  1. When he won the meeting for Kings Lynn at Poole he could have been saying to Matt Ford "Look what you've lost I'm the best rider round this track and you got rid of me"
  2. Batchelor appeared to be injured again in heat 15 when guesting for Swindon last Monday so perhaps this time he really has a genuine excuse not to ride.
  3. And yet again Troy Batchelors points tonight for Swindon show just how stupid the rules now are. If a guest rider is needed they should not be riding in a club in the same league. I know this will mean having a rider who is from a lower league and not doubling up but at least there won't be a conflict of interest as has happened tonight at Leicester.
  4. I just hope Rye can do what Poole did last week, keep themselves to themselves, keep out of any controversy, ride the track be it good or bad and pick up a few away points. I was intending to go but after what went on last week I will now follow it on the updates and probably go to Swindon on Thursday. Seems by not addressing this issue properly KL may have shot themselves in the foot as far as fans are concerned by sweeping it under the carpet and hoping it will blow over.
  5. It's fair enough for riders to be asked their opinion of the track if there are problems/weather issues etc but in my opinion it should be down to the Referee to call off a meeting if there are problems. There are 14 riders at each meeting and they could all find different issues relating the track that is not to their individual like/style of riding, you can't please all of the riders all of the time if you try to do that there would be no speedway meetings anywhere. Yes it is a dangerous sport but the riders themselves signed up to it no one forced them so they should accept that it is up to the Officials to run the meeting and it is the riders job to ride. After travelling and paying to see a Speedway meeting that is what most fans want to see.
  6. If a rider does receive a 28 day ban does that stop him riding abroad and in GPs or does it only apply to British League?
  7. Let's hope Ellis doesn't do what Chris Holder did for KL at Poole last week and try to prove a point to MF by getting 13 points. Worse still let's hope I don't forget he's riding for Wolves and start cheering him on instead of Rye😀
  8. Quite agree - Ellis Perks back please Rye Promoters - he was well liked by us fans and he tried hard and improved his average then what do you do - let him go - bonkers.
  9. If when all last nights farce has been looked into (or not) if it turns out Chris Holder was involved in it then I expect KL fans will be glad to send him back to you as his average has certainly dropped while riding for them and it seems obvious he would rather be at Poole, it was Matt Ford that sacked him in the first place and thats why he ended up at KL certainly not through his own choice.
  10. Sorry to hear Rob Branford is now out for the rest of the season but he has been struggling for quite a few weeks now so hopefully we can get someone who can score points for us for the remainder of the season. Home meeting on Saturday (at last). Away next Wednesday at Kings Lynn - perhaps - after last nights debacle will there be a meeting there on Wednesday, if so will many fans bother to turn up, or will the riders even turn up and actually ride? - every cloud has a silver lining we might get a few away points, last comment said in jest before anyone takes me too seriously. As for last night it did nothing for our sport it was a complete farce and I hope if next Wednesdays meeting goes ahead it is a good one for the fans to enjoy and for speedway as a whole. (I know this is a Rye thread, but just had to make a few comments re KL as we meeting them next week)
  11. I agree people shouldn't ride in dangerous conditions but the Referee inspects the track before the meeting and he can look again if called upon to do so, I know he doesn't ride it but he should be experienced enough to make a proper decision if he isn't then he shouldn't be a Referee. I am not disagreeing with your points just making observations. Basically the whole system from top to bottom is not working and if it is not sorted soon we won't have to make comments on this forum because there will be no Speedway meetings left in this Country to comment on.
  12. OMG I've been following the updates and this forum re tonight's meeting and I can honestly say I've never felt so sorry for all Speedway fans as I do tonight, how can the sport I have followed since the late 60's been reduced to this sorry state of affairs. Poole may have gained 4 points tonight but Speedway has been the loser. As for Robert Lambert if fans were shouting comments etc (I have no idea what) that he didn't like he should not have sunk to their level he should have ignored them but maybe that fan/or fans were as upset as I now feel about tonight's farce and were just venting their anger and he was in the firing line. Re the forum in general, for all meetings not just this one, it would be much improved if posts/comments were kept to sensible remarks instead of some people, definitely not all, posters reducing it to a slanging match. Perhaps the moderators should start moderating.
  13. I see from the Rye website that after this Saturday's meeting against Wolves we now only have one more Saturday meeting left which is against Swindon on 5th August as the 29th July against Kings Lynn has been re-arranged to Wednesday 9th August, all the other home meetings are Wednesdays and one on Bank Holiday Monday. I wonder if the crowds will now drop off a bit as most people seems to prefer Saturdays due to work committments etc. during the week. I have looked through both teams fixture lists and cannot see a re-arranged date for the rained off Premiership meeting earlier in the season against Swindon (unless someone on here can pick up where I might have missed the fixture) I wonder why that meeting cannot be slotted into the 29th. http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.1450
  14. Sedgmen didn't ride for Ipswich tonight concussion after last Mondays crash. No update on Rob Branford either.
  15. I know, and Rye let Ellis Perks go who is now guesting for Wolves tonight and I reckon most Rye fans would rather have Ellis than Rob as he has really improved.
  16. Anyone know how Rob Branford picked up his injury the only info on the Rye site says he has a shoulder injury.
  17. Agree with all the Perks comments on here, good luck to him in the future and hope we see him back at Rye sooner rather than later
  18. Bad decision Ellis was doing well and liked by many fans at Rye House. As yet nothing official about this on the Rye website - not a good way to treat supporters either.
  19. I see Chris Harris has been called up for World Cup duty next Saturday, perhaps its's just as well we have no meetings for a few weeks as when we progress to the final , fingers and everything else crossed etc. etc. , sort of joking as a supporter I hope we do well. If the weathers good I may make the trip up to Kings Lynn. I expect Peterborough arent too happy though as he will miss their local derby with Ipswich next Sunday (rules are rules apparently).
  20. Thanks for all the replies. Suppose it sort of makes sense just in case we progress in the World Cup (nearly put WC but it didn't look good ) Hope you get a good guest in his place for Sunday as we (Rye) had to have a 4 point guest for Kennett last week when we were away to Belle Vue due to him riding in an FIM recognised long track meeting (rules are rules apparently) and only managed to get James Serjeant, but plenty of spare tapes organised by Belle Vue in advance , but this guest rider debacle is not doing much for the sport lately.
  21. Can anyone tell me why the Peterborough Telegraph is saying Harris will miss next Sundays Derby against Ipswich because of his GB call up. The GB meeting is on the 1st at Kings Lynn so no long distance travelling involved. Hopefully it's just an error.
  22. Gustix like you I was a bit sceptical but after a bit of searching I found the message on the Rye House fans facebook page, sorry I've tried to copy a link but am not having much success.
  23. If that is the case then it should be down to the riders to look to themselves and decide where their priorities lie for the sake of the sport continuing in this country or more fans may decide not to bother in the future.
  24. If Kennett wasn't doing longtrack at the start of the season surely that makes his absence from Rye meetings even worse he signed to ride for us and that is where his priorities should lie. I appreciate riders need to earn money but if all riders decided a few weeks into a season they would like to ride in longtrack as well as for a speedway team our sport will be in a worse state than it is already. The promoters don't seem to be doing their jobs properly either, contracts need to be clearly written and signed before the season starts so that these situations don't arise.
