  1. Article from Neil Middleditch in Bournemouth Daily Echo re Rye House. I tend to agree with him about Motorcross mud on the centre green and while I appreciate Warren Scott is a business man I can't help wondering how much the mud pile cost and is that making him a profit as I haven't seen any events advertised for it yet and as a Speedway fan it certainly spoilt my views of the racing. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/16345710.middleditch-saddened-by-rye-house-demise/
  2. Perhaps Bomber should have a word with Scott Nicholls solicitors re being deprived of making a living !
  3. https://www.phoenixfm.com/2018/07/05/lakeside-speedway-jon-cook-speaks/
  4. Obviously the racing won't be league but whatever form it takes us fans need to try to get behind Rye House and try to help them to take the sport forward
  5. As I understand it BMR/Warren Scott is the promoter and bought the lease off Len Silver Steve Jenson is named as co promoter. Depending on how finances are set up it could be that a Bank may be owed money therefore they could take over the assets ie the leasehold. Goodness knows how a this saga is going to end up.
  6. Wonder what will happen to the KTM dealership that's supposedly opened/opening within the stadium?
  7. Agreed. Let's just hope someone has the sense to secure the stadium and that it doesn't end up in the same state as Brandon.
  8. Not the news we wanted we just have to now hope a way is found for Rye to come back next year with racing on Saturday nights in the Championship.
  9. The fish and chips are no longer a selling point. As for the stadium being dilapidated yes it does need major improvement to bring it into the 21st century but so do many other speedway stadiums. What Rye does have (or maybe did) is loyal fans who want to see speedway at Rye and elsewhere survive. To say just "put it out of its misery" is an insult to all of us who loyally support the team and speedway (even though we do have our moans and groans along the way).
  10. Well I think the BSPA all live in fantasy land anyway. If that idea was even being considered it has to be the daftest one they've come up with yet. I think every supporter in the country knows that won't work. If it's considered for next year it would be a good idea.
  11. That crossed my mind a while ago so I googled Motorcross tracks Herts/Essex, loads of tracks listed but no Rye House which is a bit silly if you want to make a profit from something. Regards kart track I believe the same promotion did own it but I don't know if they still do.
  12. Quite agree and if the promoters are hoping to run meetings, however unlikely that's looking, they are not doing themselves any favours with the deafening silence.
  13. It's now Tuesday and the silence from Rye House is deafening. Although now showing on their fixture list as tomorrow's away match at Somerset is off (We all knew that anyway last week Somerset set told us) no official explanation from Rye. Home match on 9th with KL still counting down but are fans going to forego other possible plans just in case the meeting goes ahead? At this rate if the meeting does take place will it be to an empty stadium?
  14. Started reading your post and had a good laugh at myself as first of all I thought you were referring to Rye House - best stadium in league. Anyway been to your Belle Vue Stadium and have to agree with best in league, your mascot is super as well loved watching his antics at the British Final, can we borrow him at Rye please we could do with cheering up at present.
  15. I am one of the "older supporters that someone in an earlier post said that race night changes shouldn't bother. Well actually it does because trying to get round the M25 at rush hours is horrendous so we travel across country from East London, via Epping etc and that's almost as bad, solution go early afternoon and take a picnic. During this weather that's not so bad but most times who wants to sit in their car from 4pm after an hours journey basically in a car park in the middle of nowhere. Saturday the traffic can still be busy but nowhere near as bad as mid week.
  16. I like to see the big names riding but what I want more than anything is a team consisting of the same riders competing weekly and good close racing. I also love watching the youngsters racing (junior championships etc) they seem to really want to be there. At the moment my dream is at Cardiff a big name exceeds the 2 minutes/tapes etc, Dan Bewley gets a ride, flies from the gate and wins the race, I reckon the fans will go wild - I can but dream - anyone like to give the odds on it happening (please don't ruin my day by rubishing my dream)
  17. I must apologise to you I inadvertently linked my comment to the wrong item I was in fact referring to the remarks made by uk_martin not to your reply to him. Sorry again.
  18. In case you mis understood me I was referring to the last paragraph of the post made by uk_martin 2 hours ago not the reply tl it made by The Doctor.
  19. What a totally inappropriate and very stupid comment to make on this Speedway Forum. If moderators are reading I think a comment like this needs removing.
  20. I don't look on it as "switching" I see it as "going back to". Yes it will create problems for this year but if these problems can, with a bit of effort, give and take and goodwill from every quarter, fans included, be sorted out surely that has to be better than losing another team. If that's not possible and the problems are more than just race night then let's hope Rye can come back on a sound footing in 2019. In the mean time will the BSPA please wake up and try to see the trees through the fog.
  21. Quite agree. There are obviously more problems than fans are privy to. I know gates are down at mid week home meetings so finances must be playing a big part in the problems at the moment. I really fear for our existence at present. Many of us fans wanted the club to stay in the Championship, more meetings, more local(ish) derbys, as much as we like seeing big name riders I believe the Championship is where we should be. Better still let the 2 leagues join up, meet each other in the league once at home and away, add in a Knock out Cup with teams drawn from the hat and perhaps a few a individual/local derby cups and you would get racing from Easter to end of September every week, and to encourage younger fans one child under 16 £1 entry with a full paying adult. Rider numbers might be a problem so cut the riders to 6 per team and bring in some youngsters from the National league, as long as team averages can be evenly matched.
  22. Maybe so but frn does appear to be affecting other clubs including Rye House, it may not be the whole problem Rye have at the moment but it certainly is doing more harm than good for us.
  23. And Belle Vue also had to change their race night and their crowds are down as well.
  24. Not sure if this is correct but I am under the impression Rye promotion did not get a vote at the last AGM as they had not been promoters for a certain amount of time. If that is the case it's bl..dy ridiculous. If people are "officially" promoting/running a club they should have a vote at all decision making meetings. If anyone can enlighten me further on this please feel free to do so.
