  1. Eastbourne had practice tonight making sure they are in shape for Friday. Well done to Eastbourne for getting as much track time as possible.
  2. Just seen it on Twitter about Eastbourne off to sign another rider at practice tonight? mid week practice they must really be pushing out the team to make it work? Strange but wonder who it is?
  3. I agree with Waco, it was hard to hear even with a small amount of people where making a lot of noise, Danny Vergil's girlfriend was asking most of the questions as she was a local lady from Scunthorpe and was telling us all how it was ment to be done and how they did it at Scunthorpe? I don’t think she understood that it was not her money going down the drain and its not Easy to get people interested in speedway when you cant even name a full team on press day. Kent need to move forward like Eastbourne, Media that’s Free, Facebook Twitter, Instagram, and don’t play the kids against each other, I felt sorry for the 6th, 7th, 8th rider no knowing who was going into the team. After reading Robs comments he is right and It really does make you wonder what sort of management is going on playing the kids against each other it may have worked in the 60's. Why not pick your reserve riders Let them get set up for the start of the season and run them till the first averages then make a change. I think its wrong to run them on the day and race against each other then choose? That’s old school (again) Also it stops the riders who might want to move to another track, also it leaves needs no preparation for the riders. What happened if they were unable to ride because of the weather? it was very Unfair on Jamie, Adam, Matt. letting them wait all winter to get an answer. On the other hand Len covered his backside and made sure he had 3 signatures for the riders ment that nobody else could use 3 riders keeping them hanging on till the last minute. Why not do what Eastbourne did pick someone and run with them George wood and so on. You cant get publicity on a team that not complete until press day? . 4 days before there first meeting and you want peole to be interested in local kids. Yes Eastbourne has pushed thier team and you can see just by how many people have read this forum on the Eastbourne page means its has some interest in the Club means that the media is working. I Wish Jamie and Adam all the best for the season and hope that Matt has a speedy recovery with his broken wrist
  4. Well i looked at the comment from Connor and to be honset looking at the photos a good 50 people were there mainly riders and family, When Eastbourne had there press day they had approx 500 people 200 hundred of them were companies and the other 200 were fans and 100 were riders and family. This means that its working for Eastbourne also they have a good team, so going on what connor put up was a low attendance for a press day as your ment to launch the club and i have to say i wont be going to Kent anymore unless Eastbourne are there? Eastbourne still have the Elite League feeling but place, its had a big Tidy up during the winter and starting to look young again, can this League take that at this level or will they all have to step up to Eastbournes Level. Len Silver was telling everyone that pass the word on about Kent Speedway and we are the voice of the people, nice one Len " you got it wrong" same as Bob Dugard all those years ago, The voice of speedway is the internet media, such as face book, forums and twitter, Reaches more speedway fans and public then word and mouth now adays also a local news paper cant match the internet, You have to say the way that Eastbourne have pushed it this winter has certainly got the feeling of it again, Bring Back the crowds to Eastbourne. Well done to all involved and i wish them all the Best.
  5. wouldnt be good to let the real little kids have a ride before the start of the meeting, the Thompson Twins do it at Coventry beofre the meeting also at Lakeside and Kent they go round before the meeting, Wonder now bob is not in charge if the kids get to have a ride on his lovely track before it all happens. Cant wait to see the show / Meeting, Maybe they will go the all the way and put up a decent programme for this year rumours have it that young blood has pushed it hard but we will see. Go Eastbourne
  6. I hope that he is not on the tractor, well maybe he can just do a little bit of track prep, His knowledge he has for track prep is outstanding but i hate the long meetings, with this league they already have enough races stopped because of crashes and so on, add more time on the tractor i be upset, I want a slick fast meeting with the good old fashioned second half and bring the kids along for the future. Also i see on twitter that Eastbourne are giving away 100 Easter Eggs for the first 100 kids, well done to them for thinking about the future of the younger crowd. Good news is that they will have all the Harley Davidsons bikes there, My kids will love that looking at the Harley bikes with chocolate on thier hands forward adds to all the excitment, I think that the club have done an outstanding job to get the speedway back on the map in sussex.
  7. Bob Dugard won't be doing the track as we were told last year. You may see bobs input but not the track effort as before. Also a full second half with kids have been talked about so it needs to run as fast as possible. But let's see if all is true come Friday.
  8. The problem with Eastbourne was that it never moved with the Times thats why i left i went to Lakeside followed John Cook then moved to Kent as Lakeside was boring to watch, Eastbourne stayed still for too many years and it was same team, same old faces, same music, and just the same old same old rubbish. I am looking forward to Friday, I no it will take a bit of time to get the amostphere up but i am 100% sure it will be alive and kicking this weekend.
