  1. Gary Cottham if thats his surname local lad to Eastbourne
  2. Just been on the young lions site and followed the link to www.tombrennanracing.com looking at his profile he is not 15 till next JULY which would fit him in thats only if he is good enough? Seen him at Eastbourne, and he had a ride at Kent and also Birmingham when the Eagles were there and i see that he had a ride at poole last night as well so he seems to enjoy, Only a few seconds behind the big boys on a 250cc was the fastest at Eastboune in the Youth Round beating the 500cc riders as well and only 2.5 seconds off league times. But Who knows who he will sign for? will be a lot of interest in the young man.
  3. Maybe they are looking at Saturday's for 2016 or maybe mildenhall need to use the Sunday. Must be some madness somewhere.
  4. Sky will never step down to the NL Level they only just about do it to the PL for a few meetings, from what i have seen that PL racing has been much better on sky the the EL racing, I would love to see a match on Sky for NL but it would make sense if it was not Live, Both the club and Sky get a good deal, also they could then edit all the bits inbetween and make it a really good show, We are all aware that NL meetings take longer then most but have to say they are more enjoyable, On Sunday i went into the pits after the meeting and all the Eastbourne Team were still there signing away photos and talking to the Fans, by the time i left the Airfence was taken down and the place was being stripped for Stock Car racing the next day. Can wait to see Birmingham at the weekend, Harvey Banks looks to be the weak link in the side at the moment.
  5. think your find owen kingston and chessell are all Lakeside assets so they have almost a good side
  6. What happens if Lakeside put a NL team together as they almost did this year will mean that there may not be enough riders to go around means the limit will go down
  7. Thank you Islander15 makes sense easy as 1,2,3 i was not sure what they use if BWD has a 6 plus average in the PL if they convert that back down is a 12 plus. He may not be good enough and end up on a 3 point average then they convert that back to the NL average, But makes sense now that NL stays NL and no conversion needed. Thinking aloud a poor run in the PL might have lowered his NL if they converted it. Anyway its looks like he is going to stay in the NL, maybe he will get married and then become a UK Citizen and do the fast track as speedway are missing riders like him and it will be a loss if he cant get a ride in the PL. Niall Strudwick,
  8. Ok so lets say he goes in on a 5 points and then finshes the season on a 5 points then convert his average back to NL is 8 points. what happens then if he is stil racing for Eastbourne as well as PL and his average is lets say 10 points which one do they use? As a club this could be better fo them? to loose 2 points, this year they lost 3 with out Brendon lol
  9. We need Brad, Richard, Georgie, David, Mattie, Kelsey, Marc, they are all a team, It makes a change for so many people to say how good the atmosphere is and how good the racing is, I was there and i was so happy with the result and it shows we have a team of riders that want to win, Brad is good enough to go PL but i think there must be another reason why he has not gone? what average will him go in on or what will he come back to Eastbourne on for next year? lets say he has a 10 point average in NL, if he finds it a bit of a struggle to find his feet in the PL and lets say he finishes on a 3 point average what would he come in on as a NL rider in 2016. would it be better for Eastbourne to let him race to lower his average with out effecting Eastbourne meetings as they could get the best Guest out there for him.
  10. Niall Strudwick could even make the team, Lets see what happens first, Need to get the season out the way first see if we can get some silverware, i bet a few knees are shaking around the tracks to see how good the Eastbourne team are. Roll on Birmingham another step forward to the KO cup fingers crossed and everything else too and its only 5 points behind.
  11. What a cracking match this weekend me and the kids went home and we could hardly talk to each other, missing Richard Andrews and a few mechanical problems for the boys would have ment a few more points, Cradley looked an average side nothing special, Clegg looked to be in a class of his own and only to out staged by BWD, A very good show from Mattie Bates on Dugards Spare bike, proves one thing with Mattie that his bikes need looking at also that kelseys bike is fast enough to win all he has to do is stay onboard. Marc Owen had some miss fortune with a bike problem the only one's who didn't have any problems was BWD and Woods. What a star Woods has turned out to be along with BWD, I heard that BWD would stay with Eastbourne next year, Along with Woods and Andrews chuck in Charlie Powell and possible Dugard all Eastbourne assets. Bring on Birmingham and lets hope we can make up the five points for the KO Cup.
