  1. It probably will cause quite a few headaches but people now need to sit down urgently and sort out this mess as clubs are suffering and us fans are losing our teams before any more go to the wall.
  2. Exactly right. We don't all do Facebook and the short statement put on there by Steve Jenson last night was probably because they were aware Somerset were putting out news of next weeks postponement. The Facebook statement should have been put on the Rye website for all to see. I sincerely hope the club does not fold and I hope that there are ongoing talks behind the scenes to try to resolve the situation. Perhaps reverting back to Saturday night racing will help because every club has different needs and their Promoters should be able to decide which night will be best for them to run as I see we are not the only club suffering from lower crowds since frn was brought in. If it means no big name riders in the teams, of which there aren't many now anyway, then so be it, I would rather have the same team of committed riders to call "my team" that I can support knowing that win or lose they tried.
  3. Surely now Rye will have to put some sort of statement on their website explaining the situation even if they can't go into full detail yet. Us fans deserve a bit more than having to read statements put out by other clubs telling us our meeting with them is postponed.
  4. The following from Somerset Website. "Somerset Speedway regret to announce that due to pending internal problems at BMR Rye House Rockets, it has been necessary to postpone next weeks meeting at The Oaktree Arena on Weds July 4th.We would like to emphasise that the circumstances are beyond our club's control and apologise to any fans and of course our sponsors for this postponement, but the decision to cancel has been taken early to try and mitigate any inconvenience to our patrons. We hope to be able to accommodate Rye House to the Oaktree later in the season."
  5. And if the race night is the main problem I think Steve Jenson will have lots of backing from the fans to revert back to that race night as many people I speak to find week nights a problem that has stopped them going as often as they would like to. If we can revert back to Saturdays I just hope it's not too late to get back the supporters we have lost this year I do not want to lose another Speedway club that I support.
  6. Twitter says "cancelled" Rye website says "postponed" and posts on this forum I think have probably come up with every senario in the book. The only thing for certain is Rye have a problem and whether talks which must be going on behind the scenes are to sort out legalities of folding or talks to try to save the club before any further announcements are made I feel some of the online speculation is doing nothing to help matters. Yes we all want to know what has or is happening but we will just have to be patient there is no point in the Promoters or the BSPA saying anything until they have something concrete to say - be it good news or bad. Rye's next meeting is supposed to be next Wednesday 4th July at Somerset so I think we should hear some further news by Tuesday.
  7. And Swindon website now saying "postponed" so let's hope that's the case, still no explanation as to why though.
  8. Count down clock has now been altered to show next home meeting 9th July against Kings Lynn lets hope that is a positive sign, still a bit more clarity from the promotion would help.
  9. And the Rye count down clock to next meeting is still counting down so if fans don't notice the 'tweet ' some could still be turning up tomorrow night. What a way to run a business no wonder us fans are getting fed up I just hope this isn't the demise of another club.
  10. My views - One main league of 18/20 teams plus a junior/national league for up and coming riders. Meet each team over 2 legs home and away that will produce more local derbys that fans like to see and give us more chance of attending away fixtures. A Knock out Cup where matches are drawn from a hat up to the final that way Rye wont get Swindon every year. That should make the season from about Easter to September with home meetings probably every week. Let the promoters pick their home race night obviously with alternatives/bank holidays when needed as different areas have different needs. Reduce the gate fee to £10 which hopefully will bring more fans thereby compensating for any loss. As for rider shortage I'll leave someone else to sort that out ☺
  11. Thank you I did manage to speak to ticket office this morning so thats sorted. I asked at the same time if I could take a fold up chair into the South Stand but they weren't sure so if anyone can advise me further it will be appreciated.
  12. I've tried phoning Belle Vue ticket office with no success (piss up in brewery comes to mind) so wondered if anyone can tell me if I purchase tickets online via my mobile for the British Final can I show them for entry on my mobile phone or do they have to be printed out. Also is there seating in the South Stand or is it just standing. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  13. UPDATE April 2018: FreeSports had told users on social media that it now expects FreeSports HD to go live in June 2018.
  14. Well it must be the racing at Rye House thats worth £18 because it certainly isnt the facilities provided for the fans that are
  15. Also if you use R/R and one of your other riders gets injured at the start of the meeting you could be down to 5 as what happened at Ipswich the other night.
  16. We made the trip up from Rye in the hope of a good close meeting and perhaps coming away with a point - what a waste of time. A shambles of a Rye team and as for heat 15 being exciting, well from a Wolves point of view it was from a Rye point of view what a depressing end to the night to see your rider going from first to last but he did get one point - probably because only 3 riders finished the race. As for the programme £2.50 for what was a Wolves v Belle Vue meeting with a Rye House insert, if I'd known that before purchase I could have saved my cash and perhaps donated it to the so called improvements being made to Rye Stadium.
  17. Anyone tell me what time the gates open please and also what's the parking like.
  18. I repeat - " I think it's time to stop apportioning blame, riders got injured, no one wants to see that. What we should be doing is wishing the injured riders a speedy recovery and hope this awful weather that is causing havoc to the sport we love improves so that riders, promoters and referees don't get put in the no win situation they were in last night." Isn't it about time you stopped this silly little wind-up game your trying to play on this forum with others who are unfortunately taking the bait but I can understand why they are.
  19. I think it's time to stop apportioning blame, riders got injured, no one wants to see that. Alan Rossiter has put out a statement on the Swindon website and apparently riders were offered the chance to try out the track by the Clerk of the Course but no one took up the offer. What we should be doing is wishing the injured riders a speedy recovery and hope this awful weather that is causing havoc to the sport we love improves so that riders, promoters and referees don't get put in the no win situation they were in last night.
  20. My thoughts on stadium. PR should start at the beginning ie car park which in my opinion is good enough to use as a motocross track first sight of it is enough to put any nubies off. If you get past that although there are alterations inside stadium from when Len was there I wouldn't call them improvements. From where I sat in the stand on the home straight the view of the 2nd bend was slightly obscured and the mist and rain last night made matters worse. If you have mobility problems and usually watch from near the fence on the flat I think you may have trouble seeing the riders going down the back straight (especially if you have to sit in a chair/wheelchair). The seating that was under the referees box last year has been rebuilt with scaffolding and wooden steps which are definitely not user friendly for people with mobility problems. The ref is now in a porta cabin and hopefully can see all the track. Oh well perhaps thing's will look better when the weather improves, I will go again but am not impressed with "improvements" hopefully the team can make up for that.
  21. Track looks ok hopefully we won't get any rain. Piles of mud on centre green bit of an eye sore as long as it doesn't interfere with the speedway I suppose we will have to live with it but we've moved from our usual seats already.
  22. In the car park, gates not open yet. Weather's damp, cold and a bit misty. Already a queue to go in. A boat in the car park would be preferable to a car hope the tracks in better condition.
  23. Really hope the weather holds up for you and the team think us fans all have everything crossed
