Kent V Eastbourne, Easter Monday 6th April
catinthehat replied to stevec's topic in National League Speedway
Brendan mouthed off to me and my family when i was at Milldenhall last year then he went on to have a melt down in the pits, I live closer to Eastbourne then Kent but I love NL speedway, So when BJ was in Eastbourne colors i would have stayed at Kent, But as he was Removed as you said by Eastbourne's incompetence which i agree was the perfect time for me to move. -
Looks to be a perfect weekend for Eastbourne to have a Sunday in the Sun is great i can wait, Hope the meeting will be run as fast as the last one and looking forward to the second half, I have been told that the programme every week will change, they will end up as a collectors set at the end of the year and be worth some money in the years to come. And a great job the new programme company is doing as that what has changed in the place. Looking forward to Sundays meetings. Richard Andrews to win.

Just been on the Kent Web page to see what sort of meeting they have put on compaired to what Eastbourne have on as they both were due to the run the American Team, I know where my money is going to go with this line up what a load of rubbish, Len has just put on a meeting to rob US, compare that to the meeting that Eastbourne have put on, at least Eastbourne are trying to make it a good meeting with most of them are able to have a good chance to win. Pairs line up: Kent SLYDE Kings: Ben Morley & Adam Sheppard (out right winners) Crayford Kestrels: Harvie Banks & Danno Verge (mid to bottom end) Crayford Highwaymen: Danny Ayres & Brendan Johnson (2nd) Crusaders: Aaron Baseby & Dan Berwick (mid table) Bombers: Darryl Ritchings & Jamie Couzins (mid table) Romney Falcons: James Shanes & Sam Chapman (3rd) this is the riders at Eastbourne and i think this is the riding order. Georgie Wood David Mason Aaron Baseby Danny Ayres Sam Darroch Richard Andrews Kelsey Dugard Danny Warwick Tyler Govier Charley Powell Nick Laurence Adam Sheppard Marc Owen Niall Strudwick Bradley Wilson-Dean Dawid Wiwatowski Res 17 Sam Heath I be at Eastbourne 100% Warrwick will be in the top 4 i am sure of that.

I think Danny will sort himself out just needs time maybe he can borrow Masons bikes as it dont look like he is ever going to ride them

I have just been on the Eastbourne web site to see what the racing numbers where for sunday and i was shocked by this, Eastboune have put there complete programme on the internet from the good friday meeting. what a great idea means we can all read the content, must be the first club to do this and what a great read it is. well done Eastbourne. http://www.eastbourneeagles.co/programmes15

They did that a few years ago with speedway bikes on a stock car day made no difference at all. All it did was make it dusty for the stock car people. if i recall it was dean standing and gary tagg

Niall is a strong number 8 but no match for the top team at the moment, If the new kid has his gateting gloves on he could be a winner, happy to put some money on with you solo who is going to win. Charlie Powell the new signing will be interested in him see how he is compaired to Niall? pressure is on now.

Cradley V Coventry (nl) - Weds 08/04 - 7:30pm
catinthehat replied to ellioth4's topic in National League Speedway
I think it will be a 3 point win for Coventry, Greeves was not going at his best but they cant afford to loose someone who as good as he can be on the night, A close match and away win for coventry or a Draw. -
Any body brave enough to call the winner of the Championship of sussex? I am going for Richard Andrews, Ayres, Owen. Think Brads going to have a off day as he has looked far too good at the moment, just one bad start and the Kiwi is out of the top 3. Andrews looks to be a starter and had the fastest time of the day at Kent on Monday. go Richard.

Thinking about it where are they going to store 50 tyres thats a lot of rubber, needs to have a big area as we all no you can only get 10 in a car LOL.

I think its fair to say that Eastbourne were not happy at one point they didnt even think they were going to get 3 tyres, at the end of the day it didnt really matter as the better side won, Well done Eastbourne, its not like the old Eastbourne where Bob would have walked the whole team out like the good old days, controlled and relaxed were the Eastbourne management so it didnt upset the team, at one point Martin had taken Bradleys tyre on and off 3 times. one off when they arrived then put it back on then pumped it up, Then off again when Dave arrived then a new tyre on, Maybe he could get a job at Kwik Fit. If it was the other way around Kent would have not been a happy team. Oh well lets move on to the next meeting -
Maybe mistaken but thats what i believe , but hats of to the young Dugard Martin and Connor still pushing speedway forward..andi have took on board what you have said