  12. Your wrong mate i go for 8 point win to Eastbourne. Dugard and Luke Harris
  13. Thats a fair report for the meeting and have to say that Birmingham won as they were the better side on the night, maybe not enough points to go to Eastbourne but we will see come monday.
  14. Hey JIM have a look at Hebbs comments all FACTS #pipe #smokeit
  15. Hope they have a loo on the coach when they leave as Shelly Belly may come into play for some of them xxxxx i am just about getting use it it after a few weeks, Have to say the food at Kent was much better, but you cant have everything good racing and good food.
  16. Jim i think you may have it wrong as Kelsey has not paid to join the team, Money does not buy you points and no matter how much money you have will never buy you points, Look at other riders who did not have any money ie Danes as in Hans and Olsen came to the UK and earnt every penny. I think if kelsey had the best bikes all the money and practiced every day of the week which we all no that cant happen with the stadium being used for Stock car racing, he would not be much better at 16, Other riders who have more talent but less money soon drop by the way side. Money does not buy points or team places if your going to win any silverware, Talent is priceless, money will help to point you in the right direction for a while but it will soon become apparnet it will never make you win races, dedication and the love of the sport is the biggest thing, Kelsey runs a good race at Eastbourne because he has been around the track many times but stuggles away from Home, If he finds his feet then that is upto him, Money does not come into it. Maybe Jim thats where your outlook on speedway is not correct and very backward, taleneted riders will always go forward same as Ward, Wilson Dean, George wood, what makes it better for them is Help and Support. Maybe you should try it.
  17. I have been about a bit this year and i have seen Kelsey fall off when leading and when his is at the back it apperas he wont race? But looking on the other side of the coin he is only 16 and this is about his 10th meeting racing in as a team, i have heard Martin moan and pull kelsey down mainly because he has the equipment in front of him but seems to not concentrate then bingo he is on the floor, Martin carries no prisoners and if kelsey is not pulling his weight or becomes lazy i can see that he will be replaced, at the moment he is runing at his average or better so nobody can moan, a smile on kelseys face would be nice as he looks as if he has the whole weight of the world on his shoulders. Kelsey Smith. Dugard, or Hancock only kelsey can turn it around. Bike problems do happen to everyone but to fall off as many times as Kelsey has points to the fact that maybe he does not have what it takes to be as good as his father? but time will tell and i am 100% if there was another rider out there that was as good as Kelsey they would swap him, at the moment he is doing ok just needs looking after.
  18. I think this wont be the match of the season, now the teams have been moved about Eastbourne are at what i could say a big advantage, reserves are very much the Key in the meeting on sunday, Who cares if clegg only got one point last time and greaves fell a hand full of times thats the past and history, Looking at both teams the way they are its going to be a big meeting for both teams and very close, I think the match with Mildenhall will be the better one at Eastbourne. BWD at 1 is where he should be, clegg may match him but unlikley at Eastbourne, Perks in the main team for cradley but it was reported he was having a practice after the MDL match at Birmingham yesterday, not sure if he was going for a MDL team place lol, but reports suggested he may be a little bit to good for MDL but only just. Dugard needs to put some velcro on his seat, he cant do four fast laps takes 2 laps for him to settle down then decides to try and pass. George wood was a star again last night, Roll on Georgie the kids love you and the fans think your a star in the making. Mason is good at Home and in the number 4 jacket gives him 3 inside gates. Owen is slowly improving ever week, along with Mattie Bates, I say all systems go and a win for the Eagles with a 8 point win.
