  1. Anyone know how Rob Branford picked up his injury the only info on the Rye site says he has a shoulder injury.
  2. Agree with all the Perks comments on here, good luck to him in the future and hope we see him back at Rye sooner rather than later
  3. Bad decision Ellis was doing well and liked by many fans at Rye House. As yet nothing official about this on the Rye website - not a good way to treat supporters either.
  4. I see Chris Harris has been called up for World Cup duty next Saturday, perhaps its's just as well we have no meetings for a few weeks as when we progress to the final , fingers and everything else crossed etc. etc. , sort of joking as a supporter I hope we do well. If the weathers good I may make the trip up to Kings Lynn. I expect Peterborough arent too happy though as he will miss their local derby with Ipswich next Sunday (rules are rules apparently).
  5. Thanks for all the replies. Suppose it sort of makes sense just in case we progress in the World Cup (nearly put WC but it didn't look good ) Hope you get a good guest in his place for Sunday as we (Rye) had to have a 4 point guest for Kennett last week when we were away to Belle Vue due to him riding in an FIM recognised long track meeting (rules are rules apparently) and only managed to get James Serjeant, but plenty of spare tapes organised by Belle Vue in advance , but this guest rider debacle is not doing much for the sport lately.
  6. Can anyone tell me why the Peterborough Telegraph is saying Harris will miss next Sundays Derby against Ipswich because of his GB call up. The GB meeting is on the 1st at Kings Lynn so no long distance travelling involved. Hopefully it's just an error.
  7. Gustix like you I was a bit sceptical but after a bit of searching I found the message on the Rye House fans facebook page, sorry I've tried to copy a link but am not having much success.
  8. If that is the case then it should be down to the riders to look to themselves and decide where their priorities lie for the sake of the sport continuing in this country or more fans may decide not to bother in the future.
  9. If Kennett wasn't doing longtrack at the start of the season surely that makes his absence from Rye meetings even worse he signed to ride for us and that is where his priorities should lie. I appreciate riders need to earn money but if all riders decided a few weeks into a season they would like to ride in longtrack as well as for a speedway team our sport will be in a worse state than it is already. The promoters don't seem to be doing their jobs properly either, contracts need to be clearly written and signed before the season starts so that these situations don't arise.
  10. On Rye website today it says a guest for Kennett was only allowed on the day of the longtrack meeting which is today so they could only have a 4 point championship rider. It therefore appears no consideration is given to travel to and from a meeting abroad so yet again us Speedway fans have to suffer these stupid rules that are ruining our enjoyment of the sport.
  11. I'm a Rye fan and I totally agree with you especially as I saw you had a coach booked to bring fans down. Our last home Saturday meeting was on 20th May, our last home meeting was on Wednesday 14th June which many of us couldn't attend due to work etc and now our next home meeting isn't until July 15th so we're not too happy with our promotion either (sorry for the rant). Hope we can see Coventry back in the league in the future.
  12. I've tried looking up the rules but too much to take in but to me the only similarities are both sports are on bikes and some riders take part in both but the main difference is long track seems to be for individual riding and speedway is mainly done as part of a team. I'm not saying your wrong just trying to get my head around the priority and unfortunately am getting nowhere other than riders missing speedway meetings for longtrack meetings to me just doesn't seem fair to speedway fans who want to see their whole team riding.
  13. I don't know how the rules work regarding meeting clashes for riders who do both speedway and longtrack but perhaps promoters should look at all these points before signing riders because it's this type of occurance that is upsetting many fans, it's bad enough losing a rider because he is doubling up within speedway leagues but to lose him to an event in a different category within motorsport to me is even worse.
  14. I wasn't happy about Chris Harris missing meetings either, although the situation with Ricky Wells is not ideal we knew when we signed him Edinburgh would have first call on him. Eddie has been our captain for a couple of years now and I would have hoped he would put Rye House first and lead the team from the front and not desert them for a meeting abroad.
  15. Never thought I'd be saying this but I'm really unhappy that Eddie has deserted us tonight for a Longtrack meeting abroad rather than leading the team at Belle Vue and as his average has dropped and he never does much at away meetings perhaps he needs to go.
  16. I was going to make the trip to Belle Vue tonight, but glad I didn't now, no disrespect to the guest riders tonight, I knew Ricky wasn't riding but i like to see our full team riding as much as possible even if they lose and i think it's pretty bad that our captain deserts us to take part in a Longtrack meeting abroad.
  17. Eight weeks between our last Saturday night meeting and the next one, with one home meeting on a Wednesday in between against Belle Vue that possibly a lot of regular fans probably couldn't attend due to work etc. What about the Coventry fans who were coming down on Sunday by coach I just hope they don't end up being out of pocket as presumably the coach company required a deposit. What a shambles no wonder us fans are cheesed off. I doubt this challenge match will be rescheduled and if it is will Coventry bother to book a coach and will Rye fans bother to turn up - I doubt it.
  18. Anyone got a link for meeting updates please I can't find one on the usual update board
  19. Your right about Kennet he has no chance especially as he didn't qualify for tonight's final (lol)
  20. They've improved a bit on last year's but still not as good as they were a few years ago. On Saturdays we have an ice cream van so if that's there tonight you could always try that in the heat we have at present. We're just hoping they water the track otherwise it will be fish & chips covered in shale (lol) Hope you enjoy the meeting.
  21. Is Troy Batchelor confirmed for Rye as I cant see it on their website yet?
  22. I'm thinking of buying my tickets online for the meeting Swindon v Rye as they have to be printed out can anyone tell me how soon after purchase my email ticket will arrive? Thanks in advance for any advice
