Roynon’s 2023 average is 6.00 because his NDL MA, per the final issue of 2022 averages, was 6.00. Final averages would have been agreed by all teams at the NDL AGM. That part seems fairly straightforward to me. The reason his final 2022 average was 6.00 is where there could be some confusion. From memory, it was decided last season that the Plymouth vs Armadale match would not count towards the averages due to it being a meaningless match so late in the season and therefore potentially open to manipulation (again, from recollection I believe the same thing happened with Plymouth vs Glasgow in the Championship). Now, whether you agree with that decision or not is very much up for debate (I certainly don’t as it sets a dangerous precedent), but ultimately that was the decision that was made by the governing body at the time. If I am remembering any of this incorrectly then someone please feel free to correct me,. Whatever your view on whether that match should have counted towards the averages, I’m not sure that Edinburgh or Roynon can take any criticism here with regard to the 2023 season. Every team in the league knew his final average, he was available to them all. And Roynon is willing to do a 600-mile round trip to race NDL which should be commended. I’m also not sure what people think the pay rates are in the NDL but I would severely doubt he will make ‘a stack’ of money.

Struggling to understand why Newcastle have elected to have Andersen guest for Starke and not Wethers. They have cost themselves a Wells r/r ride with that decision.

Any word on the Brummies guest for Auty in this one? -
Armadale Devils v Berwick Bullets
Jukebox Romeo replied to Al Stewart's topic in National League Speedway
Devils just to edge this for me, 47-43. Two evenly matched teams on paper with three genuine NL heat leaders on each side, and a good bunch of young prospects in the second string and reserve berths. Particularly looking forward to watching Gregor Millar and George Rothery - two Devils with plenty of potential to kick on again this year. Hopefully George can rediscover his early-2021 form, staying on board for four laps will help! -

Nothing for me either, just a countdown of all zeros... -
Last season adult admission was £12 if memory serves me correctly, so presumably it will be around this for 2022.

Unattached British Talent ?
Jukebox Romeo replied to GiveusaB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Edinburgh only have 3 Brits, which I think proves even further that geography plays a big part in how many British riders are in a teams lineup. -
Wells, Ostergaard, Sedgmen is my 'guess'.

If we can find the Sedgy of 2014 and 2015 (particularly at home) then we are on to a winner with him at second string. He hasn't shown that form since moving away from Edinburgh so hopefully a return to us can help him rediscover his best. I remember that cup tie well, a classic! Looking forward to my trip down to Brough Park for the return on Sunday.

Just Swedish league I believe. Meetings will be split between Premier Sports and Freesports... -
First action of the season for the Monarchs against a tough looking Wolves side. Line-ups: Edinburgh 1. Ricky Wells 2. Justin Sedgmen 3. Josh Pickering 4. Joel Andersson 5. Cameron Heeps 6. William Lawson 7. Luke Ruddick Wolverhampton 1. Sam Masters 2. Luke Becker 3. Rory Schlein 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Nick Morris (R/R) 6. Ashley Morris 7. Nathan Greaves Think this Wolves side will be too strong for Edinburgh but a very good test for our boys before the first meaningful fixture at Scunthorpe on Sunday in the KOC.

Edinburgh v Workington CS 13/4/18 @7.30pm
Jukebox Romeo replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looking forward to this one. Always had a soft spot for Workington as my 'second team' since my early speedway days watching Schott/Carr vs Stonehewer/Stead at Armadale and Derwent Park. Fancy Edinburgh to win this but it will be closer than most expect I think. Max looked impressive last week, hopefully he can carry that on tonight but it will be a real test against a solid Comets side. Erik has had a scorching start to the season and we will need him and Ricky to be on form against potentially weaker Workington heat leaders. A lot also depends on the return from BWD at #7, hopefully Josh can keep him subdued. I'll go Edinburgh 49-41 Workington -
Really looking forward to this one (weather permitting!). Not so much because I expect a Monarchs victory but just to get the season going and the buzz back with a local derby! From an Edinburgh perspective we should have the advantage at reserve so need to make the most of that to keep it close. It's a very difficult start for Max and Joel against a strong Glasgow top 5 but it will be interesting to see how they go. I would be pleased with anything below a 10-point defeat to keep us in contention of lifting the Cup next Friday. Glasgow 51-39 Edinburgh

Visiting Edinburgh & Glasgow
Jukebox Romeo replied to Speedball's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think you'll be very lucky to get an Old Firm ticket as really it's only Rangers season ticket holders plus the away support, no (or very, very few) general sale tickets AFAIK so unless you know someone with a ticket they're not using you may struggle. -
Fairly certain Wells won't be in the Newcastle team

Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is in the correct section of the forum to post this but hopefully if not someone can move it to where it belongs. On Sunday 1st March 2015 I will be running a sponsored 10km race in Edinburgh, with all of the money raised going to Ricky and his family. I would be very grateful if anyone willing to sponsor me for this run, no matter how big or small the amount, would do so at the following link - www.gofundme.com/jveafs Thank you, every £ is hugely appreciated.