James Looked great but like you said he could be a danger if he learnt how to start, the problem is with James that the track needs to be grippy for his style to work at its best, he was able to pass riders at Eastbourne because there was a dirt line, at kent as soon as the dirt line had gone his performace went down hill, i hope that someone will help the young lad as he will need it when the summer comes and the tracks get dryer and more slick. I bet James will go well round Kings Lynn.

just seen today that on @martindugard23 on Twitter that he is off to get 50 tyres why not make it 53 and give 3 to the Kent team

I was a Kent Fan but after a transfer I moved to Eastbourne during the Winter, I have always said that the Kent fans were always nice and always pleasant towards the away teams, I don’t think this will change, Connor and Martin were caught with the tyre gate situation, but just imagine if all the riders were on them for Eastbourne, Possible another 5 points but there you go I don’t think the boys will be caught in the future. Rules are the track many must carry 3 tyres as a Max nothing to do with how many as Kent had as the spares man may have only brought 3 in total so it could have been 3 tyres between all 10 riders. It Just shows that Len could have been up to ticks making the spares man at Rye House and Kent make sure there was not enough tyres to go round to both teams, Well as it proved in the end that your not going to stop a good team even on used tyres. -
I think maybe lets get this year out the way as we have only had 2 meetings lol
-
The people that go to stock cars are a different breed of people that go to speedway there is not many that do both if you no what i mean. Lakeside stock cars run and the place is packed same as Eastbourne but Eastbourne crowds drop every week day meetings on a wednesday.
-
no no no lol, Gustix i do feel as if you are upset xxxxx, The staduim is only allowed to have 4000 people as per health and saftey rules, for Stock Cars but that is enough, I have been there many times for Stock Cars and i have to say its a big crowd,
-
Maybe with Bradley, Simon G, Cam Woodward, and Bridger, and 3 others we could go in next year at PL level? and run NL?
-
Hi gustix not sure why your asking about Stock Car Racing on a speedway forum site or are you bitter that not only is speedway at Eastbourne is starting to turn its self around you going to have a pop at Stock car racing at Eastbourne. As i said before this is my thoughts: The only reason I think is this way back just after the war nearly everyone had a motor bike as it was affordable so families can relate to motor bike racing the crowds were bigger. Now nearly everyone has a car and can relate to car racing. So hence the fact they watch stock cars. How many of your friends have a motor bike compared to a car. Thats why all around the Uk that most of the speedway Track hold Stock car racing to make it Pay with the Stadium owners, People love sport that can relate too, Cars and familys are put together a stock car they all get involved with. Bikes are mostly a thing of the past and hard to relate to. Football everyone can play football two jumpers as a goal and run around all ages in a playing area. why are we talking about Stock car racing when Eastbourne Speedway are starting to put them self on the map again, Gusix have you swallowed a bitter pill I think Marc Owen will have a pop at the Championship of sussex and your dark horse will be Richard, George, Kelsey. Brad will be there abouts but he needs to pop out the start, I was dissapointed that Trevor Geer gave Dan Greenwood (why not give Richard a extra ride to earn money) in heat 15 after they had already won, then he made brad go off gate four a graveyard gate? no wonder Eastbourne never did anything in the past with Trevor Hope Glen Martin is going to be more up to speed.

Hi Alex there was nobody racing on Saturday st Eastbourne as it was good Friday meeting. The only reason I think is this way back just after the war nearly everyone had a motor bike as it was affordable so families can relate to motor bike racing the crowds were bigger. Now nearly everyone has a car and can relate to car racing. So hence the fact they watch stock cars. How many of your friends have a motor bike compared to a car.

All clubs can sign riders as assets. NL riders can come and go with no loan fees. This makes it possible for enough riders to go around the sport. Eastbourne have a gem in Bradley but it does not mean he will be there next year unless they move up to the PL. But Eastbourne are running in the NL but under an Elite league licence. Look at Martin and Connor all the hard work but Bob really ownes the club and the riders. JK, Woodward, Bridger, Simon G. Now BWD almost a PL side take away jk as he is too old. But why move from NL to PL if your making the NL work for you. Bumped into Ceglo at the first meeting he said it was sorted and he settle the bet.
-
Not that I understand the rule book but all I heard was that mason was ill and you can use a guest for him. reality is that nobody had ever ridden for Eastbourne in the NL so common sense says you can use a guest. But who cares no rules were broken and mason is ill. Give it a few weeks and Brendon will be knocking on the door for a team place. Lol

Meeting was ok. Damp and drizzle in the air the only speedway meetings in was Eastbourne and lakeside. Brilliant entertainment run so quickly no bob on his tractor and a full second half. Kent had all the luck with problems with Andrews and BWD bikes. But the atmosphere was buzzing. Brilliant parade on the Harley's. Can't wait till next week.
