Terrible meeting for the Bandits, totally outclassed by the 3 Elite riders, pick of Berwick Jorgensson. The new Pole was utter crap and the Austrian not much better. Think Peterborough might do the same next week -

Well Taffy I made my return to Shielfield last night, taking your advice to give it another chance, WHERE THE SHI*TE WERE YOU?. I enjoyed the meeting, although I think the track was as bad as it has been in the past, obviously some people never learn, could be so much better with a better track curator. I must say, it was a healthier crowd than in previous seasons, but very hard to work out for viability as 'kids go free', my guess about 600 paying adults and 200 kids for free. I wonder if that is really a sustainable crowd, would have thought 750 plus kids is a break even crowd. A good nights entertainment though -

I presume you are a friend of the other fellow, you can't all be this childish up in the Berwick area. -

Damn, I came on here to find out more about the new rider, now I find the same person being as childish as on the Berwick thread, are you going to mark my grammar as well. I find the Screm posts generally quite informative also helpful, it does appear that a certain BigeddIecheck has a personal problem with the said Screm. -
Are you for real, this is seriously child like behaviour, my children don't behave like this and they are 12 and 14.

I stopped going to Berwick I go to Newcastle instead, my kids loved going to Berwick for speedway, they have quickly forgotten and settled into Brough Park.. My opinion only, Berwick Bandits are a) badly managed. . Very badly promoted. c) track preparation very poor. d) The centre green presenter is well past his sell buy date. Berwick fans are a really great bunch of people, probably the nicest enthusiastic fans in British speedway, they really deserve better than they are being served up at Berwick every Saturday. I was convinced to attend Berwick Speedway by a die hard fan who is constantly lambasted on this forum for his views. Not once did he ever knock the club, just extolled how good speedway is and that my kids would love it, they do, just no longer at Berwick. -

You need to read your post. Remember staying at Rockys in West St, through him met Taffy, who convinced me to come to speedway, he said my kids would love it. The kids do love it, and I am stuck with it, It costs me about £70 every Sat, it really is not value for what I pay, but as Taffy said my kids would love it and they do. -
I certainly will think twice about coming, if after no speedway for 3 weeks, the team runs on rider replacement. I want to see 7 riders if I am going to pay £15.

Surely nobody is suggesting he shouldn't,t be in the team, people are questioning the problems he is having. The promotion as usual over hyped Ben Barker, and due to many reasons, injury, financial, equipment etc., he has not risen to the standards hoped of him. There are on this forum several posters over egging his achievement this season, in reality he has fallen well short of expectations so far. I am certain as and when he gets his finances in order, it will pay dividends, he can then afford to upgrade the poor equipment he is buying from Berwick promotion. -

I know Taffy likes Czech riders, but surely he has a point about Kracma and Holub, both competent riders on good equipment, both scoring quite well on the Continent. Both capable of increasing their starting average of 7, from what I have heard not that expensive compared to some of Berwicks team -
What's the beef with Taffy, he's always been complimentary about speedway in Berwick, he's the reason I returned to speedway, now I am stuck with it because the kids love it. When I have heard him having a moan, it's usually for a damn good reason, like when Edberg and Barret were injured because of a badly prepared track... I take it someone doesn't like criticism.
-
Are track records important, I find it tedious if a rider is half a lap ahead of the rest, prefer closer racing with skill, than a sprint
-
Quite impressed with the first rider after the meeting, looked very smooth, Carr I think his name
-
Where I sit nobody moans, although some of them are accused on here as moaners, they do air their views, and and in nearly all cases have good grounds for criticism. In every case they would like better speedway, but take the rough with the smooth. If it were not for the kids, I doubt that I would be that loyal.
-
Why was there no parade on sat, the kids would like to see the riders on a practice lap, like at some other tracks.
-
I enjoyed the meeting last night, track was better, but miles off being classed as good. After the last meeting I nearly did not attend, kids can be very demanding. Just a suggestion, an improvement in the catering would be an idea, we threw most of it into the bin, had to stop at the chip shop down the road on way home, the kids were starving, I must say that is a good chip shop.

What time is start

Looking forward to this one, things have evened out due to the various commitments. Just hope the track is prepared better than last week, looked pretty dangerous.

What about Ben Barker ?