  9. I love the way that the Eastbourne Club have opened up the doors to everyone, I have started to follow some of the Eastbourne team on Twitter @martindugard23 and @connordugard just to see how things are going more to see if this is all a screen to cover up something that we have seen in the past. I am amazed with whats been going on in twitter how many hours that the Dugards are putting into the sport just to make it work at Eastbourne, Workshop photos all the hard work that we have never seen before, it looks like late nights and early mornings for everyone in the Dugard house. Martins wife must have wondered whats happened to her place bikes and 100s of people, There seems to more bikes in the workshop then the Ace Café motorcycle run from London to Brighton. Hats of to them and I can see that they are going to make it work. I used to go to Kent and now I have turned away and gone to Eastbourne just because of the good feeling they have given off this winter. Also I have just seen the Bet that’s going on between then with Martin Dugard / Connor Dugard and Mr IT First the club sponsor. They have got a lot of people watching what they are doing and the coverage in the local paper this morning was pretty good too. Speedway in this Area has not been so alive for the last 20 years, So i am going to bring my mate along just to show support of the first meeting. Come on everyone lets back a speedway team this Holiday.
  10. Must get you a drink Alex when i see you at the first meeting, bottoms up lets party with the crowd on our first meeting together.
  11. Rocket Ben I think your negativity towards Eastbourne is really starting to show. But if we just use facts so that you are not upset it will prove your wrong. Eastbourne being a Trick Track!? Have a look at and aerial view (that’s from above) https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/East+Sussex+BN27+3RE/@50.8575106,0.2282923,297m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x47df6fcd40e00d97:0xece4f7892363a351 then click that satalite view. Fact 1: This clearly shows that the track is obscure shape (not a standard race track shape) this means that it is difficult to ride let alone race. Fact 2: From the start the white line has been cut away in 1988 to make more room to the first turn, then coming out the first turn the curb was cut away to make more room to allow for any errors that may happen. Fact 3: Tai Woffenden had the same problem last year at Eastbourne where he picked up drive and hit the safety fence not beacuse its and easy track to race because its a Trick Track. Many others have fallen fowl ( ) of the Eagles nest with the shape of the track and the speed for something thats small. I think no more said about the track. As for the team suits I think they look great maybe you better have a look at Mildenhall and other clubs just to see how nice Eastbourne suits are. But again you have made your point and you dislike them, I really like them they look great but its a personal choice but i have not gone on an open forum and shouted about them. Personally it does not make them wrong or right? the fact that your being negative again means either your upset with the way the club is being run or your jealous of the club and the way its going forward. Its a new Era at Eastbourne and thanks to Martin and Connor saving speedway at Eastbourne, i think you should look at a bigger picture. Speedway is still there and its looks as if its going to be pushed as hard as it can and there is nothing wrong with that as its about time that the biggest kept secret of speedway in sussex is alive and kicking. Careful not to knock something that you possibly could not do any better to design a suit or run a speedway club or maybe you can. lets put it to a challege as I have a bet on with Ceglio about the open fixture, Why not come along and have a chat with us at Eastbourne. Bring your excitement can so you can take some of the excitment away with you to open up in your front room and see the light. From what we was shown on Press day and the drive of the new sponsors that Eastbourne will be the friendly club that all the kids want to join and race for a bit like the Elite League when all the riders wand to go to Poole. Come on Eastbourne IT First all the way 2015
  12. Having seen what i did on press day i also have been told some times by my mate, Warwick, Owen, BWD, Andrews were all very similar times, Mason was off the pace, Dugard and Wood were as good as Mason. But means nothing if you can’t get out the start. I am looking at the positive side of it all, We are lucky we have Speedway in Sussex I think now that Martin Dugard has been let free to do what he can with the sport at Eastbourne its started to Buzz again as it did in 85, 86, 87, also I think the team is going to give a very entertaining speedway meeting, a home meeting will be easier as there is not many that will like a grippy small track, away form will be better than the Elite League but again that won’t be hard to follow. As it shows there are lots of people out to knock Eastbourne and see them drop like a stone, Eastbourne are not the best loved club in the leagues but at least we have a local speedway track for the time being, Hats of to Team Dugard (Not Bob ) as he is not involved with this project, Bob Showed up on Friday at press day him and Martin had a chat in the pits then he watched a few go round then he left. ( Not the Bob we no he didnt get involved or drive the tractor) But good to see he is letting go and have to say for a better future for the club. Tea Boy your 100% right you have hit it all with Facts, yes Martin and Connor have done a good so far to promote the club again, the advantage is the practice they have done at home already but i guess thats what happens when you run a club and want to win not letting anyone else use the track, I think thats pretty fair. I am lookiing forward to the start of a new era and seeing how they are going to do, i think just on what they have done so far looks great, I love the suits with the eagle on the back and the feathers on the arms, We all can see that a little bit more passion has gone into the club.