  19. Richard was very good in heat 1 at home and away and you almost could put your money on him winning heat 1, Seems a shame that he was hurt but the positive thing is he will come back better and stronger then before as not a lot seems to get him down, He is one of the most popular riders here at Eastbourne. Get well soon richard fingers crossed opps wont mention anything on the hand lol.
  20. Good meeting at Mildenhall, not bad really as BWD, Woods, have never seen the Track, What a great team to pick themself up after watching a nasty fall from Andrews in heat 1, I see the little ref lady was there walking around in her wellies unable to see over the fence? I was talking to one of the fans afterwards who told me that the ref had picked up on Marc owens pit mat not being the correct material but when it was points out that 3 riders from Mildenhall also had the same mats the ref let it go? What a great meeting to watch on tender hooks all the time just waiting for the next turn of the wheel to see who was going to win, Well done to all the Boys from Both Sides. What is the sport coming too as at the end of the meeting the riders roll the mats up or bash them to get the dirt off then they take them home and jet wash them down the drains at home ? Places like Eastbourne and Kings Lynn and Mildenhall and many others who all run Stock car racing and allowed to let cars smash themself to bits and allow oil to flowing out the sump onto the tracks makes a right mess of it all and speedway again has a clean image. Too much red tape lets go back to grass roots, Oil on the track used to keep the material together like the old days with no oil catchers.
  21. Hey MrB why have you not been? I have changed clubs for reasons that i thought that Mr Silver was starting to go a bit crazy at Kent so i moved to Eastbourne and i have to say that there are a few things about Eastbourne this year, A new welcome to fans with open arms, a very young crazy team that are full of style and want to win and not one of them is above his station all feet on the floor and just loving Speedway. We have seen over the years that Speedway at Eastbourne has been run in one way only, (Bob Dugards way) and it does not work, Len silver, Peter Brown, Terry Russell, Martin Hagon, Bob Brinson, All walked away as they could also see it was not going to work and the common denominator had been Mr Dugard, I was always sure that when the younger Dugard's took over that they make a go of it, I was never a Martin Dugard fan but after the Indoor Speedway he did at Brighton along with John Cook from Lakeside they were always entertaining and everything was first class. Going back to Eastbourne you can see that this place this year has the Buzz again like 1985, 86 with all the young guns agai. Looking forward to Cradley next week i think the long awaiting meeting at Mildenhall will be a nice one to get away with a win (fingers Crossed)
  22. The money from Sky could make a club last a season, maybe they should put them in the Hat and draw them and see what happens but as well all know thats never going to happen. Back to BBC sport with Dicky Davies, ( for you younger fans he is the Gary Lineker of match of the day, Bring on the Hammers and let the title race begin.
  23. Kids are back at Eastbourne this week Maybe BDJ can join in ( Only Joking ). Kids are in Town with four classes same as Scunthorpe, 125cc 150cc 250cc 500cc, Good luck to all the kids and have a safe one, I cant make this meeting as i am away but if i would put my money to go on, H McCurk, N Ablitt, T Brennan, J Parkenson Blackburn. first race is at 5.30pm No racing sunday as the main Team are away at Mildenhall.
  24. ReRun videos have it on sale but really you want to be there to watch it, Have watched this league for a few years now at Kent but at Eastbourne the racing is so much better in this league, George Wood and Richard Andrews have stepped up to Mark and beyond, Owen, Mason, Bates, Dugard are doing what they are meant to be doing, Wilson Dean has set the place alight, Good crowds and atmosphere is growing ever week, I am looking forward to all the Kids this weeks youth meeting then followed by Cradley I think like they said will be a league wining performance for both teams. will the averages change by then? as someone told me when i asked the question that if you are on an assessed average they change 7 days after you have done the fourth match, ie: Dugard, Wood, Wilson Dean, After the Mildenhall on the 17th ? will be there meeting then will they stay for the Cradley meetingand change on the monday or do they change on the 1st of June? Its not an easy world for rules. please can somebody help me before the kids get home from school then i can explain the rules to them
