  1. You forget that England is only one of four countries that make up the UK. So why not give Wales one, Scotland one, etc. Agree about the national stadium and should be used for big events. As far as the GP's are concerned can't see any need for other than the current Cardiff arrangement within the UK. As you'll be aware, there's political/financial clout reasons why certain other countries have more than one grand prix. Assume accidental that you "liked" your own post!
  2. I've a cracking team shortlist, only trouble is it would probably need an 80 point limit
  3. There are a lot of bums in speedway, I should know I'm one of them
  4. Seems elevation or lack of it is an issue. Maybe they need to relocate the ref's box to a newly built crow's nest type arrangement?
  5. Good to see the two best teams this season in the final and the result in line with the league positions (sorry Ippo, if it had been the other way round I'd have said the same, I've just never been in favour of the playoffs system). Congrats to Sheffield, well deserved. And commiserations to the Witches, well deserved runners up.
  6. As somebody that doesn't believe in the playoffs system, I personally feel that the team that finishes top of the league are the champions, so as far as I'm concerned Sheffield won it fair and square and the Witches deserved runners up. That said, if there has to be a play-off then the two best teams in the league are in it and it would be no mean feat either if Ipswich pulled it off. So best of luck to everybody, hope its a cracking meeting worthy of the occasion and no injuries.
  7. Just confused tbh, two intelligent beings and all. Although hold on much of my crap is probably less coherent.
  8. Better than that it was a joke by the original poster who actually said.... "Anyway after the first leg we could have brought Greg Hancock in and it still wouldn't have made any difference." Substitute any others as takes your fancy: "Anyway after the first leg we could have brought Cristiano Ronaldo in and it still wouldn't have made any difference." "Anyway after the first leg we could have brought Santa Claus in and it still wouldn't have made any difference." "Anyway after the first leg we could have brought Spider Man in and it still wouldn't have made any difference." "Anyway after the first leg we could have brought Lewis Hamilton in and it still wouldn't have made any difference." Sorry, appreciate that Lewis Hamilton is otherwise engaged at the minute so scrub the last one.
  9. In saying if Glasgow had brought in Greg Hancock "it still wouldn't have made any difference" the poster did of course mean hypothetically not literally, lol
  10. Good heavens. You can now add 'red faced' You're too kind. That's better. You want to hear what the wife calls me.
  11. Haha. Didn't think of that. But hey, the individual concerned did show angst towards others on this forum and admitted as much by claiming to "justify" that display of venom towards others on this forum due to having witnessed a rider's irresponsible actions. Well, no, not having it and it applies to us all - there is NO excuse for that kind of behaviour, none at all, doesn't matter who it is, and all the more pathetic for the individual to then claim that somehow its ok or "justified" when it simply aint and any decent person would hold their hand up and apologise. I guess it reflects on the calibre of the individual that they did not have the decency to do so. Well, not on this occasion anyways. A wine gum anybody.
  12. No it was actually your offensive behaviour. So, when somebody else behaves disgracefully your solution is to also behave disgracefully?
  13. Indeed, I recognised that, however you did suggest it as if in mitigation. You mention about provocation, in this case it appears a rider has had a bit of 'handbags' at the track, that's surely no reason for others to become hot headed. Ironically it is posts such as post #34 that is itself provocative. Great races - agreed it appears it was a good close match and congrats to the Comets again on the win. And best wishes for next season.
  14. So you're saying two wrongs make a right. No, sorry, there is NO excuse for childish and immature behaviour regardless of who it is by. As regards the meeting, appears it was a close meeting indeed a 'brilliant' one, and well done to the Comets.
  15. You've obviously never heard of being gracious in victory. You mention childish behaviour. I find your ungracious post to be childish and immature, and your closing quip purely spiteful and again childish and immature. Personally I thought Workington did well.
  16. Not "baffling" at all. I offered a balanced view i.e. taking the pros and cons rather than a one sided jibe at the guy. His point was that Glasgow's reserves were not that strong to begin with which is a fair point (my qualifications to that point aside). That there is also another way of looking at it i.e. that the guests they replace are significantly weaker is also a fair point. To see both points is just a balanced view nowt else.
  17. A bit harsh? A decent enough point he made that Glasgow's reserves maybe weren't the strongest to begin with although as SR pointed out the replacements appear to be considerably weaker. I guess its all relative. I'd also qualify that although Jack is young and inexperienced as time goes on he is improving and will continue to improve, therefore being that bit stronger towards the end of the season than the start of the season.
  18. It does seem quite petty though and a bit unprofessional, you would think they should just have shaken hands and got on with the job.
  19. Having r/r at 5 is a bit like at the old 3 race jacket under the old 16 heat formula, sort of. Ok you're right it is radical.