  13. Personally I think they have a good team. Not the best but I can see some fire in the belly of the team. Owen and Wilson dean will make it a good challange for most away track they come too when Warwick and andrews will back them up. Mason Dugard wood will all score a little. They all started at under 36 points. Good luck to them all. Big forum or Little forum it's an open forum.
  14. I think after the first load of averages will see where Eastbourne are going either uphill or downhill but I can see it all being up up up, Seeing what we were invited too at Press day there is a lot to give on the Track as well as off the Track, The Management as we have seen are a bit green (Brenden) but again a happy team is a productive team and will go on to be a winning team, Owen & Wilson-dean will be in the pairs for sure. The new sponsor will bring the best of the management and show them how a professional business should be run. All I can say is that Eastbourne are in the right league for enjoyment of speedway and possibly the best excitement and racing. Lets start the season with a bang.
  15. Hi all just to put my 10 pence worth in it all as normal, I was at the Rico meeting and i watched the pairs meeting with interest as i think this is the future of speeedway, Marc Owen was outstanding he was a class above the rest perfect starts and super smooth, looking and Danno Virgil he was ment to be the best thing since landing from his Trip down under where he rode and i was deeply dissapointed with his performance he lacked passion and drive and i thought to myself thats why i have left kent as the team they have put together is going stale. At Eastbourne press day Marc was equal to the other Top 4 , Owen, Warrwick, Wilson-dean, Andrews, not a lot to choose between them all, If this is the standard that Marc has set then he and the others are a strong side all the way from top to bottom, Yes Mason didnt sound as if he was going fast but it would have taken alot to go around him sounding slow but putting power to the floor means he is going forward. Dugard, Wood looked as if they are the strongest pair in the League, so it looks as if Magic Mason need to pull a rabbit out of somewhere to stay out the reserve bay.
  16. Love the Eastbourne suits, Great artwork put into place, Love Tom Brennan suit and the way he was racing around with Richard Andrews. I got to talk to all the riders, it was the best day Eastbourne Club have ever put on Well done to them all, Shame about me missing out on a ride with the Pitbikes but i have been told that they are going to do it again. Cant wait to see the start of the Season, Home win by 15 points
  17. Nobody seems to grasp its a net work meeting where big companies meet up during work time as no top director etc would give their weekend up after a hard weeks worth, to give up their weekend for a new experience. Possibly that's where Eastbourne have gone wrong in the past, to make it a fans day and the fans didn't appear on race nights

  19. I was at Eastbourne today it was buzzing. Great set up too. I think if you was there greyhound you would see that a big headed journey man like Brendon would have lowered the tone. Who cares you have to let it go. I was a Kent fan but now moving to Easrbourne. The riders were pleased to talk to us. We watched the old bikes go round too with Nathan Ablitt and Tom Brennan also Sam Stead. I have been to many press days and this is the best one ever. 100's of people there too.
  20. My mate let it slip who the new sponsor is I dont want to upset the sponsor or take away the glory. Well done to the Eastbourne club. An Elite league sponsor size in the national league. This will bring up the standard.
  21. Just followed all the Links and came across Bradley fund rasing page, only 39% for a kid to chace a dream like that, I am sure we can all help him with a little bit more, Last week was Red Nose day this week its help brad day.. hands in the deep pockets everyone. i cant wait to see him ride. https://givealittle.co.nz/project/bradleywilsondean
  22. This made me laugh, the Bradley kid has travelled half way around the world I would think about 24 to 30 hours on planes and looks as fresh as a daisy, Connor Dugard has travelled from Eastbourne to Heathrow early hours and looks all washed out, maybe it was the worry that Bradley wasn’t going to make it through the UK customs door? I have to say he is a bit of alright, and even better I have just found him on twitter, will have to give him a tweet or even a treat lol. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28474 @@BradWilsonDean
  23. I didnt even think he will arrive with all the visa problems, Good Job to all the people at Eastbouirne Speedway i will be going to press day just to see how good this kid is also to see how this networking is going to happen, All we need to find out is who is the new sponsor? I have a feeling its something to do with Fatboy Slim or something to do with a music band?
  24. I looked on the web page lol , then i rang my mate who then rang a friend of a friend who then waited to hear whats going on to return it to me. Took a few hours to get the info as her son is going to ride the 125cc during the press day. so all good for her.
