harris was on 3, 3, 2 and wasn't happy when the meeting was abandoned, Danny King was on 3, 3, 1 (before anyone says anything I know Bewley was on 8 as well). Lets hope Chris can repeat that performance tonight if meeting goes ahead. I'm staying optimistic as I hope all other Witches fans will be.
  7. For goodness sake, yes we're up against it, so what let's all try to send positive vibes not negative ones all the time. If the meeting goes ahead I'll be watching on TV, probably with everything crossed but until the 2nd legs finished I'll keep the faith as I hope all Witches supporters will.
  8. Out of interest who actually carries out the test, is it the medical people in attendance or the referee or an independent person employed solely to do the test. Also how do they choose who to test, anyone know?
  9. Oh yes we do - its all about the points and we got them. Leicester threw it away
  10. If you only watched the last 8 heats sounds like your not very interested then, people go to Cardiff for the whole weekend and meeting other fans and enjoying a bit of banter in all the restaurants and pubs round the city before and after the meeting. Belle Vue might produce better racing but it cant match or come anywhere near Cardiff for the facilities around the town and stadium.
  11. Went last year, track not good but Bewley made my night. Didn't go this year partly because of trains on strike and partly because of funds. I watched on TV and it looked good will be there next year definitely. I do wish people would stop being so negative, things change but life goes on if we love speedway start getting behind it whether its good or bad and perhaps good times may come again with a bit more support verbally.
  12. How did Laguta do ? Oh yes 4 rides 1 point when he finished 3rd in front of our 16 year old guest rider Ashton Boughen. Never mind there's always the next Panthers meeting for Laguta to show his world class riding !!
  13. Emil won't be able to hold Laguta's hand as he'll be half a lap in front of him
  14. Laguta rode at Ipswich for KL on 10th August his scores were 2, (finished behind Emil) FX, R. I don't think Busters done the Panthers any favours, don't forget KL got shot of him.
  15. Last night Plymouth website said meeting postponed further comment to follow. This morning still saying the same - how long does it take for an explanation? Could we be watching another Eastbourne type scenario unfolding? I hope not.
  16. I'm thinking of coming up from London any weather updates would be appreciated as we got a bit wet last week sitting on the terraces in the downpour.
  17. That rumour can be discounted as the owners of Arlington have already said the stadium wont be available for Speedway in the future as the people trying to revive Eastbourne Eagles were informed. Their statement is on the Championship Forum for Eastbourne Eagles on 15th March this year.
  18. How's the weather in Ipswich, its coming over a bit cloudy in London and I can't decide whether to drive up or watch the stream
  19. Wembley does have a roof but most riders have packed up for the winter well before November, if speedway returns to Wembley for a one off it needs to be during the Speedway season. If the UK can have 2 GPs then leave Cardiff in September and give the first GP of the season to Wembley.
  20. Yes it really is that big a deal, if as in this case there is supposedly damage to the pit gate show us some evidence, photos etc instead of asking us to believe the story we've been told which makes we think some promoters think we must all be idiots. If we see evidence fair enough then we'd have nothing to moan about.
  21. I'd be front of the queue for tickets. Speedway back in London even if it is only one meeting would be brilliant and Wembley is accessible by public transport. We had West Ham, Hackney, Wimbledon, Wembley, White City etc and now we have nothing. It makes my blood boil not everyone wants to go to shopping centres or cinemas etc. People moan about the noise of bikes so planners get an easy run to get stadiums get shut down then they build houses next to motorways, I suppose motorways aren't noisy. Back to the point in question "bring speedway back to Wembley" i'll be there.
  22. Just signed, hope this petition can get to 10,000 signatures, or more, its heartbreaking how many clubs are closing down. https://www.change.org/p/save-wolverhampton-speedway?utm_content=cl_sharecopy_36020737_en-GB%3A10&recruited_by_id=5cc79e10-dd33-11ed-9a3a-4bf3bc3917f9&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&utm_term=share_for_starters_page&share_bandit_exp=initial-36020737-en-GB
