Scotland's B Team Vs Scotland's A Team
GS550 replied to kermitfrog's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's more relevant when its a straight league and no play offs to decide the title and away wins are independent matches and any away points not dependent upon the aggregate of home/away as it is in a cup comp, but I was referring to the end of season cup competition that the "league" title is reduced to when its a play-offs system whereby there are no 'away' points as such and winning is dependent upon the overall aggregate thus making home advantage key, as I said.... "gives them a skewed advantage in the home//away return leg playoffs" the relevant word being "home". -

I wouldn't go that far, on their trick track with a thousand percent home advantage and bends that (momentarily) have riders almost coming to a virtual standstill at their apex (totally weird track!!) its a totally different world, one of fantasy that they are somehow better than everybody else ( they aint!!), not to mention a stadium that is a complete dump. Apart from that the place is great. A trick track that gives them a skewed advantage in the home//away return leg playoffs and a false air of superiority and unfair advantage, its a mad mad world alright, one skewed massively in favour of "The Dumpers" for the league crown as has proven to be the case in recent seasons. -
Ipswich Witches Vs Glasgow Tigers Thurs 4th May C1

Thanks for the clarification. Ipswich are a good team no question, didn't appreciate Hume had been top scoring. -

You have a point there, Danny is a top rider fer sure. Only 40 years? Machinery aint just about money, as you'll know you also need a rider that can use it, look what Bridger did on Liam Carr's bike the other week, Carr wasn't doing much with it and reportedly Bridger's performance transformed showing real speed and winning heats on it which Liam hadn't been on the same bike so it aint as simple as throwing money at the equipment, you need a pilot on board that can use it. -

Take guest James Shanes scoring out though and it would been an away win. Not to mention Worrall's puncture/retirement from Heat 13 whilst on a 5-1. You say a three man team but you overlook that the fourth average rider was out injured. Glasgow still got an away point though and in a league that's more about an end of season knock out cup comp its more about improving riders that come good later in the season: Glasgow's team is set up for that kind of format with 3 established riders and 4 that are young and on the rise including Nike Lunna and Dan Bewley. You mention about money, but money has limited effect when there's a points limit. It aint like football, if Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, etc, were limited to the grades of player they could sign/field, limited to the same as the likes of Crystal Palace, then the Premiership would probably have a very different look about it. It aint all about money when there's a points limit to work to as we have in speedway. -

No. You publicly referred to and discussed the content of a Personal Message - that is shameful and disgraceful conduct on your part. -

Away Points Won Less Home Points Dropped

Events chronicled yes, but the teams do not "play a match" Football teams "play" with a ball, so it is correct to say that games are "played". By contrast speedway riders do not "play" with a ball or anything else, nor is it a "game", they race against each other and "matches" or speedway "meetings" take place. I guess that's why the BSPA show league tables with the first column "M" for number of Matches. Still, if you're happy with it then fine. -

Looking forward to seeing Berwick's minus value probably reduce (or at least not increase) given the team changes, Bridger on change of machinery and going as he is capable of, along with Morris, looks like forming a strong top two, plus the other tweaks and Carr potentially dropping back to reserve -
Fer heavens sake man do you never let up, always a comeback full of garbage. I only mentioned the admission price, and in any case it was qualified, the magic words after "cheap as chips" being "AS.... FAR.... AS..... I'M..... CONCERNED". So stop trying to always tell me and dictate to me that I don't have a view when I do, especially when its qualified anyway that you tend to conveniently overlook, wise up fer heavens sakes man. Maybe you only pay 50 pence for a round of drinks, last couple of rounds I bought I got some change from thirty or forty quid each time so anywhere in the teens for a bleedin speedway match is nuthin, a bit like your comebacks.
-
Absolute nonsense, speedway admission prices have been in the teens (in pounds sterling) for what seems like forever, its the 21st century. I used to be able to buy a round for a tenner, the other week I got some change back from forty quid. Glasgow's standard admission price is £17.50, cheap as chips as far as I'm concerned, you need to get out more.

Berwick V Scunthorpe Championship 22/4/17@7-00pm
GS550 replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Probably a bit of truth in both views, agree about the ability of the rider to use it correctly but also each individual rider setting up the bike to suit their own riding style not to mention their own physique, posture etc.
