Maybe I'm being a little naïve but I assumed that there would be more to being a speedway rider than "how much I can earn, for how little I have to ride".
Surely there are a few that actually enjoy racing and would like to do as much as they can within reason.
The window cleaner analogy shouldn't completely apply.
The track was on the outskirts of Nanpean which is a few miles north east of St Austell. I went a few times before moving to Cornwall. Great racing on a 220 metre (if I remember correctly) track.
I also remember seeing Kyllingstad scoring his maximum. I think it was only his 2nd appearance at Blunsdon and I'm sure it was on a Sunday afternoon as part of a double header.
RIP Alan. I always enjoyed reading his enthusiastic and humorous posts when watching streams.
I can only agree with others that he came across as an extremely likeable chap.
